Phone Locking up after pairing with Acura Handsfree

I just purchased a new 3g and my phone locks up everytime I get in my vehicle. I paired it with the handsfree in my Acura and it starts to work and then the phone locks up. Any tips? Its very annoying to step into or out of your vehicle and have to reset your phone.

I have the same problem when I take the risk of dialing from the iPhone on my 06RL. The iPhone correctly shows the handsfree link as an option but it does nothing, so I have to pull over to make a call.
Also, the only way to dial is by remembering and spelling the phone number to the hnads free system and I have never been able to sync the contacts. Entering them one by one is out of the question.
Unfortunately Acura does not seem to have the tradition or policy (unlike other high-end car makers) of releasing updates to their navi system. Not even to fix bug. It seems to be AS-IS. Believe me I have asked several times.
To make it worse, Apple has the policy of not responding so we are left to figure it out.

My iPhone 5 screen is black and will not come back on. The phone still works when paired with my vehicles Bluetooth what's wrong with it, and can I fix it?

I have a similar problem.  I restored my iPhone 5 to the latest available OS.  After completing the process the phone never restarted.  The phone was fully charged when I restored it but now refuses to charge past the red battery icon.  I have been able to get the phone in UFD mode several times and have been able to load the new OS on the phone.  The Apple logo does come on and the software fully loads.  iTunes tells me the phone will restart but never does.  I left it to charge all night but it never appeared to load the battery.  This morning I went to the Grand Central Terminal apple store for help.  A woman at the store plugged the phone in but it never charged.  She absolutely refused to believe that I got my phone in UFD mode and loaded any software on.  I don't think it is a battery issue.  The only solution I was given was to buy a new phone.  Repairing it was out of the question.  At this point the phone is completely useless.  Thanks in advance for the help.

  • Handsfree Pairing with Acura TL Difficulties

My iPhone will not pair with my '06 Acura TL - I have tried the phone setup menus through the navi system but no joy...please can someone detail exactly how I do this. My problem is the car is not sending the pairing code to the phone. HELP I miss this connection so much.

The pairing code isn't sent to the iPhone from the car, so you need to get the handsfree system in your car to the point where it is looking for a paired device, or ready to accept one. Your car's user guide, or the one that came with the nav system if it is separate, will explain how to do this. It will also tell uoi what the pairing code is.
Once you have got the car to the right point, you then pick up your iPhone, go to settings, select general, then select Bluetooth. Make sure Bluetooth is ON (the toggle at the top of the screen) and under that you will then see 'devices' and the little wheel spinning. when it finds the car's hardsfree system, it will ask you for the pairing code, which you've got from the car's manual. enter that and select OK, and it should pair up.
I don't have an Acura so I can't give you precise instructions, but the principle is the same for all these systems. And since the whole process takes no more than a few seconds usually, you may even be able to drop by your Acura dealership and ask them to show you.

  • Blutooth turns off after pairing with GPS

I am able to pair my iPhone with the Garmin nuvi 265WT and connect successfully between GPS and phone. However, about 15-20 seconds after pairing, bluetooth on the iPhone turns off momentarily (2-3 seconds) then turns back on but the GPS loses connection with the iPhone. With one exception, this happens evertime I again attempt to pair the devices.
I have the recent iPhone update and the iPhone is on the nuvi's approved list of compatible phones. Anyone having the same issues or suggested fix? Thanks!
    Cliff

I can suggest a work-around that appears to work with my nuvi 765t and iPhone 3G. After pairing has been successful, make sure the phone is turned on and in bluetooth discovery mode. BEFORE you turn on the nuvi 765T. Mine will reconnect in that instance. To me it suggests that the problem lies with the iPhone 3G and its discovery mode. Because of the God awful battery life issues with the iPhone 3G I am guessing they do not allow the phone to stay in Bluetooth discovery mode.
It's odd, however, because the iPhone 3G same phone will link every time with my nuvi 680 without having to go through the mickey mouse stuff. Why not just use the same Bluetooth firmware in the 765t as you have in the 680?

  • Connection lost 10 seconds after pairing with Sony Ericsson HBH-300

    Hi all,
I becoming mad with this, hope someone can help me!
I have a HBH-300 headset that I can pair easily with iPhone. When I do it, bluetooth icon turns to blue and if I give a call in the following seconds no problem, everything works just fine.
But if I wait for more than 10 seconds after pairing or if I try to give another call 10 seconds after the previous one, then connection is lost. BT icon is grey and pushing the main button of my headset doesn't change anything, connection is definitely lost.
I have tried to shutdown both iphone & headset and try again, it doesn't help.
That headset works perfectly with many other phones (at least 4). This is the first time I run into such trouble.
Unpairing and pair again is a workaround of course but it is obviously not acceptable...
Does someone know what happens here and how I could solve that problem?
Thanks in advance for your help!

    Thanks guys for your feedbacks,
Just one question regarding the behavior of the iPhone in the bluetooth menu.
When I go to that menu, ok I can see my headset device with status "paired" but I can state also that the "heartbeat" icon close to the menu title (not sure about the title exact name as my menu is in foreign language) never stops blinking...Like if the phone never stops searching for other available bluetooth devices.
I found that behavior quite strange because on all other phones I have owned until now, the "searching for device" mode has always been temporary and it stops as soon as the available devices list is updated and complete.
It doesn't necessarily mean that something is wrong but I found that menu logic quite inconsistent.
    Do you experience similar behavior?
    Regards,

  • Phone shuts down when pairing with bluetooth

I've had a Samsung Renown for a while and just installed a new hands free device in my car. When I pair the phone with the HFD or pair the HFD with the phone, it connects, then the phone reboots and the connection is lost. Any ideas ?

I researched your issue with the phone resetting when pairing to your vehicle, and I have some good news!  It appears that there were some problems with pairing via Bluetooth to vehicles using the old software on the device.  You can view your software by going under Settings & Tools> Phone Info> SW / HW Version.
The new software is u810.DE01.  If you have any version besides u810.DE01, you will need a software update to fix the issue.  If your current version of software is u810.CE14, you can most likely update to u810.DE01(the new one) over the air. All you need to do is go under Settings & Tools> Phone Info> Software Update> Check New.  You will then be prompted to update the software.
If this over the phone method does not work and you have u810.CE14 as your current software or you have an older version of software than u810.CE14, please take your phone into a Verizon Wireless Store to have it flashed with the new software.  In the software update notes to the u810.DE01 software, there are very specific details about it resolving issues with pairing with vehicles.  This sounds like an open and shut case of a software update.
Locate your nearest Verizon Wireless corporate store by clicking on this link.
Please update us if it fixes your issue!

  • Bluetooth no longer pairs with Acura TSX

I have had an Acura TSX since September 2012.  The bluetooth on my iphone paired fine, and continued to work okay after I got the iphone 5 in October.  However, a few months or so ago, it randomly "unpaired" from the phone.  I was able to "forget the device" and repair it.  Unfortunately, it unpaired again this week, and after telling the phone to forget the device again, the car can no longer find any bluetooth enabled devices when I try to pair it.  Sometimes, the "handsfree" link will come up and ask me to pair, but when I put in the pin, the car will say that it couldn't find a bluetooth.  I've turned the phone on and off, and the bluetooth on and off, and nothing happens.  No idea if this is an issue with my car or with my phone.  Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

Unpair the car from the iPhone (Settings -> General -> Bluetooth) and unpair the iPhone from the car (check your owner's manual).
Typically you just have to unpair and re-pair the iPhone with the car and you're back up and running.

  • Mail application rejecting password after pairing with iCloud

    Hey guys.
After updating to OS X 10.7.2, and setting up iCloud I've been unable to receive mail via the Mail app.
When I try I recieve the following message:
The iCloud IMAP server “p99-imap.mail.me.com” rejected the password for user “xxxxxxxxx”
Does anyone know of a fix for this problem?

    It's NOT FIXED!!!
It seems to work off and on more off then on
There is still an issue with wrong server being referenced and not accepting a password that works every where else.
Apple needs to put some serious effort into this and make a wide announcement about issue and when they get it fixed.
This is not tyopical for Apple to have such an issue and not have it resolved by now.

  • Acura HandsFree and iphone

I have an 05 Acura TL. My iphone3Gs is paired to Acura HandsFree Bluetooth. I can answer calls using HandsFree Bluetooth. When making outgoing calls using the handset, iphone never defaults to bluetooth automatically. It always give me a choice, HandsFree((but only after the other party has picked up),iphone, or iphone speaker. Acura said its a problem with iphones. Any Solutions?

    I have two 08 Acura's...08 TL Type-S and 08 RDX...
Both link fine to the iPhone 3GS and both allow me to make and take calls as designed...
I'm familiar with the three voice choices you're speaking about but your assumption that you should not have to choose from them every time you try to make an outgoing call is correct...it should always choose the Handsfree link as the voice option as long as it's properly paired...
Try removing it from the cars system thru the menu to delete all phones...then add it back...in conjunction with that...do a hard reset on iPhone by holding sleep/wake and home buttons until you see the white Apple symbol...
When properly linked with the car...and you try to make a call...as soon as you get to the point of saying Call Home or Call 555-1212 etc...it should immediately choose Hands free Link voice option and you should hear ringing thru the car speakers even before they pick up...
Now the only possible change could be with the car itself..I am certain the technology changed in these cars in the last few years but I can't remember what year off hand..Maybe it's worth Googleing that to see if you can find info on changes to the cars tech in a later year than 05...
I'll keep playing with mine to see if I can think of any other possible causes

  • My iPhone will not pair with any devices on bluetooth, help?

I can't seem to pair my iPhone 4 with any other phones or devices.

    PAISLEYSAINT
I have a THB Bury car phone cradle specific to the iPhone 4 which was working fine until I updated to iOS 5.1.1 - my phone will no longer pair with it or recognise it or any other Bluetooth device !
I carried out a full reset and relaunched the phone as if it were new - no success
I took the phone to the appple store and one of the Geniuses looked at it for me. He told me it was not designed to 'discover' other BT devices after he paired it with his MacBook but could not pair the devices in the opposite direction - i.e my phone to the MacBook. I thought this strange that the premier smart phone on the market should not have this function especially when it previously worked well.
He also carried out a full reset which is deeper than the one you can do at home - no success.
The genius would not accept that this was a fault and claimed not to be aware of any issues but offered to have it repaired for around £116 !!!
Incidentally my phone is just outside its  warranty and his phone would not pair up either when I asked him to check.
THis is useless to me !! I understand Apple don't want to support BT function that allows it customers to send files between devices but come on ! My £90 BT car cradle kit is now useless and cannot be paired via my iPhone.
I now really have to consider using a smart phone that will work.
I love apple stuff and currently own no less than four different devices and was considering a new mac but not now. I feel let down by apple.
    DIssapointed !:-(
    iPhone 4, iOS 5.1.1
