Phone locked during a call...not responsive

I got myself a 16gb iphone 3g but im experiencing problem now with the auto lock set to 1 minute. When i make a call and waited for 1 minute or 2..the phone auto locked itself. Though i pressed the home button few times but the display seems nt appearing. I've tried to reset the phone few times, at 1st the problem seems solved..Howevever, after i tried on more phone calls..the same situation occured again. Any one has any idea solving it and anyone experiencing same problem?

Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...
To minimise loss... Connect to iTunes on the computer you Usually Sync with and Restore from the most recent Backup...

How do you prevent your phone from locking during voice calls? Mute/unmute features? Are there any? Please help?

Here is the problem - I am often on conference calls. My company, for security reasons requires that I use the lock phone feature. However, I will be on a call, I have muted myself, then the phone locks. I then have to key in my password, and unmute my phone. This prevents me from "jumping in" the conversation appropriately. I either sound like I'm not paying attention or worse, I'm talking over someone else and seem rude. I have tried to search for any of the following features on the iphone 5 c.
Prevent phone from locking during phone calls
Set a button on the phone as mute/unmute
Find a headset that has a mute/unmute feature
I am not the only one at my company struggling with this so I'm thinking others might be too and that there is a solution!

Sounds like you need to upgrade to the iPhone 5s
The 5s has Touch ID
You can unlock your phone with your finger instead of typing in a key code
No swiping to unlock either, just touch the home button
You can enrol multiple fingers as well

That being said, as desiel vdub posted if the phone is up to your face, the proximity sensor should turn the screen off
And when you lower the phone turn it back on again
Not sure about the phone locking when your on a call doesn't sound right

Basics from the manual are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new.

End Call not responsive

When I start to make a call, pressing the END Call is not responsive and the recipient receive a missed call. It takes 3 seconds to respond.

Can you clarify please...why would you be using the "End Call" when you "start to make a call"?
In any event...anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness shows up, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. If this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

IOS 4.3 - screen locked during incoming call

Hello, all!
I have interresting problem after I update iOS 4.2 up to iOS 4.3 on my iPhone 4. Sometimes (1 time per each 10-20 times) when incoming call is received, ipone playing the ringtone, vibration is generated and I see on display usually information "incoming call from..." and slide button to receive call - then touch screen of iPhone becomes fully locked and I can not receive the call ! Hardware pushbuttons (power and volume control) still working, but display is fully locked! In this case it is only one way to answer the call - using bluetooth headset. Any other way and any other operations have no any effect - iPhone still playing rington and still waiting when I answer the call.
This situation occurs aproximately on every 10th or 20th incoming call - i.e. one or two times per each day. And, of cource, this is usually very important call that i can not answer because of this stupid situation.
The problem was detected after I update iOS 4.2 up to iOS 4.3 via iTunes.
So, please tell by wich way it is possible to fix this bug and where I have to send notification to solve this problem in the shortest time?

I'm experiencing what is I believe to be the same issue with my iPhone 4, and have been suffering in silence for about a week.
iPhone 4 model MC603X with Modem Firmware 04.10.01, 16Gb, cheap silicone cover, Vodafone NZ as my carrier.
My screen locks after 1 minute of inactivity as it should with my settings. Perhaps 1 call in 5, or 1 call in 10, the screen wakes up and displays called ID information etc correctly, but I cannot swipe to answer the call. The touch screen simply fails to respond.
If I push the power button briefly to silence the ringtone, this does not make a difference. The iPhone has to be locked (and screen turned off), then push a hardware button to wake up the display, and then I can swipe to unlock the device.
This is only since iOS 4.3 and unfortunately iOS 4.3.1 has not changed this behaviour.
Any advice appreciated.

Phone locks during ipod play

If I turn off the auto lock feature while listening to music, will phone go into rest mode, ie, screen saver, to save battery, or will it stay on until I power off or lock? I'm looking for way to listen to music and not have to unlock phone everytime I want to skip a track.

I use the headphones and with a double click of the answer button it skips song. I still let my phone lock as usual, so try the headphones.

Cisco IP phones with only incoming calls not outgoing calls

The problem in one of our client place where we implemented the Cisco IPT using Cisco Callmanager 4.1 running on MCS 7800 server with the IP phones being used over there are 7940G, 7912G. is that sometimes the phones are unable to call outside but they can receive calls from outside. When on the Cisco CallManager Administration web console reset the gateway (by going to Devices> Gateway, then check the box next to the gateway and click reset) the outgoing calls can be performed again.
Where will the problem be either in callmanager or the voice gateway router 1760?
Please let us know the solutions to this issues asap.

I would check the IOS version you are running, first off, and use Bug Tool or downloads to see if there are VOIP issues with the Feature Set or Train you are using. I know from the past, I personally had MANY problems with the 1760 router platform and had to try several IOS Ts to find one that worked consistently. The other thing you ought to look at is whether it is an MGCP or H.323 gateway. I would suggest redeploying as an H.323, as it can be a bit more manageable. The difference is:
MGCP => CallManager controls dial plan with Part / CSSs
H.323 => the router control dial plan with dial peers in IOS

Is there a way to prevent the device from locking while on a call?
I don't think talking on the phone should be considered as "inactivity". Especially on a device mainly dedicated to this function.

The BlackBerry Q10 smartphone currently does not have an option to disable this feature, one option would be to extend the password lookout time.

Phone locking up itunes and not mountin

I had my new iPhone working and then I went on vacation. I got back last night and today I am trying to sync my phone. Anytime I plug it in it just "beach balls" itunes and I have to force quit. I have tried leaving it several minutes to see if that would help, but nothing.
I rebooted the computer and the phone several times. Tried a different usb port and even tried my laptop. Nothing worked. Even on my laptop the phone just locked up iTunes.
The phone is charging plugged up though.
I did notice yesterday it got very sluggish and almost non-responsive, but I rebooted the phone and it worked better (though still slow)
Any clue on how to get this phone to mount in iTunes?

Skype stuck on connecting during outgoing calls; not receiving any calls (version 7.7)

I have been having this problem occur a lot lately. I get on skype to talk to my friends and when I try to call them, it just keeps saying connecting. It doesn't ring nor does it say its ringing. My friends tell me through IM on skype that they aren't receiving any calls. I told them to call me. I don't receive a pop-up on the screen and I made sure I wasn't on "Do Not Disturb." I tried doing the closing out of the skype application completely and deleting the dbTemp file but that only provided me a temporary fix ONCE. Does anyone know how to fix this? My friends can call others perfectly fine. This problem persisted with me during Windows 7 and currently in Windows 10.

It sounds like you have a problem with the proximity sensor that turns the screen off when you are on the phone. Do you have a case on the phone? If you do, try taking the case off and test a call. See if the screen turns off when you bring the phone up to your ear. If it does, it is possible the case is blocking something in the proximity sensor which is not allowing it to work properly. If it still does not work after taking the case off, you can perform the user troubleshooting, power off/on, reset by holding the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. If that doesn't work, then a restore, first from a backup and if needed then as a new device if necessary.

When you receive a call and have answered it, if you look at your screen you should see several options, one being speaker, tap the icon and your call will be placed on speaker. The other option is to go settings>general>accessibility>incoming calls and change to speaker. Be warned though, if you change it in settings all your incoming calls will be on speaker until you change the option back to default.

Screen Locking During Screen Share Access

When I access my iMac from another Mac using Screen Sharing my iMac system is then open for anyone walking by to access. Is there any way to use Screen Sharing for access and keeping the physical screen on the system being accessed locked? I know there are ways to do this using a third-party VNC, but that requres using a non-standard port for access. Is there some working-around for Screen Sharing, or perhaps some way to change the port that Screen Sharing is using (and if so, does this work?)???

When incoming call it will show the contact name and also the contact number which is harm to the privacy of the contact numbers also...
So please some one tell me how to avoid this problem , otherwise everybody around me will come to know all my contact numbers without go to the phone book during a call......

I dont really see how everybody around you could see the numbers. This was done to show you who was calling and from what phone number you have saved. This is the built in caller ID, and no amount of resetting will fix this to my knowledge.
For the people around you to see, Its pretty gross and unusual for people to look at your phone and try to memorize the small font numbers. You arent giving them enough time. 2 secs flat when you look at the phone, slide it open and put on your ear isnt enough for people to view and memorize 8-12 digit numbers.
