Phone number - access when not on line

Hi
If using a Skype Phone Number for people to contcat me and i am not on line can i divert the call to a landline/mobile as i can when people try to ocntcat me on Skype and i am off-line?

Go to Settings > Messages and turn iMessage OFF.
Then go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset Network Settings. Your phone will restart. You will not lose any data, but you will have to re-enter any Wi-Fi network passwords.
Once the phone has re-started and you have a network connection (either 3G or Wi-Fi), turn iMessage back ON.

There's no option to edit/delete the iPhone cache, the cache will be overwritten in time.
If you can't wait, only restore as new can get rid of it.

Ok, I have been on the phone twice now with customer support, all I want is an alert sent to my IPad for data usages !
I want an alert sent to my iPad, or my phone, they can not, or will not do it? My phone is through at&t, Verizon will not except any phone number that is not a Verizon! WHY? my iPad is through Verizon, I know they can send alerts to the iPad, because they did it, they sent me a new password through an alert? I went over on my data plan because I did not get the alert in time, it was sent through email, a day late! Also, i asked about being able to serf the Internet and talk on the phone on Verizon, I was told that only 4G devices are capable, Wow,! I have been able to to this with my AT&T iPhone 3Gs from day one. I am now rethinking if I want to switch to Verizon? Is AT&T really that much more advanced?

Only on the ipad 2 has the reminders i was told. Can u get my verizon app in the apple market? I did that for the iphone4 verizon. U can always sign in my verizon on ur ipad. Even if u switch to get a phone with verizon the ipad is on a different #.

She needs to deactivate iMessage on her device and the re-activate using the correct number.

It depends on what books you're referring to. All books from the iTunes Store are downloaded to your iPad and except for any special features the book may contain that requires an Internet connection will be readable without such a connection.
If you're talking about books from some other source, we'd need to know the source before we could offer opinions.

TS2755 Updated to ios 7, contacts that I have texted are all messed up, just get a phone number or part of a phone number listed when I text, no name. Not even sure my texts have gone through, no response from recipient.

I have updated to ios 7 as has my daughter. Now when I send her a text all that shows up is her phone number or part of the number, not her name. I'm not even sure she is getting the texts because she hasn't responded at all. She is usually very prompt. Is this a glitch with the new ios?

Actually you are not texting if she has an iOS device. Is the balloon the typing is in blue? Check your Settings>Messages and see if it is activated. You might want to call your daughter and ask her the same thing. Check her contact in your contacts app and see if the number is correct and everything is still there.
Then go into Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. This will not affect data. After that, if iMessage is activated, then try sending her a message.

I assume your phone is using your phone number. Select an E-Mail also. Under the Select Area a new Area should show up offering to choose whether to use the number or the E-Mail to start new conversations. Pick the Phone number. Go to iMessage and start new conversations.

On my phone, if I go under "about" it says "my phone number" and it says the second number, under settings, and messaging, it says that I send and recieve messages from the original one. T-mobile, has no idea why this is happening and has tried everything to fix it

This is for iMessages only, not for text messages as in SMS/MMS.
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Apple ID.
Select your Apple ID and at the menu window that appears, select Sign Out.
Turn iMessage off at Settings > Messages > iMessage.
Then follow these instructions.
You can remove an iPhone from your support profile by following these steps.
Step 1: Click on this link to open the login window of your support profile.
Step 2: Log into the website using your Apple ID – same as your iTunes login.
Step 3: Click on the button ‘Edit products’ and select the iPhone that you want to remove from the list.
Step 4: Click on the arrow behind the product, and then click on the button ‘Unregister’ to delete the iPhone from your support profile.
After you unregister your iPhone, on your iPhone go to Settings > Messages > iMessage and turn iMessage on.
Go to Settings < Messages > Send & Receive > Apple ID. Sign back in with your Apple ID.
This should re-register your iPhone with your Apple ID with iMessage with the new phone number only.

How to NOT dial text in phone number with a note like "555-1212 John only"

I have some phone numbers that have text after them like "dont' call after 6". They were entered on Address Book on my desktop Mac. When I call these numbers from the contacts on the iPhone, it dials the letters also, which is annoying since they contintue beeping while the person has answered. Any suggestions on how to get the iPhone NOT to dial these parts of the number? Is there some magic character that makes it stop dialling? What does it do if the number is like 555-1212 x3434?

You may want to take the text out of the phone number field, otherwise the iPhone will assume it's part of the number you are dialing. You can add the "don't call after 6" message in the Notes field so that you can still see the reminder, but the iPhone does not continue to dial after the recipient has answered.
If you have a number that has an extension, you can set up the phone number to have pauses so that the extension can be auto-dialed when you select that phone number. Pauses are found under the "+*#" icon in the lower left-hand corner when you are adding a phone number to a contact. That will allow the iPhone to dial 555-1212, pause for a few seconds, and continue with 3434. You may have to experiment with the number of pauses needed to dial the number correctly.

When setting up a new iphone 5 c can't seem to get the iMessage to work properly meaning cannot send or receive messages and when it does work can only get it to come up as an email not phone number and wen anyone txts me to my number messages don't come through

Your cell phone number will be grayed out under You can be reached by iMessage at - that can't be deselected on an iPhone with iMessage. If your phone number is grayed out and can't be selected under Start new conversations from, that is likely due to the waiting for iMessage activation problem.
