My phone states "gdlocal" instead of my name.
How can the gdlocal be changed?

When your phone is connected in iTunes, look at the left side where it says the phone name. Double click it (or right click) and you can change the name.

Phone name change

I have successfully set up my iPhone 3GS except that I did not realise that I could change my phone's name. Now i am sitting with the "ugly" name of "Administrator's iPhone". Is there a way I can change it?

Have your phone connected to itunes. On the left, underneath Store, where it says "Devices" it will show the name of your phone. Double click on the actual phone name and type your required name in there. Hit enter and sync, just to be sure.
Pick an name like Titanic, it almost reads "Sinking the Titanic"

Screen shot below best reflects my inquiry. Have noted intermittent problems with Siri (and other apps) when using location services. In checking Privacy> Location Sevices>Share my location>From this device, i find repeated phone name. I know these can be slided over to elect delete but not certain what I am deleting? What are the repeated names associated to? What implications could result if duplicates are deleted?

N95 change phone name

Hi there,
We have 2 x N95's and want to sync them independently in PC Suite how can we change each phones names as currently they both have the same name, Nokia N95.
We are syncing with USB cable and have changed the name in BT and wireless but still each phone is named Nokia N95 can we change the name if so how.

In previous versions of PC Suite it would differentiate by calling one say Nokia 5100(1) and the other Nokia 5100(2).
Please be aware that your post will not elicit a response from Nokia. Use "Contact us" at top right of the screen to bring this issue to Nokia's attention. The more times an issue is reported the further up it moves in "possible action" table.

We have 2 x N95's and want to sync them independently in PC Suite how can we change each phones names as currently they both have the same name, Nokia N95.

Find my iphone: how can the thief change the phone name?

Hello.
I have had 3 iphones stolen the last 5 months.
Finally I got a ping from one of the stolen iPhones. I could follow it for almost 2 months. Since I am in a country were the police wont do anything it does not help me that I have name/address of the thief.
But this strange thing happened last day/last ping I got from my stolen iPhone:
Somehow the device is removed from my "find my iphone" list and/or the device have changed name.
The device was locked with passcode/touch ID.
I have changed password AppleID 3 times since the phone was stolen (well: The police wanted my password/AppleID to track the phone. Somehow the thief got this information and I found out when my address book had 150 new entries from the thief).
I managed to change password and lock the phone remotely after that incident.
To bad I cant ask Apple any question.
How can a device be removed from my account? (I have not got any warnings that someone have logged into my iCloud account from a new device/location)
How can a thief change the name of a stolen iPhone that is locked with touchID/Password/passcode? (Iphone6). Is there still DFI attacks that can wipe the phones?
How can I check if my account is hacked?
Why cant I remotely detonate my iPhone? The battery would be a nice little bomb making the phone worthless?
(and F lazy Russian tourists police that just ask "what should we do" when I provide address/name/video of a person that have stolen stuff worth over 5000 dollars including iphones/Ipads)

Take a look at the instructions below for what to do when you sell your iPhone. If you have followed all of these steps, the new owner should contact his/her carrier to activate the phone.

Help - Phone Name Display

Hello,
I am trying to do this setup for a user:
1. Since no remaining DIDs available, set the phone to use the main number extension.
2. User needs internal extension.
3. When user picks up the recevier, they should be able to dial out without pressing any buttons except phone number.
4. Need to set display name on phone.
Not sure how to acheive this.
I can set the main extension on the phone as the first button, but then phone shows no name, as the main extension has no name set.
If I create an external extension and assign it to button 1, phone shows name, but user cannot dial out, as no matching DID exists.
What should I do?
I thought about doing an outgoing translation for those new extensions to use the main extension number, but not sure how to do that, or even if that would work. Calls going out do not need to show users internal extension, and the users do not need to have direct incoming calls to those extensions.

What is your setup? are you using CUCM or CCME? You can use external number mask with CUCM and use translation rules for ccme...

i installed it on my buddys computer now when i connect to mine the phone it says his comp name i've been trying to change but i havent found a solution anyone knows how to change it????

Identifying separate cel phone names in my contacts

In many cases I have two or more cel numbers within individual contacts in my Outlook 2007. to aid in calling the correct one I have added their name after their number (ie. Tom) in the same field & it synced just fine with my previous HTC WM 6.1 phone & would call with no issues. It synces with my new iPhone 4 but won't call from the iphone says "can not be completed as dialed". Is there any way I can do this? (Note add custom label doesn't work as the next time I sync itdoesn't match Outlook & removes the numbers from there).

They are not Facebook contacts. The phone numbers are internations phone numbers.

Problem transferring phone names and numbers to Ford C-M

I'm using bluetooth connection to Ford C-Max for making and receiving calls, and using the voice recognition of C.Max for making calls.
Previously I had a (android) Samsung S Plus which worked perfectly: connection, fast addresses copy to C-Max, the regular use of the phone using C-Max interfaces.
Now, which Z3 Compact alla works fine, except names are tranferred in wrong way: instead of
name surname
I see
name\nsurname\n
making address book useless because voice recognition will never use such names.
As the problem is not existing with other Android devices (like my old Samsung S Plus or my wife Samsung S4 mini), I feel this could be a bug on the Sony side.
What to do?

In case Ford is not familiar with this, would it be possible for you to also try your phone with another car to see if this is an issue with your phone? I don't have access to a Ford to test with i'm afraid but i tested with another car and there it works.

My phone name comes up when my wife calls from her phone

For some reason, my wife's Iphone shows up as my Iphone name when she makes calendar appointments and when she calls people. I have here number in my contacts so I do not see that My name shows up when she calls other people. How do we set her phone so that when she calls people, the caller ID comes up as her name. Also, how do we change it so that when she sends a calendar appointment, It comes up as her appointment and not mine?

Phone name in iTunes

When I connect my iPhone to iTunes it doesn't always come up with the name of my iPhone on the left hand side. It reverts back to the name "iPhone" - I can click on this and retype my own name - but just wondered why this might be happening? Any ideas?

Simply sync one of your phones in iTunes, left-click it's name under the "Devices" section on the left hand side of the iTunes screen and the name highlights so you can change it to whatever your heart desires.
