Phone number re-associated with old iPhone - can't receive texts
I have given my iPhone to my son after purchasing an Android, and my son is essentially using it as an iPod. After he updated to iOS 7, my phone number (which I have transferred to my new phone) has become associate with iMessage and I am unable to receive texts on my new phone from people who have iMessage. Is there a way to remove the number from that device so that I can receive texts again? Thanks.
Finally got through to talk to a very helpful technician at EE by selecting account query rather than technical problem on the automated answering system on 150. A reset by EE sorted the problem out and the phone is working fine again.

I had this pop up: Add (phone number) for Facetime and iMessage. This phone number was associated with AppleID on iPhone. I havent used it or done anything. What does this mean? Is someone using my ID and do they have my pasword.?
If it isn't from something you did (like update iOS on an iPhone, or activate a new iPhone), then yes, I would be suspicious.

I have 5 iphones associated to my itunes account but I can't tell what number is associated to what phone. Two of the iphones are no longer in use. Help please!
Find the number on your phone using the Settings app. Then connect that phone and only that phone to iTunes. Select that phone in iTunes and double click on it. This will allow you to change the name of that phone. Change the name to something that identifies the number. Do this for all phones. They can then be all connected at the same time and you will be able to identify which is which.

How can I find out what phone number is associated with my internet service?
It is not on a bill. I can not find information regarding a Verizon account number. Need to know what or how to find out the phone number associated with this account.
It will be on your bill. Everything from VZW has a phone number associated with it. That is how your device dials in and connects with VZW, even through you as a user never needs to.
If you post your VZW device perhaps we can find the steps for you to look up the VZW number directly on the device through some of the support documentation. -
My sister's phone number keeps associating with my mother's name
When I type in sister's phone number to call or message, my mother's name keeps quick filling. This happens when I try to imessage. I have already deleted off my mother's contact. Sister's information still associates with mother's name. How to associate sister's number with sister's name?

My i phone was stolen and now I need to upload my contacts to my i cloud from my I tunes...any ideas how to import contacts into i cloud, with either i tunes or with old iphone?
If you have the contacts on the phone you can sync the phone to the computer. The contacts should then show in address book. At this point you can sync the address book data to iCloud. You have to make sure the iCloud account is setup on the computer and this will not work unless the computer is running 10.7.2 of course. There are other ways to add the contacts to iCloud like through the phone but the phone must be running iOS5. If it is you can simply add the cloud account to the phone and toggle the contacts slider. You will get a prompt to keep or delete the contact data. Of course you keep. Then you will get a prompt to merge at which point you do. This should merge the contacts on the phone with iCloud. Hope this helps.

New hard drive installed in Mac. iTunes keeps asking to authorize a very old email address which is not associated with my iPhone and I cannot sync iTunes to my iPhone.
It is referring to purchases made using an Apple ID that was set with that email as the Apple ID. Did you simply create a new Apple ID when the old email address was no longer being used? If so, then that old Apple ID is still tied (and will always be tied) to the purchases made with it, and you will have to sign into iTunes with that Apple ID in order to authorize the computer to it.
If you don't remember the password for it, you can go to Manage your Apple ID and click on Reset password. If you don't remember the answers to your Security Questions, you can contact Apple Support to get them reset:

Apps and media are forever tied to the AppleID used to download them.
You cannot transfer from downloads from one AppleID to another, nor
can you merge AppleIDs. If you wish to start using your own AppleID,
you will have to redownload all the items you wish - paying again under your
AppleIDfor anything requiring payment.
Logout of iTunes under your old ID and login using the new ID. -
I have two apple ID's. One is an old one I no longer wish to use, but it is the one associated with my iPhone. How do I change to my newer apple ID on my iPhone?
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
If you have used your old ID to purchase content from iTunes or the App store, you may want to continue to use this ID for iTunes only to avoid losing your content. -
In iCloud you have the ability to NOT format phone numbers of contacts; this ability is not available on the contacts of iPhone. If I set-up a phone number in iCloud with NO parenthesis, ex. 123- 456-7899, then this format should be available on the iPhone contact.
That is correct is doesn't. Standardized formatting of phone numbers in the iOS app is more important because it supports contact from a variety of locations (gmail, hotmail, etc.). iCloud doesn't (not directly).

I Have an iPhone 5S and I'm just wanting to use my phone number as my iMessage contact. It only comes up with my email and everyone I iMessage say it only comes up with my email that is enabled and I want to just use my number to have the contact still saved. When I go to enable my number it is 'greyed out'

Make sure “Start New Conversations From” is set to your phone number. If it already is and/or messages continue to be sent with email address, it may be necessary to delete the message thread you already have going and start a new thread after your phone number is selected as the way to start a new message.
iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
Select your phone number when Sending iMessages in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Start New Conversations From.
