Phone screen not lighting up?

I have an LG Extravert, prepaid. For the past month or two, I have had a lot of difficulty with the screen. It often does not light up. It lights up, but nothing displays, and it often shows up in negative, or backwards, or fades away. I have been trying for an hour and a half to get it to light up, without success. If I can't fix this or I have to get it repaired, I'll have to buy a whole new device, somebody help!

I'm so sorry your having screen issues with your Extravert. I'm not showing any known issues with the screen on that device. We may need to troubleshoot it further to get to the root cause. Please call our prepaid team at 888-294-6804. I'm sure they can get to the bottom of this.

Make sure that you have do not disturb off. If you pull up notification center it will be the crescent moon.

If you dropped the device and cannot get it to start up, then you have probably damaged it to the point it needs to be looked at by Apple or your Authorized Apple Service Provider, whomever handles service in your location. User damage is not covered under warranty, so be prepared to pay.

Phone screen not reappearing to end call

My iphone 5 since ios7 update, will not recognize the phone being tilted/moved away from the ear when done talking...the screen remains black so I cannot end the call until I tip it a couple of times. Any suggestions?

do you have a case on your phone and is it a 3G one (it should be)-
The wrong case or a badly made case often causes an issue if the case is covering the sensor which senses when the phone is to your era by the lack of light. Some cases get in the way or may be moved up to cover the sensor whilst you are on the phone - the sensor is located just to the right (as you look) or the speaker

Iphone4 screen not lighting

my iphone4 screen blacked out while using it. still can swipe passcode key by guess and answer calls. took it by a technician and he indicated that the privacy screen (tinted) caused the screen to burn out. cause sensors at front of screen indicating that the lighting is dim and automatically increased the lighting to maximum. can someone let me know if there is any other option i can try besides holding down home button and lock keys? thanks

Since you had a 3rd party open your phone, Apple will not assist you further. I suggest you bring it back to your "local mobile store" and have them check it out.

Macbook pro 13' screen not lighting up?

Usually before i go to sleep i eject my time machine; plug in the magsafe and close the lid on my 13 inch mid 2010 Macbook pro runnign ML 10.8.2 with 4 gigs ram . The next day I just lift the lid up and hit some keys on my external keyboard and the mac wakes up. For the past few days, close to a week now, when i do this the screen doesn't light up. I can tell that its on because of some faint outlines of the log in box, but the screen just deosn't light up. If i unplug the magsafe the screen lights up like all its normal. I can then plug it back in and it works fine. I know its a minor inconvenience and I haven't worried to much about it. However, today i did all this and logged on. My mac wasn't conencting to my wifi and system preferences was jsut refusing to open. I decided to restart it but it kept asking me to force quit all my applications (Mail Calendar Itunes Safari, System Pref, notes, Istat pro Now its working fine again.
Do you think that these two incidents are related? I assume that they are isolated but its still strange.
How can i fix the screen problem? and should i worry about this second wifi/system pref issue?

Phone screen NOT working but phone IS working

Like the subject says, my screen is not working, but phone works fine.
I was able to guess the 'turn on USB storage' button and I got everything backed up.
I didn't drop or let my anger loose on the phone =P.
This is my 3rd replacement phone! I read another thread on the first page of someone complaining they are on their 4th phone. Prior to that reading, I was hoping I could upgrade or convince them to give me a NEW phone rather than a used. I guess that won't be happening.
I also tried all sorts of battery pulls including waiting 30min before I put it back in...none of this worked.
So I guess my best bet atm is to take it in to the store?

I am on my second Droid. The first one was damaged due to me dropping it. I have insurance and had a replacement sent to me. A month later I get the BSOD Black or Blank Screen of Death. I did the battery thing as well as a hard rest and nothing.
I am three months away from an upgrade and I am starting to think of downgrading to just an ordinary phone.
It seems that smartphones are too problematic and require dealing with multiple parties i.e Verizon, Motorola, and the Insurance company for the phone.

N97 screen not lighting up when message recieved, ...

i have a debranded n97 unlocked, latest firmware v20.0.019, and i don't know whats happened,
i basically have disabled the auto key lock, and i used a security lock after 1 minute, 20 seconds my light goes out,
anyway after a couple of minutes, if i get a text my breather light comes on only (which is normal) however the main backlight does not come on, it used to do this before, what is the problem? ive not got any apps on my phone either, i use the phone memory for everyhting, contacts, messages, etc. i have 2 email accounts + 400 messages in my main inbox,
i dont know why the main backlight wont light when i get a message, this is doign my head in as sometimes i keep my phone on my desk and the lighting up of the backlight makes me notice the phone has a message, i cant keep on going on like this, anyone know why this is or am i going to have to do a f/w wipe and update again?
can someone please test this ?? im using no third party sw either

Unfortunately, I'm facing the same problem with my N97 using firmware v20.0.19.
Any reset, hard or soft, did not solve the problem.. It's a new bug..

Some portion of phone screen not working.

I bought my iphone 4 in december 2011 from UK.
Its incurring a problem from past 2 weeks. Some portion in the middle is not working which disables me from using key 7, 8, 9 in the phone keypad of making calls. I tried reseting my phone but the problem still exists. Since I reside in India, I cant get it corrected from Apple service centre in India and there is no scope of me going UK by December 2012.
What should I do? Please suggest me.

I have exact same problem. Top portion won't respond and Apple was not helpful at all.
The options presented to me were:
-199.00 for a replacement
-99.00 for 3g
-199.00 for 3gs
None of the above were acceptable solutions for I too spent alot for a device which I expected to last more than 2 years.
I would have been ok with a discount on an upgrade to a 3gs but I paid full price and bought the service plan becuase I anticipate a problem with my 3gs within 2 years.

I need to talk to someone from vzw about my phone screen not turning on. Because the phone won't turn on, I can't call to get assistance. Why is it so ******* hard to get help online and be able to talk to someone????

The S4 has documented issues with the display going dark for no apparent reason. This happened to my wife's S4 twice, and both times the phone was replaced under warranty. The problem seems to originate with a small, undetectable crack under the surface glass on the LCD display. These cracks develop structurally and not the result of abuse or accidental damage.
If you take it to a Verizon store, they should be able to confirm there is no damage to the phone and get a replacement under warranty ordered for you. At least, that's how it worked for me.
Oh...just for kicks, try holding down the home button and the power button together for 10 or 15 seconds. This is a "reboot" of the phone and may or may not have any effect.

Dropped phone, screen not broken, but is completely black

I recently dropped my iPhone, but was relieved when I picked it up and the screen wasn't cracked. However, the screen is completely black. I've tried to turn it off/on, I've tried to hold down the on/off button and the home button at the same time, nothing. It will vibrate intermittently if I plug it in to charge. My question, is this a screen issue, loose cable, can it be fixed? My other question, are my texts on my SIM card? If so, if I purchase a new phone, can I trade out my SIM card and my info/texts/pics etc, transfer to that phone?

If you've backed up to iTunes when your pics, text, voicemail, etc should move over if you buy another iPhone.

8gig ipod touch screen not lighting up can see if look closely but cant slide the unlock or anything either will not show up in my itunes either

Try:
- A reset. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
- Restore the iPod from backup
- Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod
If you still have a problem then it is likely a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

My iPhone 3gs will not turn on, charge, or allow me to perform a hard reset. iTunes nor my computer recognizes it andthe screen wont light up at all. What can I do to fix this?

I have an iPhone 3gs that is out of warranty. I purchased this phone from AT&T. Last night my phoone went completely dead (battery percentage was at 96% just moments before) and now will not turn back on. I have tried just about everything I have found on discussion boards- trying hard reset, plugging into itunes, charging for15-20 mins then holding down sleep and homebuton..... NOTHING works. This phone will not light up AT ALL. My computer wont even recognize it. Is there anything else I can do?
