I am in US at the moment and my phone won't pick up a signal, I get the following error message 'your SIM card does not allow connection to the network' I have a EE contract about 6 weeks

Did you activate roaming before you left?
If no then you will have to call EE CS to activate unless you have owned the phone/contract for more than 6 months and then the option maybe available in you online account.

GPS not picking up signal

I have been having a problem with the google maps and google navigation since monday 10/01/12. On google maps my location is off anywhere from 40 ft to 1.5 miles. I have contacted both verizon customer support and what I could get from google and have done all the suggestions, including a factory reset and installing other gps software from the google play store to no avail. A few of the technicians that I have talked to have also experienced gps problems including location verification being off and not finding a gps signal also. Please let me know if the is a problem with the network or if it's a problem with the phone. As it is I am unable to use the gps navigation to travel and it has become a hinderence.

I have tried all that, with gps test app, I left it on for 5 minutes and nothing. and my gps radio is always on.

Do you leave the GPS radio on all the time or turn it off when you aren't going to use for a while?
I leave mine on with my Tbolt and it usually locks on quickly. If it doesn't, then I make sure that I'm outside and open an application called GPS Test. I use this application to reset the Assisted GPS and to verify that the satellites are within range. The application will then lock my location within at most a couple of minutes and more like seconds.

What signal is it picking up? Are you joining wireless network? If so don't.. it is really poor way to run things.
Is it connected to a cable modem? Full router or just a modem type?
Try a reset?
Plug in via ethernet.. turn off everything.. wait 5min then restart cable modem.. if that doesn't work, give it a longer off cycle.. 15min or overnight.
We need more info.

Passport not picking up signal

Hi everyone. I am looking at a passport on ebay. He is selling as parts because the phone doesnt pick up a signal for more than 5 seconds and then just shows "no network" after that. The seller said that he sent it back to blackberry and they sent it back to him without addressing the fault. Upon enquiry, blackberry sent him a brand new one which is why he is selling this one.Does anyone know if blackberry will fix this for mw once i purchase it?Many thanks

99% nope. For BB to deal with it, they would need to be dealing with the authorized warranty holder...which, unless the eBay seller is an authorized reseller, won't be you. (And, even if they are, they'd have to be your first source of warranty support, and they would be responsible for escalating the claim up to BB if needed.)
All in all, I recommend that you don't buy this, unless all you truly want are some spare parts...if you want a fully functioning BB device, then buy one in that condition. And if you want warranty coverage, buy through the properly authorized resale channels.

Netgear wireless adapter not picking up signal

I have a D-link DI-524 wireless router. Set up with WPA-PSK.
I have a Pismo 400 that came with an ethernet adapter Netgear 802.11b Wireless pc card.(16-bit PCMCIA Model MA401).
I thought, until recently, that it was operating off my router as does my PB with built in wireless. But I found out the signal it is picking up is from a neighbor's wireless network, not mine. I took the Pismo upstairs placing it next to my router and the network doesn't show as an option to join.
I don't know what is going on and appreciate any input.

I found there was a firmware upgrade on the Dlink router, which I did.
I was able to connect after that but.......The firmware upgrade Dlink released on 8/16 now will not allow me to encrypt the router. After an hour with their very helpful tech support they realized that there was a problem.
Now I don't know what to do to protect the network.

Unlocked phone not picking up telstra sim card

Hi I just recently got givin a Samsung Pocket, it is unlocked (I have checked on other sites), but it won't pick up my Telstra sim card, its saying I have no service.

IPhone 5 will not pick up signal

I have an iPhone 5 which is approximately 1 year old. It was provided through my insurance after my original phone was smashed. I used the iPhone for around 10 months with no problems, however it then lost signal and would only work when connected to Wifi - other sim cards have been tried to no avail.
Can anyone advise on what the problem could be as I would like to have it fixed.

Phone not picking up Voice VLAN

Hi All,
Strange issue that's just started happening with a few 6921 phones.
On our cisco switch when port is configured with data and voice vlan, the phone picks up an IP address from the data vlan and in turn doesn't register. It's as if it doesn't see the voice vlan. As soon I remove the data vlan and have voice vlan only on the port, phone picks up IP from the voice network and registers against the CME. This all worked before on the same ports, nothing changed. It just suddenly stopped working.
Anyone seen this before?

Ok first output is when the phone doesn't work. VLAN 7 is the data vlan and 81 is Voice on this LAN.

WRT546 Wireless Adapter not picking up signal

We have 2 computers, one hard wired and the other wireless for the internet. The system has been working perfectly until we switched out the wireless computer for a new computer. Spent several hours on this and hours on the phone with Linksys. We had to install the wireless adapter and are thinking that this is where the problem lies. Are there any suggestions on the correct way or port to install the adapter? It looks like there is only one place to put it. Nothing in the User Guide shows how to install the wireless adapter.

may i know the model number of the router and wireless adapter? you have 2 computers right? 1desktop and 1laptop? or 2desktops? 2laptops?

Notebook not Picking up Signal

I am currently using the Linksys Wireless-G Broadband router. In the beginning, the first time I used my Toshiba notebook with it, it worked fine and I could access the internet. Now, I can't. What could be the problem? Is it because I've yet to configure the notebook? If so, how do I? Thank you.

Well try upgrading the firmware of the router & keep on holding tightly
the reset button in such a way that power light is blinking on the
router & then do a complete network power cycle i.e., unplug the power
cables from the modem & from the router & then plug in the power cable
to the modem first once all the lights are solid green you could plug
in the power cable to the router & check out it will definately work!!
I assume you are using windows XP operating System... So follow this steps ....
Uninstall the drivers for the Adapter from start >> All programs ....

Try resseting the network settings in settings>general then go to reset a the bottom.
Then reset NETWORK settings.

HT1430 while travelling i had my ipone on airplane mode then after powering down for landing turn phone back on and now will not pick up service and wifi connections what do i do to restart my phone

Phone was given to me by apple 2 weeks ago. Last I saw of it working was phone was off so i did the quick reset. Apple logo came up, it started up and keypad for passcode came up. It said 2% battery then went up to 64% a second later. When I was playing wth it not 5mins before it was at 65% so would make sence that later indication was correct. Before I could type the 4 digit passcode in the phone turned off to black screen. Now I have tried all possible reset options incuding the 10 second hold down of both buttons for less than 10 seconds and longer than 10 seconds. Nothing is working. iTunes is not recognising the device at all. Ive had it plugged into a wall socket for three hours and the computer for 2 hours and no signal of life. Ive tried the forums on here and the youtube vidoes and seem to know what im doing with resets. Anyone able to shed some light?

Not being able to get DFU Mode indicates hardware failure. Since you recently received this iPhone from Apple it has at a minimum 90 day Warranty. Make Genius reservation or make service arrangements and take or send to Apple for resolution. Regarding what is actually wrong with the iPhone, it could be possibility of several things. But some of the features point directly to battery. First step in fixing this iPhone would be battery replacement. Then trouble-shooting from there if still problem. Take it to Apple.

the iphone never really picked up wi fi when it was used as a phone and it didnt really matter because he had unlimited internet but it still wont go on wi fi. does any one know why it is doing this?
The iphone works fine other wise i just really want it to go on wi fi. We just got new wi fi too and all of our other apple products go on the wi fi just fine. I dont know if its because its newer or what but my brothers 1st gen ipod goes on wi fi just fine.
The iphone is updated to the latest ios too
