Phone reboots when certain songs are played on the music app?

on my iphone 5c, if i try playing certain songs in my music app, they play for a few seconds and then my entire phone reboots. i have a lot of music on my phone and all of the songs that do this are from the same album. it also didn't start doing this until after i updates to ios 8. i've tried looking elsewhere to see if someone else has had this problem but i've come up empty. its really inconvenient because i can't even listen to those songs now. i've also noticed that its only when i have headphones or an auxiliary cord plugged into my phone.

If you are having issues with your restarting when certain songs are played through headphones, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPhone -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

Your right!! I should have given details.
I don't like the new music app for iOS 5.
You need to constantly use iTunes to change play list content etc.
Podcasts won't play in a loop.
Even the iPhone has more control in the music app.
I wish Apple had given more music tools instead of removing them.

Does the EQ setting affect only audio played from the Music app?

Does the EQ setting in Settings -> Music affect only audio played from the Music app or does it also affect any other audio? Specifically, I'd like to know if the setting is applied to audio podcasts that are played from Downcast. Thanks!

Songs Are Not Showing in Music App

I have synced my iTunes library to my iPad Mini. If I go to Settings > About > General I see the correct number of songs listed. Also, all my restrictions are off. However, my songs are not showing in the music app. If I am at home and on the same network I can see them listed if I go to the Music > Library > My Library. But if I am away from home I do not see this option and do not see the entirety of my music library or playlists. Has anyone else encountered this?

You are seeing the Shared Library in Home Sharing. You have to be on the same WiFi network as the iTunes library that you want to share, so that is why you see those songs when you are at home. The songs that you see in there are not on your iPad.
For whatever reason, all of your songs did not sync correctly. How are you syncing? Are you syncing automatically and if so have you selected the entire Music Library to sync? Take a look at this. The fact that it is written for the iPod doesn't matter since it works the same way for any iOS device.

Every time a call ends or I miss a call my podcasts start playing. I realize this is because the app is only paused and not stopped; however this is a problem I didn't have before the podcast app when it was just integrated into the music app.

It also does this after I use Siri. I have an iphone 5 and it does the same thing on my 3gs. Since I forget to stop the app frequently it becomes annoying to have podcasts starting at random when in a meeting.

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. Beatport songs cant play in my music app on my iphone

All the songs I bought in beatport Not working in my music app on my iphone, what can i do?

I'm having the same problem with MP3 downloaded from beatport.
The songs are added and listed normally on the iphone; when I try playing them, the player (and the iphone) freezes completely; sometimes the player crashes, sometimes it will recover (go back to the songs list)
Sometimes the track will play normally.
This started happening around february 2013.
I will get in contact with Beatport to see if they have seen this proble,
This happens on tracks on the recent album by "The Black Dogs" Tranklements (the track "Bolt 3533f (Original Mix)" is having this problem.

My iPhone 4s has all the album artwork but when I click on artists in the music app it doesn't show any pictures for them

It shows that all of the albums are there with artwork and it says that the artists are there but it is only showing the blank white tile with the writing on it instead of the picture for the artists.
Can anyone fix this?

So after looking a bit closer i have noticed that when i have the phone plugged into the computer it shows the songs but when i dont have it plugged in and i go so the song icon on the bottom of the music menu screen it says i have no songs!

I updated to iOS 5.0 and now only certain songs are playing on my iPod

I have a few songs on my iPod that aren't playing, you touch the song, and then the iPod freezes and crashes and will bring you to one of 3 places: the lock screen (slide to unlock), back to my playlists menu, or to my first page of Apps. It just started happening with the iOS 5 update. At first I figured, "probably some corruption while updating, no biggie I'll just restore." (note that all of my songs work on my MacBook Pro), but after restoring and then checking a song that I knew for sure wasn't working before it still isn't working.
Notes: It won't work in any of my playlists OR in the preset, "songs", "artists", "albums", etc. lists.

Firefox 4 was bad but Firefox 5 is awful !!
It's slow to start, hangs, everything seems to take forever to do and i've never had so many page errors ... which i think is due to the time it takes to get things to load.
Firefox 3 was great, why have we been landed with this millstone around our ankles ??
I have another laptop still running the old FF and it's positively rapid compared to FF5.

That indicates the song files are not corrupted.
Connect the iPod to your computer and look at the storage used by the various categories as shown in the colored bargarph in iTunes.
Come back with the results.

How do I put these songs and videos onto the Music App?

How do I load mp3 content, videos, and other content from applications onto the music app? For example, I have applications such as Video Hunter Pro that downloads youtube videos, but how do I put the videos or audio track into my Music app? I don't want to constantly switch apps. For iTunes on all devices.

Only items directly downloaded from iTunes Store or synced over from iTunes on a computer can be placed in the music or video app.

This has been bugging me for a little while. I bought myself a new bluray player awhile back and it has a USB hookup for ipods. This goes the same with my vehicle too. I have a few good playlists with some great songs, however, when i hooked it up to my bluray player, some of the songs didn't appear in the playlist that are not normally there. I disconnected the ipod and had a look on the screen and sure enough the songs are there, but they are just not appearing on the bluray player. This only happens for some songs, not all of them. I was disappointed at this because I really wanted to hear my songs. So I decided to download the WHOLE album off of itunes from which I got the song from and sure enough, this time the song appeared on my bluray player and it played in the playlist.
Why is this? Is there a way to make it so that I can have all the songs play without downloading all of the albums?

Did the original songs that do not appear on the car player play in the Music app on the iPod? Sometimes glitches happen and they do not. Also, If y ohave a 5G iPod/iOS 7, purchase songs will show with an cloud icon by them if they are not downloaded if Shall All is turned on in Settings>iTunes and App Store

Songs stop playing in the middle of the track

Ok, so I've got hundreds on songs in my library and I noticed that certain songs stop playing in the middle of the song on my iPod. I get dead air, and then it starts playing the next song on the list even though the screen still shows the album art of the song that died. I have deleted the song from my player and then re-downloaded the song straight from iTunes only to have it happen again. I decided to run a little test and play that track on both my iPhone (3GS) and iPod (iPod Touch bought 2013) and sure enough, the song dies around the exact same time on both devices. I did not try syncing either devise to my computer (music files are not on my computer hard drive, but on a separate hard drive), so it wasn't like I kept removing and syncing a corrupted file. Now I'm finding more and more tracks have this same issue. So I have two questions:
1.) Is there a way to identify corrupted music files on my devices or will have to listen to each track in it's entirety to identify whether it is corrupted or not?
2.) Will I need to repurchase these tracks in order to correct the problem of playing in it's entirety?

I have similar problem on two photo sleeks - affecting the same songs. I think it is a problem in the ripping of the CDs rather than the hardri'ves - otherwise it would affect different songs?

Playing my music and sounds in the Music app in iOS5

I've loaded sounds and music that I've made onto my iPad via iTunes and they have played in the Music app quite happily in iOS4.
Now that I've updated to iOS5, only songs I've purchased in the iTunes store play, those sounds and music I have made will not play.
Is there a setting I should be aware of that will enable them to play?
It's annoying because it means I cannot use my iPad to play my sound work to directors...

It would help if you said exactly what steps you took to get your music from your old computer to your new one. Also where your music was located i.e. was it all in the iTunes Music folder or was it in other folders in My Music - this tends happen if you saved music outside iTunes.
The exclamation marks mean that iTunes can't find the tracks.
Note that one thing that can go wrong is that your account name is not exactly the same as it was on the old computer.
The default loction for iTunes music files is:
c:\Documents and Settings\<youracountname>\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music.
You can see that the accountname is part of the location.

Agree about the disaster part. I haven't found a fix within iTunes.
I gave up and switched to downcast 2 days ago. Even though it was a hassle to re-subscribe to all my podcasts, im so much happier.
To make switching easier, I found that in iTunes you can "get info" on the podcast and copy the RSS address to the clipboard. Put all of these in a message note. When iCloud syncs the note to your phone, you can copy and paste the urls into downcast one at a time to subscribe.
Downcast has crashed on me occassionally when I'm subscribing to feeds, but so far it has recovered gracefully each time and no data was lost.

I had to reload all my programs after a hard drive problem. Now certain songs are skipped over or only play for a sec or 2 then it jumps to next song. all songs played before. Some are Itune bought and some are my old music.

I had to wipe my hard drive clean and reload all my programs. After reloading Itunes, I noticed that some songs will not play, they are skipped over, or the songs plays for 1-2 secs then it skips on to next song. Any ideas what I did wrong? Not necessarily. It could be just an intermittent fault.
I want to Format my Zen Touch and reload the Firmware to start from scratch, but I first want to backup my 28 GBs of MP3 and WMA files. However I noticed that when I transfer the files to my hard dri've, all the ID3 Information is gone. Now adding ID3 info to 28GB of files will take days!
Strange. Did you edit the tag data on the player? If so what happens is the tag data changes are made in the Music Library but not in the files themselves. There's only one way to write the changes back and this involves getting a copy of MediaSource 3. You then transfer the files back to the PC Music Library, and use an update function to update the files (the PC Music Library will have the same tag data as the Music Library on the player). One problem is that MediaSource 3 is very large, and not available from Creative as a download. I can try and get a copy to you if you can't find it elsewhere.
