Phone randomly rebooted itself twice?!

I have a Curve 3G 9300 and today it froze and then went into the black reboot screen with the white bar going across showing loading progress. I didnt ask it to do this nor did I press anything as both times it was in its pouch playing music. Can anyone tell me why it has done this please?

Been having the same problem, except mine is like every 5 min, so I called AT&T customer no-service & was told the phone was under warranty, so upon being transferred to the warranty dept. they informed me that even though it was under warranty, they would not replace it until I upgraded the OS to 5.0.What a load of **bleep**! I was going to throw the thing in the trash I( was so frustrated (like I have the time to sit around & wait 2 or 3 hours to fix a problem that they should be doing themselves,) but the wife convinced me to give it a try in my "spare" time, so I did the upgrade this evening & the phone is 10 times slower & reboots about every 5-10 min. still!!!!I will never buy a Blackberry again. They may be alright for some coorporate people, but not the everyday users!

Recovery Mode is your last resort per the instructions here.  Also, read this.

  • Phone randomly rebooting for no apparent reason

Yesterday my phone started randomly rebooting. No apparent reason. No physical damage. No recent software changes that I am aware of. I have auto-update of apps turned off. Verizon store could not explain it. Forced soft reset did not fix the problem. It happens continually with a reboot, operates for a bit, then instantly shuts off and begins rebooting again until the battery is completely drained away. On the Droid Razr Maxx there is no way to remove the integrated battery so this means it goes until the phone is dead. Seriously overheating it in the process. What do I do?

The power cycle is what I referred to as a forced soft reset. Does not fix.
I tried the flush of the system cache. Does not fix it.
It took some time to be able to copy off the phone data in the 8GB of internal memory during the brief time the phone is available prior to the next reboot cycle. Afterwards I did a complete factory reset. Does not fix it.
After the factory reset it takes the phone a few minutes to initialize itself. But the phone reboots itself before this phase can complete. I have tried at least 20 times to see if I can get lucky and have it finish before the next random reboot cycle. No success. So now I have a completely wiped phone that can not even get to the home screen.
I have taken excellent care of my phone. Doesn't get dropped. Spent most of its life in my pocket. No misuse of any kind. It does not seem right for it to just stop working for no reason like this. Is there a way to get Verizon/Motorola to refurbish or replace it?

  • Router randomly reboots itself almost every night

I've been with Sky for a few months now and this is becoming an increasing frustrating problem. Everything is fine until, somewhere between, I think 10pm-2am, the internet would slow down and after a 2-3 mins - grind to a halt, the connection drops (smiley face disappears from router) before it re-establishes a connection. This doesn't feel like an interference problem as the connection does not just drop - it gradually slows down before reseting itself. At first I thought this was just a firmware check/update but surely this cannot be happening almost every single night? I've called Sky to run some line checks and everything seems normal. I'm already at the master socket and done the usual checks. Now I'm starting to think that somewhere between my router (SR102) and Sky, there is some sort of scheduled 'link refresh' which makes the connection reset itself almost every single night. Anyone with a similar problem - any advice much appreciated.

Mine is the same but reset randomly (Disconnect and connect) about 20 + time a day. Rang Sky and done all test, I am thinking it was the Sky hub (Router) might have gone faulty but they not offer to replace it and want to do more check.
Mine once on smily face in Amber, it sometimes doesn't turn back to white which mean broadband is not connected at all. It has been 1 week now like this.

  • MacBook randomly reboots itself!

    Hi,
    Can anybody please help?
I have a newish Macbook with bootcamp installed......
Windows is working fine with no random crashes what-so-ever......
However on the OS X side I am having random re-boots.....
I will startup my computer and all will be fine for a few seconds until all stops and the computer restarts.......
This happens randomly at different times, although mostly when the computer has just started up or woken from sleep.
I would just take my Macbook into an Apple shop to ask them to look at it for me, but since I am a trainee teacher I have next to no free time!
    Thanks for your help!

I'm having this problem with a first generation MacBook. I do not normally notice it because my MacBook is always on and never goes into sleep mode. But if I manually put it to sleep by closing the lid, some time after waking (less than half an hour) it it will spontaneously. Same goes for when I turn off the MacBook and when I turn it on again

  • Phone reboots itself

When I make a call or receive a call the phone suddenly reboots itself within a few minutes into the call.
Any hep on this matter would be appreciated.

Unlikely... more like something simply did not load correctly.
Restore as new to confirm it's not simply a setting issue.

My Macbook is randomally rebooting itself (seems like it's juicing memory like it was a hot day). although I have 3 things opened (firefox, word, powerpoint) it seems like it's too much for it.
    It's a Macbook 13"- Aluminum from late 2008

Yes, Andy is right, I overlooked that: you MUST use absolute correct specs for Apple macbooks, and your 1333MHz is not the right spec. Luckily 2x4GB 1066Mhz is very cheap, change the modules. Use Crucial (they have a configurator) or OWC.

  • IPhone 4 randomly reboots

I've notice my I phone randomly reboots during daily use.

I am getting this also. I've removed several applications, espcially GPS based ones and i'm tried just sticking to the well know applications. The phone of occasion will freeze (requiring a forced reboot) and othertimes just rebooting itself (shows white apple logo). Had the phone since launch (now 7 days) and it's crashed 12+ times.

  • Neo 3 Platinum random reboots

Hi, I have an old build as stated above that I sold to my son in law.  It has been working fine for about three years except the cheap power supply died about a year ago (it came with the box) so I replaced it with a seasonic.  Anyway, it recently has started to randomly reboot itself once or twice a day.  It's hard to believe it is the power supply.  If it was wouldn't it just turn off and not reboot?  I haven't had a chance to actually look at it yet but was wondering if anyone knew what would cause random reboots.  It isn't overclocked.  Thanks

PSU can also be blamed for random restarts. as the PSU heats up, the efficiency goes down and this my cause your system not to receive enough power, thus shutting down or restarting. i would suggest to test with a different PSU if all the memtests are OK and the system temps are within normal ranges.

  • Iphone 5 random reboot. Any way to fix this?

Hey guys, I bought an iPhone 5 about a month ago and now i've noticed that it randomly reboots itself. Goes into a black screen and the apple logo appears. So I was just wondering if there was any way of solving this problem?
    Thanks in advance

have you by anychance been using a program called "Phone Clean" its a  ipod, ipad and iphone junk file cleaner, I have been getting random  reboots and panic.plist entries ion my iphone and have linked it to this  program, i factory restored sent the device up as new never touched  that program and havent had a random reboot since nor any panic.plist  entrys

  • IPad 2 16GB iOS 5.1.1 Randomly reboots???

I just got an ipad 2 16GB, brand new I installed the IOS 5.1.1 right when I opened it up. But ever since I turned it on it is now randomly rebooting itself. For no reason, just crashes and then shows the apple sign? What should I do?

First thing I would try is to do a restart of your own, Hold the home button down and at the same time hold down the power button.  Wait for the screen to go black and the Apple logo to appear and in a few minutes it should restart.
If you have already done this I would do a reload of the OS from iTunes.
If that doesn't work I would take it to Apple and have them do a refresh of the OS or replace it if there is a hardware problem.
    Good luck.

  • IPhone 5 random reboots, won't power on etc.

Launch Day iPhone 5 (totally out of warranty).  Replaced the battery myself after 600 full cycles on 2/5/14.  Battery #2  worked great for 6 months then wouldn't hold a charge and died completely 9/14/14.   Put original battery back in until battery #3 came.  Wouldn't keep a charge and died.  Presently, only one of the three batteries will make the phone turn on, and the phone randomly reboots and hovers between 3-11% and will not charge any higher.  I have tried multiple official apple lightning cables and power blocks, updated the phone to ios 8, restored and set up as new to ios 8.  don't know what else to try.
Anyone ever replace a battery, have this happen, or anything similar.  I started to think it was crappy ebay and amazon batteries doing it, but all three batteries acting crazy ? not too sure now.
I should note that home, power, and volume buttons and touch screen work perfectly.  I have checked as best of my ability to ensure that all connectors were seated properly inside the phone.
thanks for any help. have changed about 25 iphone batteries between the 4, 4S, 5, and 5S.

Apple does not sell any service parts to consumers.  Any 'replacement' battery you used is either:
    A) Counterfeit
    B) Salvaged
    C) Stolen
Therefore, I'm not surprised you've run into problems.
Additionally, this forum does not allow discussion of non-approved service methods.  Therefore, I suggest you seek answers to this questions elsewhere.
Also, your iPhone is now no longer eligible for any kind of support from Apple because of the unauthorized modifications, so service or support for Apple, even for a fee, is not available.
    Good luck.

  • IPhone crashes and reboots itself every 2 minutes after updating to iOS 5.01

I saw other people complaing about problems with their devices after updating to the new firmware, but this one wasn't one of those problems. After updating to iOS 5 I did have a few crashes but then some time passed and they stop. The battery meter also seemed to be okay. It wasn't until today that the problems not only came back, but became much worse. I updated the firmware to 5.01 and not only is the battery acting up again, but my phone crashes every 1 to 2 minutes. Suddenly the screen goes black, I wait like a minute for the phone to reboot itself, then it's another minute of it working properly and then the same thing happens and it repeats all over again. I guess it might be important to point out that I'm with a 3gs, which I bought from a country (in Europe) in which I'm not right now (I'm still in Europe though), so there is no way for me to get any help from tech support.

Ok nevermind that, I restored it via my PC and so far I haven't had any problems (it's been a little less than an hour, so I'm still keeping my fingers crossed)

  • Nano keeps rebooting itself while updating

So, whenver the ipod first sets itself up, renames itself, etc., everything seems fine. I then start loading songs onto it and it seems to be going fine, until it randomly reboots itself. And when windows recognizes it again, the corrupt file ballon pops up. itunes now recognizes it as a generic IPOD, not the renamed one from setup. And it says there's anywhere from 200 to 600 mbs used up on the ipod, but there's nothing on the thing. So I restore it... and it goes through the same process all over again. So I uninstall both itunes and the updater, reinstall, restore... do the five rs thing untill the cows come home, same thing every time. Reformat the ipod with the hp utility? Sure, doesn't help. Nothing I've been able to find on this forum or apple's support site is of any help.
I already returned one nano for this same problem. The second one keeps doing the same thing. So you would think its my computer, right? That is, except for the fact that my wife's nano works just fine with no problems whatsoever. What the heck is going on with this thing? Could it be a bad batch of nanos? Should I bring this one back and try a third?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

i had the same problem ... and came across it again.
try disabling windows write cache it worked for me during a while : http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,1819756,00.asp
