Phone now has strange ringtone after fault fix

Hi,
A few days ago i reported to BT about having noise on the line, particularly bad in the morning - early afternoon and a day or so later got a call from a BT engineer saying they had found a fault at the exchange and now it was fixed, noise had indeed gone!
However now the phone ringtone has changed - first ring is normal then the tone seems to get distorted and extended in length.
Is there still a fault with the line?

It does sound like there could still be a fault on your line, have you tried a known working phone in the test point of your main socket?

I am guessing they have been caused by dirt between the cover and the rear of the phone; but that is despite me cleaning the back and the inside of the back cover regularly. You may have to try deleting all the music from your phone (by going to Settings>General>Usage>Music, swipping All Music and tapping Delete), then sync it all back on with iTunes in order to fix this.

I plugged my iphone in to my laptop to update it and the computer shut down right at the end. My phone now has the itunes symbol and an arrow asking me to plug my phone into itunes (I assume the laptop). It's frozen like that even when switched off

HT4623 Backed up our iPhone on iTunes, started the update. Got an error notice, were disconnected from server. Phone now has an unchangabel plug in to iTunes screen but cant contact iPhone server. What do we do?

Backed up iPhone to iTunes on our computer then started the software update. Got an error notice and phone now has a screen indicating to plug in to iTunes that we can't change even if we turn the phone off and back on. Every attempt to connect to the iPhone software update server comes back with a could not contact message. What do we do? How do we proceed?

Before starting a new discussion I tried everything of your link, google etc... nothing works for me.
I´m using a pc running windows 8, last version of itunes etc.. tried using different usb ports, uninstalling avast antivirus but nothing works.

Slow speed after fault fixed

i had a line fault fixed on thursday,after about 10 days of losing bb sync about 12 times a day, everything seems ok now, but my snr has doubled and speed seems to be fixed to 9722 down and 888 up, before the fault it was about 16500 down and 1070 up, should i see if i can get my snr and profile reset.

HT201412 I recently received an update option with the iOS 6 update on my iphone 4. I pushed ok and after 30 minutes it told me to connect to itunes and reset my phone. I did and the results are my phone now has a blank grey screen and then powers on and

After that it wanted me to reset the phone and after all of this was done my iphone had a grey screen and now turns on and off again on its own with out ever going past a grey screen. It will not reconect with itunes of function at all. Please help

Stabalization period after fault fixed

I reported a fault 5 days ago, something occurred at the BT network due to the storm. I have the connection back now but I've been told it's in stabalization perioid. From my experience whenever you report a fault a speed cap is put onto your connection and before I've had to remind them to remove it, like they just forget it exists. Is the stabalization perid the reason why I'm getting 300kbps speeds instead of 2200kbps and do I need to remind them to remove the cap?

When there is a fault on the line the DLM (Dynamic Line Management) kicks in and will drop the speed of the line down till it deems it has a stable connection. Once the fault has gone, DLM will automatically raise the speed up to what it again deems is a stable connection. This can take two or three weeks and that is assuming the fault has gone/been repaired.
If it does not rise it could be that there is still a fault or the IP profile needs to be reset. This needs to be done by an Openreach engineer. They do not normally reset DLM as a matter of routine, preferring to let the automated process take its course.
Give it a couple of weeks and if it does not improve post back and it may be that something can be done.

10G Reports Hyperlink has strange characters after domain address

To all,
I have a 10G Report that uses a BeforeParamForm trigger to build a parameter called "START_URL".
When the BeforeParamForm trigger ends the parameter START_URL contains the value:
http://SEPAP33:80/reports/rwservlet?omst1
I am using this parameter so that I don't have to hard-code the domain address on the Hyperlink line of the field property.
On the Paper Layout I have a Field called 'Premise' that has the Hyperlink property filled in as:
:start_url+report=e:/apps/oms/premise_outage_detail.rdf+desformat=pdf+paramform=no+p_sdate=&sdate+p_edate=&edate+p_premise=&premise_id
When the report executes it should set the Hyperlink line to look like this: http://SEPAP33:80/reports/rwservlet/?omst1
report=e:/apps/oms/premise_outage_detail.rdfdesformat=pdf+paramform=no+p_sdate=01-jan-07+p_edate=01-aug-2007+p_premise=97
Unfortunately when the report runs the first section looks like this:

Does anybody know what is causing this Hyperlink to be built improperly with "getfile/HWnZXZIgVBOPS/RLkg==" in there? I have used SRW.MESSAGE to output the :Start_URL and it is correct.
I have also tried using SRW.set_hyperlink in the format trigger. The wrong URL value also comes up this way.

Sounds like you have your computer checking a POP account and your computer thus gets copies from the server and you don't have your comptuer set to delete from server once downloaded/deleted thus they are still on the server. Thus when your phone checks the server they are there. POP accounts were never intended for this mobile age.

Is your device recognized by your computer? If yes, copy the pictures and videos as shown in this article:
Copying personal photos and videos from iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer
If it is not recognized, try this first: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
Disable autosync in iTunes, right click on it in the device list and choose "transfer purchases" to copy apps and other media bought in iTunes to your new library.
Do the same again and choose "backup", to create a manual backup without syncing.
Since your device will be erased due to the new iTunes library during the first sync, you can use this backup afterwards to restore your settings and data.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer before you start, to be able to merge calendars and contacts.

Every link on Wikipedia has an icon after it

I just got a new computer (Dell XPS15 running Windows 7). After installing Firefox 8, I've noticed that every single link on Wikipedia now has an icon after it. It's the icon that only USED to appear after links off-site, but now it appears after every link. It does not appear to happen on any other page. Is this a computer problem, a Firefox problem, or a Wikipedia problem?

A number after a link refers to a footnote.
A box with an arrow refers to an external (not at Wikipedia).
There are styles that you can install that will provide more of a breakdown links and if they are PDF files etc. Some examples of such styles:

You can test that quickly by if done with a style enabled with the "Stylish" extension by simply disabling Stylish at its toolbar icon or in the extensions options -- no need to actually disable the stye itself such that you have to take Firefox down.
It is possible that you have a theme doing that try
:View ("At+V") > Page Style > Basic Style (as opposed to a named theme)

The iTunes Store has never officially been available from the Channel Islands, which though a crown dependency are not (as far as the record companies are concerned, and they are the driving force behind these restrictions) part of the UK. The terms of use for the iTunes Store say that access to the UK iTunes Store from outside its country isn't allowed and it's possible that Apple is now enforcing that by technical means.
Sorry, but you're probably stuck at this point.
