It restored the backup that was made on your computer 6 months ago, which did not contain those photos. You're wasting your time trying to find them on the phone. They don't exist.
Hopefully, your friend syncs her phone to her own computer on a regular basis. She needs to plug her phone into her computer and restore it from her last backup. That will restore it to the state it was in when the backup was made.
She also needs to get in the habit of extracting the photos on a regular basis, like she would from any other digital camera.

Win 10 store beta needs to update but wont update?

hello i upgraded to windows 10 tech preview build 10041. when i went to store beta it said it need update now i clicked in it started downloading 24.0 mb update but it stopped saying "Error, try again" i keep trying again but wont download update
so i can get into store =(

I am not one to give up. So I called AT&T today. Now they are telling me they canceled my order because they were unable to fulfill my order. Basically, AT&T told me they sold out so they canceled my order so I can proceed to reorder again. It took them 4 days to realize this. I will be lucky if I get a new phone by Christmas. I am sure they will find a way to cancel my order again.
Again, I argued, how is this my fault. I placed my order at the store around 11 a.m. Pacific time. My friend ordered his phone online sometime after me. He got his but my order was canceled. AT&T tried to explain to me that they sold over 600,000 phones, almost 500 per minute during there peak. Again, I asked, how this was my fault.
I can understand over selling the phone. It is a great product. There is no reason to cancel my order. You adjust my order and tell me you will let me know when my phone will be in. I would have been mad that my phone was going to be late but I would have survived. At least I would be getting one.
At this point, I have no order and AT&T or Apple website will allow me to order one. I just want to get in the QUEUE for one.

Phone displays usb and itunes logo but wont restore

my daughters iphone has stopped working and has a usb and itunes displayed on phone, and when i plug it in to laptop it says it has to be restored so i did this 4 times but keep getting the error 1002 come up,i have clicked around itunes for help but just end up going around in circles as it gives no advise as to what to do. can anyone help please.
the phone is a 3gs and is a reconditioned phone it has worked ok for a month but now has this problem and wont work at all.

I hooked up my phone to my computer so that I could have my contacts restored, instead it made a new save point effectively losing the info I needed. Is there any point to backing up your phone?

When you Restore from backup, iTunes renames the current backup and adds the date to the name and new backup is named Your_iPhone_name iPhone.

Why does phone say there's no SD card when one is clearly installed?

I've been trying to move apps from the phone to the SD card, but when I try to do this, I get a message saying that my phone doesn't have an SD card installed. I opened it up, and sure enough, there's a nice 8GB SD perfectly seated. I took it out and reinstalled it, powercycled the phone and I still get the same message. What gives?

This is completely untrue. Google has "revamped" the security method with which they allow access to the SD card. If an app allows being moved to SD, you can still move it to SD. If an app is capable of using SD for storage, it is still allowed to move data to SD. The issue is, some apps have not been updated to work correctly with this model. If something that you have does not work with SD and it used to work with it, contact the app's developer and ask that they update the app to allow use with the new Google SD card protocol.

This usually means there is dirt, lint, or foreign material in the iPhone's dock connector port and it doesn't take much, and/or the dock connector port has some moisture damage which doesn't take much either.
If due to moisture damage, it will not be covered under the warranty.
Apple doesn't do a la carte repairs. If there is no hardware damage and there is no change after the standard troubleshooting steps and your iPhone remains under warranty, your iPhone will be exchanged under warranty.

The 'problem with a previous purchase' message implies that iTunes wasn't able to collect the money for your last purchase - until that is paid you won't be able to download anything else from the store, including free items, updates to apps and redownloading past purchases.
You will have to enter payment details that are accepted by the iTunes validation, or (and if they are available in your country) redeem an iTunes gift card onto your account : Pay an unpaid balance in the iTunes Store - Apple Support
