Phone service has gone downhill

Have had our phones for a little over a year and very sorry that we purchased them...Right now it seems that we have lost the 4G and even 3G on our phones. Also a huge amount of dropped calls which never happened before. Our phones do not ring when someone calls and also does not indicate a missed call. Please help me out as to getting all my services back since I am paying for them. Does anyone have this problem besides us? Oh another major or 2 our area does show that we are in a 4G and 3G area and TMobile put up a tower yes a tower on our residential street last year ugh. My opinion right now is to tell Verizon to either fix the problem and give us brand new phones not refurbished ones.

Glad to hear that you are getting replacement phones.
Safe Mode allows your phone to boot with only the default apps that came with the phone and no downloaded app or installed app from the android market can be found showing in the phone in safe mode. In safe mode you will be able to access the Application manager and be able to uninstall applications which might be causing problems or causing your phone to have problem in a safe way.
Getting into safe mode is diffferent for many devices, but is described in your users guide.

How come the FTTC speed estimation has gone down.

I'm confused as to how the FTTC speed estimation for my phone number has gone down, it's now showing as 33.8 when it was 39.9. Currently I'm sync at 68 and 20 up. The only thing that I can think that possibly has caused the estimation to go down is the fact that I had line issues for a year or so and always got sub 25meg speeds?

Most of the checkers results are now lower it looks like they have updated the checker data from more up to date line data now that there are more fibre users

My phone service has malfuntioned several times in a 3week period. incoming callers cannot hear me but I can hear them. I've called about this several times but its persistently occurs. Twice during family emergencies. What is the PROBLEM?

Using WIFI when phone service is interrupted

My phone service has been interrupted due to the recession. Is there a way I can still access my apps by using my WIFI? My computers are all connected to my WIFI, but the iPhone shows wifi connection all grayed out. If I go to settings > Choose a Network and choose my network (which is all grayed out), it is set to BootP and HTTP Proxy as Auto, but iPhone still does not connect through the WIFI.
Any solution? or am I just out of luck until Obama gives me one of the 16,000 IRS jobs coming up for health care LOL Well, I thought it was funny. Apparently, he's hiring! Private sector just isn't.

I understand you are having issues with sound output on your iPhone 4S. For troubleshooting steps, the following article provides the best information:

1. Verify that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack, including headsets, headphones, or adapters.
2. Make sure the Ring/Silent switch is not switched to silent.
3. While on the Home screen, adjust the volume buttons. If you see the icon below, indicating that headphones are attached, there may be debris or an object lodged in the headset jack:
4. Check the headset jack. If there is an object lodged in the headset jack that is not easily removed, have the iPhone serviced to remove object.
5. For Original iPhone: If there is light debris, such as lint, in the headset jack, try connecting a pair of headphones to the headset jack and then remove the headphones. Repeat this several times to remove the debris.
6. If you have installed a protective film on the display, either ensure that the receiver is not covered or remove the film completely.
7. Check the receiver mesh (which is on the top front of the device, above the display). If it appears blocked, use a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush to carefully and gently brush away any debris.
8. If you have paired with a Bluetooth headset that is nearby, either use the headset or turn Bluetooth off (choose Settings > General > Bluetooth).
9. Restart the iPhone.
10. If restarting the iPhone doesn't resolve the issue, try restoring the device.
11. If the issue persists, go to the Service Answer Center - iPhone for information on service.

Unfortunately, iOS 7 is too hard to push for the iPhone 4 and therefore has a lot of effects turned off to try to get it to run as smoothly as possible.
However, it becomes better and better with each update coming but it's hard to do anything about the hardware on an already released phones.
If you still have trouble or think they are too hard. My tip is, if so, to restore your iPhone 4 and make a clean setup with no iCloud backup. But all your photos in a photostream so you can access it later.

Thanks for your reply Michalo. I am in India and here Apple care does not work on Sundays. I have been without my phone for the entire day. Perhaps tomorrow will bring some respite. There is not solution to "error (-1)" on any forum it seems. I found one forum which suggested use of Tiny Umbrella. Any idea about that?

I paid for it so I'd really like to avoid paying again just to see this movie. Is it because it's on my iPhone? I can send and receive calls.
I get "messaging stopped" when doing a lot of texts.
Texts come up "ghosted" meaning they have the text on the bottom and a transparent one overlaid on top. they then become one. But I get the ghosting most of the time when I go into a message from a contact to send a text.
When I go to call logs or text logs, the numbers come up first, and then then the names pop up randomly, meaning not in order down the page, until they are all shown. lots of lag time.
It runs slow.
I have 5 apps on here. I should be able to have a lot of apps on here, and play music, and have files, and...and....and.
I can get online but doing a Google search, when the page with the choices comes up, it is blurred and I have to tap on the screen for it to become clear and readable.
When online and scrolling, it hitches sometimes/lags/gets stuck then unstuck
I get VZWAVS has stopped. (not sure if those are the right letters)
The status bar that is supposed to be gray with the new update, goes back and forth between green--the old os--to gray. And I have found no continuity with when I get green or when I get gray.
I get a black screen on occasion.
sometimes the proximity sensor doesn't work.
sometimes when I have my bluetooth on and have "hands free mode" on, I get the a text message read through the headset and also through the handset.

When you say you have Internet service, are you connected to wifi? Have you tried a reset on the phone? Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo, then release. The phone will reboot. After it starts, see what happens. Do you have a valid SIM in the phone, one that is activated through a carrier? Have you contacted the carrier to see what they say, since phone service is a carrier responsibility?

Whoa whoa no need to go restoring stuff yet, once you've done that check to verify you have done what Overlook2011 IF that doesn't work for calendars ensure your default account for calendars is set to iCloud and in calendars that it is told to "Show all calendars"

Your iPhone is in recoverty mode at the moment so to possibly get it back up and running you would need to do a restore as you have been trying. Follow the steps in the article below for the specific error messages you have been receiving. If after following all steps the issue remains book an appointment at a local Apple Retail Store to have the iPhone evaluated.
