Phone numbers not accepted on fax

My personal number appears in the display when I fax and it tells me I don't need to enter 1 and the area code. I can't find a way to change my number nor do I know if that is the problem. After I changed it on the printer, it still had the 1 and area code. I have changed the number I was faxing to but nothing worked.

Phone numbers not recognised (sms & incoming)

After a momunmental mobile me sync disaster (it somehow trippled every contact), I had to wipe mobile me (and subsequently all conatcs on my phone) and restore it from a back up. Activating one device at a time and replacing info on device with new data on mobile me.
When I did this with the iPhone, the contacts were restored, but all messages recieved from my contacts appear as phone numbers not names, so I have no idea who sent them. Also, half of incoming calls have the same problem, not using contact info - just the number. Have backed up & resotred my phone (from said backup) and issue continues.
Any idaes on how to resolve?

It has NEVER been possible to purchase an unlocked iPhone 3G in the US. Your phone was hacked. Updating it has re-locked it to AT&T. AT&T will NOT unlock iPhones for any reason.
The phone is now useless to you. There is no legitimate way to fix this. Buy a new phone. Preferably in India.

I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of your issue. If you are having issues with the passcode used to unlock your iPhone, you may find the following article helpful:

You're phone is locked to a carrier. You will need to contact the carrier you got you're phone from to have them unlock it.

M127fn phone does not give signal fax when pressing 1,2,3

Hi, I am Marc and I am new to this forum. Kindly excuse me of any wrong doing on a prior notice. Thanks! I bought the HP M127fn 4in1 unit one month ago and I am still not able to use this unit fully. On my old fax, Panasonic KX-FP342, when the phone rings and I answer, I can make a normal phone call or press the fax signal button to give a fax signal if it is a fax. However, If I do not answer, the panasonic unit picks up the line and gives a fax signal automatically after 5 unanswered ringtones. With the HP M127FN, I am not able to do this procedure. For description, I have the HP unit connected to the wall outlet and 2 phones in my house. One of the phones is connected to the HP Printer extension port and the second phone is connected to another separate socket ( to the same phone number ). When the phone rings for 5 times and I dont answer, the machine picks up the line and gives a fax signal automatically ( which is the normal procedure). But, the problem is when I answer the line. When I pick up the line and the caller asks me to give him a fax signal, I press 1,2,3 ( i tried this using the normal line and the extension line ) but nothing happens on both lines. So i appologize to the caller and ask him/her to call again which is really annoying me since I get around 10 to 15 faxes per day. I want the unit to answer automatically give a fax signal ( regardless of the caller's type ) after 5 ringtones and I want to answer the phone and be able to give a fax signal by myself if necessary. Fax answer type = automatic, rings type = all rings, extesion phone line = yes, rings to answer =5. Please Help!!!!

Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that your HP Laserjet m127fn phone, does not give signal fax when pressing 1,2,3. I am happy to help! According to page 48 of your printer's user guide: LCD control panel 1. On the product control panel, press the Setup button.
2. Select Fax Setup, and then select Fax Recv. Setup.
3. Select Extension Phone.
4. Make sure that the On option is selected.
With this setting turned on, you can alert the product to pick up the incoming fax call by pressing 1-2-3 sequentially on the telephone keypad. Turn this setting off only if you use pulse dialing or if you have a service from your telephone company that also uses the 1-2-3 sequence. The telephone company service does not work if it conflicts with the product. 5. Press the Back button to return to the Fax Recv. Setup menu.
6. Select Answer Mode.
7. Select Fax/Tel, and then press the OK button. With this setting, the product automatically picks up all calls and determines if the call is a voice or fax call. If the call is a fax call, the product handles the call as an incoming fax. If the incoming call is detected as a voice call, the product generates an audible synthesized ring to alert you of an incoming voice call. 8. Press the Back button to return to the Fax Recv. Setup menu.
9. Select Fax/Tel Ring Time.
10. Select the number of seconds after which the product should stop sounding the Fax/Tel audible ring to notify you of an incoming voice call, and then press the OK button. Hope this information helps! “Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.”

The last bit on it asks for my phone number
I have tried every format of my number , tried random numbers , tried a mates US number but it just doesn not accept it.
does anyone know how to get past this?

I believe you need to share with Apple IDs, not phone numbers. That being said, you can create a shared site that you can share photos with people using a web browser. It's all explained in this article:

Is there a way for my MMS message phone numbers not seen by whole group even after turning off group messaging?

I send messages to a group of people but they are all able to see each other's phone numbers and they can't tell who is sending the message because on their iphone all the numbers appear and I have turned off group messaging. Is ther a way to prevent that from happening?

I am simply lookig for some help not an argument. I am not an RF specialist however have setup a few wireless networks in my tenure at Wynn Resorts. I fully agree that wireless networking is an art and a science however the powers that be in Network Land have toughted wireless networking is the easiest and quickest way to get two computers to talk with one another. As I previously said I have already turned one (1) MBP in for this problem and Apple decided to replace it because they could not fix the problem with my particular MBP. This MBP was running Leopard when the problems started
I am having a hard time believeing that there are several other devicces in my home that depend on a wireless network to operate and my MBP is the only one having an issue. I took this a step further and decided to see what would happen if I tried to connect wirelessly via Fusion. In Windows 7 I am able to print and scan to my hearts content without any issues. I am able to browse the internet as much as I want. I close Fusion and try to connect to my printer via wireless and nothing.
In order to get Apple to help do I need to get a Network Analyzer and capture packets when I have these problems? Out of the 1000 + posts is there a consolidation of which answer is the best? BTW I am accessing the internet via a wireless connection using Fusion and Windows 7.
In response to Linc's comments, I will look at the router specifications however I did not qualify that these devices are not using the wireless connection at the same time. Right now I would guess there are maybe two (2) or three (3) at the most that are actively transmitting / receiving information. -- Thanks

Phone numbers not appearing correctly in Messages

I love the new feature that allows you to reply to anyone in Messages, not just users with iOS devices.
However it doesn't seem to be bringing up my saved contacts correctly. On my iPhone I will receive the message with their name as it is saved in my contacts, where as on my Mac it comes up as just their number. One year ago I moved from the UK to the US, and although I bought my Mac in the US, when I go to reply to the number on my Mac, it is adding +44 in front of it, so obviously these messages are not going through (or if they are they're going to the wrong person!)
Is there a way around this? To set my Messages up to be default to +1, so therefore the numbers come up correctly as they do on my iPhone??

Phone numbers not properly formatted

I just upgraded to the 4S and most of my phone numbers can't be dialed by SIRI because they are not properly formatted. The numbers that can be dialed are of the form +1-617-nnn-nnnn. The numbers that cannot be dialed are of the form nnnnnnnnnn. I have hundreds of numbers in this format. Any ideas?

Have you tried Settings > General > International to make sure your phone is not set to some incorrect region which might give it trouble interpreting the numbers?

'other' phone numbers not synchronised from outloo...

when synchronising contacts in outlook, phone numbers that appear under the category 'others' as oppose to business, or mobile are not synchronised. they show up in outlook, but not on the phone!
is it possible to either:
a) synchronise these
b) automaticaly change the number type to another,
c) solve this problem in another way?
the contacts were all synchronised from an earlier phone, where they show up as normal....

I saw that post and i had to reply for it.
A little-great-working solution for that is to run those 3 lines (one line at a time) on powershell and all the "Other" lable contacts will change to "Mobile" label and here you go, like a magic - all contacts phone numbers are now visible on the phone again.
(Drop the 1. 2. 3. from the lines of course)

I believe from the situation you describe your iPhone 3g has the iPAD baseband 6.15.00 which is interfering with iTunes. Remember Apple does not allow downgrade of software typically. The current 3g firmware 4.2.1 has a baseband 5.15.04 which is lower than, what I believe your baseband is of 6.15.00. So to install the current 3g firmware 4.2.1 would actually be a baseband downgrade, which iTunes will not allow. So to fix your iPhone you will have to search the Web like diesel vdub said. There are no parts to buy and your iPhone will work again I promise.
