How do you manage the recents call log other than clearing all of the entries?

You can clear all and use calimits which can take long call history.

IOS 8 - Screen freezes accessing Recent call log items

We are having many problems with the devices upgraded to iOS8 (8.01, 8.0.2 and 8.1). The problem is the loss of Dialpad phone.
The iPhone 5 and 5c are extremely slow to navigate in the options inside the icon "Phone". For example, the keyboard appears when I enter the phone and can dial normally, however when I click to see the recent calls log, it crashes, it takes around 30-40 seconds to open the list of recent, after that we can return to keyboard and connect. If at that time, we click on Recent constantly, the screen goes white and locks the keyboard, you can no longer make calls or resetting the device only coming from the factory settings.
The problems intensify after enrolling into de ActiveSync environment, but we have tested several e-mail accounts and the same problems happen for all devices in Brazil, we also made these tests on devices from US personnel and the error does not occur.

I have had the same problem but here is some additional information.
I am based in the UK but traveled to Brazil taking two iPhones (5c and 5s), both with IOS8.1.2, both with a UK contract with Vodafone.
Within 1 day of arriving both phones suffered the same problem: the "phone app" became unresponsive, with the favourites, recent, contacts and keypad buttons taking about 1 minute to have any effect. Sometimes the phone vibrated when a call was received but the phone app did not start so I could not answer the calls. The in-coming phone number was all zeros. The phone became useless.
Resetting the phones did not work.
When I got back to the UK the phones were both still unresponsive - it was as if the phone app had been "infected" in Brazil and would now not work.
I backed-up one of the phone, restored the iPhone loading 8.1.3, restored from the backup and the problem remained.
The only fix that I have found is to completely rebuild the iPhone, not restoring from the backup.
What I don't understand is how connecting to a Brazillian phone network caused these issues and why the stayed when I was no longer connected to it!

Consolidating "Recents" call log

Hello! Is it possible to consolidate my RECENTS call log so that I don't have multiple entries from the same contact/number? I've searched and read to no avail... and get the sense there isn't a way, but thought I'd toss this out there..

I agree we run a family business and I get 60 - 120 calls a day.
I love my Black Berry because it only lists the last time there was a call to a specific number, it only shows the last time I talked to or missed a call from that number.
When I use my iPhone I miss calls because its all scattered everywhere.
So I use my Black Berry for my phone and my iPhone for picuters and emails.
I wish there was a setting for this or an app.

Phone app (call log) stucks/hangs on z30

Hi, I'm using z30 and os is 10.2.1.3062. when I get miss call, phone app (call log) stucks. It won't work until I restart the phone. Please any one let me know how to resolve this problem.

I don't use any of those other than BlackBerry community app.
You have two alternatives. Search and see if anyone has found some problem with any of the apps, and maybe narrow it down to a likely suspect. Or else just start deleting one at a time. But focus on apps that might interact with the phone app or phone log database.
If you delete an app and problem goes away, then that's good, especially if you don't really need the app. If you add the app again and the problem returns, then you have repeated the problem and pretty much confirmed the app is the problem, at least for you. If you add the app and the problem doesn't return, then maybe it was a corrupt bit of app data or a setting that was cleared, and perhaps it will happen again.

Is there a way to save the "recent calls" log/list?

I would like to be able to document the calls made to particular clients. The info I want to document/save is shown on recent calls (newest iPhone). Is there a way to copy/paste or otherwise capture this information so it can be printed?

There's no way to print this from the phone. You could take screen shots of the recent call list, the email the picture to yourself and print from there. Also, some (perhaps many) carriers provide your call history when you log into your account on their website, which would give you another printing option.

Iphone 4 phone recent calls incoming or outgoing

Is there a way to delete one specific recent call instead of having to delete them all ??

Swipe from left to right on the call in question, and you'll see a red "Delete" button appear.

New iphone user. Not happy with the call history log. Only goes back a few days. Is this right or can I change settings to change that? Blackbery call log history was endless.

Two iPhones on same account showing combined call log

My husabnd and I just upgraded to iOS 8. Same iTunes account, we use google accounts to try and keep contacts, etc separate. Messed around briefly with family share but decided to stick with just sharing account. Howecer, our phones now share the recent call log. For example, I called him and he didn't pick up as he was busy at work. The missed call appears on my phone's recent log as a missed call....from myself. It shows people/numbers he has called during the work day - I obviusly did not call any of these people.
IS this a new "feature" of iOS 8 or did family share mess something up? family share is not turned on on either phone.

iPods are not tied to specific accounts. Only iTunes libraries are. You can hook up any iPod to your account and sync your library onto it. You can then move the iPod to a different library and sync it to that library instead.
Sounds like your issue is with iTunes libraries and authorization. First off, are you trying to use the same iTunes library? Or do you both have different user accounts on the same computer? Or do you have two computers?

S40 call log complaint

Has anyone noticed that with recent S40 phones (eg 6600 slide, 6700), in the call log, when you have called / recieved a call from the same contact multiple times, you can only see the date/time/duration of the MOST RECENT event? In previous phones (eg 6300), you were able to see the date, time & duration of the last 5 (I think) events from that one contact. Annoying much?
This should be changed, sometimes you need to know previous dates/time and call durations of people you have spoken to or tried to call!!

why there is too much philosophy in call log with arrows. if nokia try to make it like its symbians system please don't.
if nokia not fix this issue in the next update. me and my staff going to leave nokia forever. we used to have nokia 6233 and have no problem with it at all.

If they were in your most recent back up and you restore your phone to that back up, you'll get them back. If they're not in the back up, there's no way to get them back.

Restore your phone from your most recent backup. That's the only way to restore it.

Question on call logs?

On my bb storm in recent call logs there is one heading only for each contact I called and if you want you can view history. On my x each ind. call is listed separately is there a way to eliminate this? I call my office a lot and it fills recent call logs.

Unfortunately the software on your DroidX is working as designed and is designed to list each call separately regardless if it's from the same contact.

Adding recent call to contacts in iPhone 5c

11-14-13 Open your "Recent" call log, carefully tap on the little icon to the right of the number..it's a circle with the i in it. Then scroll down to "Create New Contact". You can also "Add to Exsisting Contact" and "Block this Caller" when you are in this area of the screen. Hope this helps.

I'm sure they have better things to do (like work on the iPad) and as there hasn't been an OS update how did you expect it to happen ?

Can't see any recent calls

Regarding my iphone 4S - There is no history in my "recent" call log. I was fooling around with it one day and then everything disappeared. I click on "missed" or "all", but there is nothing. I have no idea how to get this turned back on.

The next step after restore from backup is restore as new. Then test the device, and if it works, then restore from your backup. If the problem comes back, it is a problem in your backup. You would need to restore the device as new again and sync back your content individually.
