Phone screen will not change when turned

Just recently the phone screen will not change direction whn the the phone is rotated. Any ideas?

Double-tap the Home button to bring up the background applications. Then scroll to the left until you see a gray icon with a circular arrow -- that locks/ unlocks the screen orientation.

My iPod when i turn it to either side it wil not turn. It still works with no problems. I've tried everything from restarting to restoring. This problem is very aggravating if anyone can help I'd be much obliged. Thank you.

Do you have any applications that depend on the iPod's ability to turn sideways that you could test out and see if they work?
The free application iHandyLevel would be worth downloading and opening to see if the leveling capabilities respond when you angle the iPod. If not, you've got a hardware issue and the iPod needs to be repaired.

The display on my iPhone only works vertically.  It will not change when I rotate my phone.

Swipe up on the bottom of the screen to expose control center and see if the orientation lock is on (top row of controls, far right; looks like a lock with a circular arrow).
Not all apps support orientation changes, BTW.

  • The button on my Ipod Touch (the big one just below the screen) will not work when I press it. Nothing happens, when before it would wake my IPod out of sleep mode, and exit out of programs I was using. Now, no reactions. What should I do?

The button on my Ipod Touch (the big one just below the screen) will not work when I press it. Nothing happens, when before it would wake my IPod out of sleep mode, and exit out of programs I was using (ex. ITunes or Safari to main screen) . Now, no reactions. When I press the button, it appears to be more indented then it was before. What should I do? Do I need to get it fixed or replaced, or is this a problem I can fix on my own? Whatever it is, I really need some advice. Thanks in advance.

  • My screen will not roate when I am face timing.

My screen will not roate when I am on facetime or gaming.  Someone suggested that the roate is locked to on.  Anyone know where this setting is?

Double tap the home button (opens multitasking) and scroll one page to the left. All the way to the left there will be a gray icon with a swirled arrow - just tap it once and the orientation lock will be turned off.

  • Statistic report with figures that will not change when rerun months later

    Hi,
Is there any good practices that we can follow to create statistic reports with figures that will not change even when rerun after few months later?
My scenario is my statistic report is generated based on data that is "alive" which means the record will get change after a period of time. So, if you generate the statistic report in for January 2006 in the month of January and regenerate in May for the January 2006 statistic, the figure is different. But what I want is to be able to get the same figures.
I know in this case looks like we need some sort of summary tables, so posting this to get advice on the best way to design such summary tables. Please comment if there is other ways of doing it.
Summary tables may work for statistic report, but how to support detail report listing where the records are required to be the same when it was generated few months ago.
    Please advise.
    Thank you.

What happens, when you execute a report today is the following: a select statement is fired at the data base and the result set is displayed in the report. The data can change after the moment you launched your report. What you could do to keep the result set the same, is implementing a user parameter that fills your date discriminator.

You may need to try this More than Once...
But... if the Device has been Modified... this will Not necessarily work.

  • TS3474 The ipod display will not orient when turn...picture will move when turned.  Thank you.

I've reset the ipod nano..downloaded the software again and still the display will not turn when the ipod is turned.  I don't know what else to do.  Does this ipod need to be sent back to Apple?  It's 6 months old.  Any other suggestions?  It's a 6th generation nano bought as a bundle with a armband and changer for Christmas 2011from Best Buy.

So you placed two fingers such as your thumb and index finger in a pinchlike fashion on the Nano's display and turned them clockwise and counterclockwise and nothing happened?
If so, you have a hardware issue, meaning you'll want to have the iPod serviced or replaced.

  • My iPad does not ring when I am getting a FaceTime call.  And my volume is on.  Also I have noticed when I charge my iPad at night I no longer hear that connection sound that it used to make.  And lastly, my iPad will not flip when turned.

I no longer get a ring tone in face time when receiving an incoming call.  My volume is turned on.  Then I noticed when I charge my iPad at night, when I make the USB connection, it does not make tha connection sound any longer.  And now my iPad will not flip.  It only stays in one direction.  Has anyone experienced these things?  I do not know what to do about these issues.  Thanks.

Have you tried resetting your iPad?
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"

  • Can't write, reply or forward messages as screen will not open when these function buttons are clicked

I can receive emails but when I try ti write a new one or reply or forward existing emails, the usual screen does not open. Instead a small window opens in the small task bar at the bottom of my screen in Thunderbird and whilst I can hover over them to see them no amount of clicking will bring them on to the full size to use. I am on Windoes 8.1

Thanks for your quick reply but although it did not solve my problem, I found that other functions were not working this morning and after a good deal of head scratching I found out that it was the remote Microsoft keyboard attached to my laptop which was causing all problems! It was only a few months old but I have now bought another but Advent this time and all is back to normal. Thanks once again. Conway Hall

  • Verizon iphone full keyboard screen will not shift when texting

Just got the VZN iphone yester...and it seems like the keyboard shifts to full keyboard for all other functions except when i text message, How can i fix? this is very frustrating....

what do you mean by this? The keyboard should be the regular standard keyboard when text messaging. A screenshot could help
take a screen shot by pressing the home button and sleep/wake button at the same time for about a second
the screen will flash and a picture will go to your camera roll.

  • IPhone stopped working. Black screen, will not charge or turn on.

Hi, new to the forum, looking for some help with this issue I have. My iPhone 4s was working just fine this morning, the alarm went off, I sent a few texts, browsed the internet and then left it alone for around an hour on lock screen. When I came back, the phone was unresponsive, a complete black screen with no indication of life to present. I have tried holding the home button down for 10, 20, 30+ seconds at each times, and still not response. I have plugged it into my computer while on iTunes, and that also has no results.
Another problem which is have, is that the Sleep/Lock button does not work either and has for some time, I have had to resort to using the touch assistance from the settings for turning off and plugging into to charge to switch on, so I cannot use the button to hard-reset the phone.
My phone warranty has ran out and the nearest apple store is over two and a half hours away, hopefully someone can guide me in the right direction on how to fix this matter, thank you.

I had this problem too before. There are two things you can try to resolve the issue. The first is to plug your iPhone chord into your computer that's running iTunes (don't plug in the iPhone yet). Now since you said it isn't showing up in iTunes if possible use a different computer. Next what you have to do is plug in your phone while holding the home button and it should come on. If that doesn't work then what I did was put my phone in the freezer for 10 minutes (yes sounds crazy) and it came on. If none of these things work then you can find many programs on the internet that can help boot up your phone.
