Phone not ringing

Since having Infinity installed I’m have a problem with one of my phones
a BT Converse 300 it will not ring in any of the extensions, other than the non ringing it works ok.
If I plug the phone into the face plate of the master socket it will then ring and work as normal.
My other corded phone works ok any where its plug in.
The phone extensions are wired into and behind the master socket.
This phone was working fine plugged into the extension before Infinity was installed.
I have phoned the help desk and there answer is if there is nothing wrong with
the engineers wiring I will be charged for the visit £100 + so there advice was fix it
yourself.

Its quite possible that your existing extensions were wired up wrong before Infinity was installed.

The extension wiring would be connected to the removable bottom section. Some old phones still need the bell wire connected as well.

N81 SIP Phone not ringing...

I'v had my N81 for 2 months, when I first got it and tested it with my SIP provider, the phone rang when i was called. Without changing provider or provider settings the phone no longer rings, or alerts me of incoming VoIP calls.
I can make outgoing VoIP calls, and, if the phone is switched off I callers are alerted to the fact I am unavailable if the call my VoIP number. If the phone is on and connected they hear a dial tone, so why does my phone not ring anymore with SIP?

OK. Well since no one seems to answer SIP questions on this board anyway, I figured it out. Port forwarding (for NAT firewall) on my new router. As a rule of thumb it seems to receive calls you need to have Ports 5000-5099 open to UDP. Check your router manual if unsure how to do this.

IOS 6.1 problem with the phone not ringing

Anyone having a problem after updating to IOS 6.1 on their iPhone 4s. The phone no longer rings when a call comes in. I tried restarting the phone which I have seen on a few post on the Internet but that did not correct the issues. My wife and I both have an iPhone 4s 32gb with Verizon and we both ran the update last night. My phone was a little slow so I restarted the phone and that seemed to resolve the issue. However on my wife's phone it will not ring. You call the number and you can see the call coming in but the phone will not ring. We have tried restarting the phone with no success. Has anyone else had this issue and what did you do to resolve.
PS: I am also one of the Administrators for the Messaging team and I have had several of my users with iPhones call me regarding the same issue. Looking for a solution for myself and others.

We definitely need to get to the bottom of this. Receiving calls, and being aware of them is totally important. Is it with every call? Did you check Alert Settings to ensure you have it set to Ring?
There is a Setting called Interruptions; this may interfere with all notifications when an App is open. It's in Sound and Notification.

Phone not ringing and going straight to records message saying it's a private number

Phone is not ringing and callers get a message saying it is a private number. This is not the message I have recorded.
I have turned the phone off and sinc it with Itunes What else can I do????

Phone not ringing and voicemail notifications on SMS not occurring

Can someone help with this issue as it is beginning to drive me nuts ! Phone is not ringing and any voicemail message is not being notified by SMS. This seems to have been happening since late 2013 but can't be sure of that. Is this a SIM card issue, or a possible software issue.

I would do a security wipe on the device first:

Once the wipe is complete you can restore your backup. Keep in mind that data in the backup may be the source of the original problem and restoring it may restore the problem, as well. To alleviate this I recommend not restoring the Settings portion of the backup.

Phone not ringing only vibrating

Hi, my phone is not ringing for incoming calls, messages, emails, alerts or for the alarm. Only vibrating. I have checked the mute button, updated all sound settings, turned phone off and on again and reset the phone. Still no go. Any suggestions?

Nope, still not fixed just don't know the phone is ringning at all without looking at it.
And if I try and ring out using the speaker phone option I can't hear the dial/ring tone when calling out.

Phone not ringing aloud, not taking messages

Hi all - hope someone can help!
The issue I have is with my direct dial line at work. When people call that line the phone never rings out loud (it does flash up briefly that there is a call coming in on the handset) – I have checked numerous phones on that line and the same thing happens.
The flashing on the phone (BT Paragon) then stops, but for the person calling in it is still ringing. This never clicks off – they always have to hang up. And the answering service never kicks in (despite being set up on BT answering service and the phone being set up to answer).
BT haven't been terribly enlightening! They've tested the line and say there is not fault, but they've sent out 2 engineers with the wrong details and also told me that line doesn't exist! So if I can fix it myself that would be better!
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problems might be?

Cisco phone not ringing

Hi Cisco techs,
Cant get my Cisco 7912 phone to ring. Has IP address and switch/router can ping each other
Dial peers are configured. Same as DID and ports. Using CME 3.3.
Have DID number from a VSP. Test call to number goes straight to voicemail after 4 rings
Everything appears to be configured.
Have placed output of common commands in discussion. I eagerly await your ideas. Thanks again

Phone not ringing when in sleep mode

Over last few days have had problem with iPhone 4S not ringing when in sleep mode. I have just spoken to Apple support. I had do not disturb scheduled , but this was staying on all the time , which I hadn't realised. This is a fault which should be sorted by 7th Jan. hope this helps anyone else with same problem, as I did search this site first.

This is the exact problem i'm having right now, I don't know why it's happening, but when i have it on the desk and when it's in sleep mode, I can get phonecalls and it won't ring but it won't show up as missed calls either, if i get a voice message i'll get it if i take it out of sleep mode and let it sit with full reception for a minute.
I also lose all reception while in sleep mode.

a while back we had a bad thunderstorm and the telephone seemed to stop working from then. I have bought new handsets and it did not fix the problem. you can ring our house number and the other person will hear it ringing but in the house the handsets do not ring, therefore we do not know that someone is calling. We have taken all the connections out, cleaned and out back in again, new handsets bought and still the problem persists. any ideas? thanks

You will need to prove if the fault is in or out of your premises, have a look here at a simple fault guide.
If you prove the fault to be the line you would need to report this to your comms provider who will action BT Openreach to clear the problem.

Phone not ringing every time

Hi, my iPhone isn't ringing every time I get a call, usually there is a missed call message, but not always, and sometimes it will ring. I did reset the phone several times, and I naturally checked that I didn't have it on mute and also checked my ring settings ... all good but problem still there. it will vibrate, but if I'm not nearby, I miss the call. Any ideas? Thanks:)

Do you see a crescent moon shaped icon in the menu bar at the top? If so, you have enabled the "Do not Disturb" option. To turn it of, go to Settings - Do not Disturb = off

Phone not ringing for incoming texts or phone calls

I have an Iphone 4S and have installed some Ringtone songs via Itunes. However frequently the phone does not play these tones when I receive a text or a phone call. The ringer is turned ON and the volume is at it's loudest. It has helped to turn off the phone for a short bit of time and then turn it back on. However, I miss several texts/calls a day due to this. I am wondering if it is due to the special ring tones or if my phone is not working properly.

It could be the ringtones in question, change to a different ringtone for the contacts in question or in general and see if the problem goes away.

I can't seem to get my iPhone to Ring or Alert me when Texts arrive etc. All the Setting appear to be correct and switched on for all the right Features, can any give me any further advice. Is there something I'm missing or is there a problem with my Phone ???
