Phone shuts down when pairing with bluetooth

I've had a Samsung Renown for a while and just installed a new hands free device in my car. When I pair the phone with the HFD or pair the HFD with the phone, it connects, then the phone reboots and the connection is lost. Any ideas ?

I researched your issue with the phone resetting when pairing to your vehicle, and I have some good news!  It appears that there were some problems with pairing via Bluetooth to vehicles using the old software on the device.  You can view your software by going under Settings & Tools> Phone Info> SW / HW Version.
The new software is u810.DE01.  If you have any version besides u810.DE01, you will need a software update to fix the issue.  If your current version of software is u810.CE14, you can most likely update to u810.DE01(the new one) over the air. All you need to do is go under Settings & Tools> Phone Info> Software Update> Check New.  You will then be prompted to update the software.
If this over the phone method does not work and you have u810.CE14 as your current software or you have an older version of software than u810.CE14, please take your phone into a Verizon Wireless Store to have it flashed with the new software.  In the software update notes to the u810.DE01 software, there are very specific details about it resolving issues with pairing with vehicles.  This sounds like an open and shut case of a software update.

Please update us if it fixes your issue!

My iPhone 5 screen is black and will not come back on. The phone still works when paired with my vehicles Bluetooth what's wrong with it, and can I fix it?

I have a similar problem.  I restored my iPhone 5 to the latest available OS.  After completing the process the phone never restarted.  The phone was fully charged when I restored it but now refuses to charge past the red battery icon.  I have been able to get the phone in UFD mode several times and have been able to load the new OS on the phone.  The Apple logo does come on and the software fully loads.  iTunes tells me the phone will restart but never does.  I left it to charge all night but it never appeared to load the battery.  This morning I went to the Grand Central Terminal apple store for help.  A woman at the store plugged the phone in but it never charged.  She absolutely refused to believe that I got my phone in UFD mode and loaded any software on.  I don't think it is a battery issue.  The only solution I was given was to buy a new phone.  Repairing it was out of the question.  At this point the phone is completely useless.  Thanks in advance for the help.

  • Why did my phone shut down when I started updating software?

Why did my phone shut down when I started updating software?

    Hi Patraposo,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It is difficult to know why devices behave unexpectedly; however there are several articles on the Support site that can help recover your iPhone if the update did not complete.
If your iPhone will not turn on, start with the steps in the "Power/Battery" section of this article:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
If you just see the "connect to iTunes" screen, the steps in this article can help:
If you can't update or restore your iOS device

If you see another symptom, feel free to reply with more information.

  • Why is my phone shutting down when the battery is @ 94% doing anything with it? Is the recent upgrade a chance to get us to buy and Iphone 4?

My I phone 3ga 16gb shuts down when I open any app and surf any webpage unless plugged in to the charger. I have 94% battery and as long as I don't do anything with the phone except answer it when I get a call it will stay on. I recently upgraded it to the 4.3.5 os and was wondering if that is my problem? if it is how do I get it back to an older operating system?

Highly unlikely that 4.3.5 itself is the problem as there would be millions with the same problem... there are not.
Restore your 3GS from your backup.  If still a problem, restore as new, i.e. without your backup.  One of those will most likely solve your problem.  If not, you may have a defective battery.

  • Phone shuts down when deleting photos, please help

WHen I connect my iphone to the computer, I can get the pictures from the camera roll with no problem. If I choose to delete the photos after transfer, or If I manually select the photos, and then press delete, the phone stops responding, shuts down and restarts without deleting the photos. I can delete them one at a time directly from the camera roll on the phone, but that takes a long time and I simply dont think that deleting them all at once should be a problem. Has anyone else had this problem, that can help me fix it? Apple says that they have never heard of this before, but I cant possibly be the only one with this problem

I confirm the issue: this did not happen with Firmware 2.1
    iPhone 16G with firmware 2.2.1
    Windows XP Pro SP3 - 3.2GHz 2G RAM
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Plug iPhone into USB port
    2. When the dialog appears accept the use of the Scanning Wizard
    3. Elect to pull all of the photos from the phone, and check the
    "delete when done" box.
    4. Observe that all of the photos are pulled successfully
    5. Then the wizard says "deleting pictures 1 of 455"
    6. There is a pause - obout 20 seconds
    7. The iPhone then reboots with no warning
and the wizard thinks it has finished: reports no errors.
I have seen this issue reported elsewhere on Apple forums, so think
that other people are seeing the issue, too.
e.g. "Deleting photos using Windows Camera Wizard makes my iPhone reboot"

  • InDesign shuts down when dealing with Arabic

The program shuts down after approximatelly 30 seconds as soon as I start playing with the font - changing to Simplified Arabic etc.
The same problem occurs on two seperate computers, where CS was installed  - work computer where I'm using a purchased version and home computer where I have a trial version installed.
I didn't seem to have this problem until I downloaded a script for RTL.
Now I have donwloaded the Arabic version of CS6 with an in-build RTL option and the problem is still present.
    English materials work fine.

Um. This post is full of guesses.
I am going to guess that under Edit -> Preferences -> Clipboard Handling you have "All Information" instead of "Text Only." Is my guess correct?  Because copy/pasting RTL stuff from Excel has been problematic for me in the past when Excel's native styling made it into InDesign.
    I would furthermore guess that:
    1) it worked before because the RTL text flow was turned on in Word, and that info carried across on the clipboard, but
    2) now when you try to turn on RTL text flow in InDesign it's freaking out on "Left to Right" versus "Default direction" properties
So my final guess would be that a change in workflow will end the crashes. It's a long shot, but I would suggest that you either
    1) Only File -> Place documents, never copy/paste
    or
    2) Change the Clipboard Handling settings to Text Only, and continute using your copy/paste workflow. But the text will always flow in the wrong direction until you apply one of the RTL paragraph direction scripts.
I'd strongly sugggest that you abandon the habit of copy/pasting complex-script text. It's a disaster, really. Most of my complex-script workflows tend towards trying to strip as much Word garbage off of text as I possibly can, all the way down to raw Unicode text when I can do so, and then placing those stripped-down files into Word.
When I can't do that (when I need to preserve some parts of Word formatting), one trick that I've used in the past is to have character styles called "Overt LTR" and "Overt RTL" in Word when I needed English words in the middle of Arabic paragraphs, and vice versa. This is necessary because InDesign has a setting that I don't think Word has: "Default Direction." So in a mixed paragraph, it will try to apply LTR to Latin script and RTL to Arabic script. This causes problems of all kinds, especially when you have mixed numerals (e.g. phone numbers in Arabic numerals, but all other numbers in Hindi numerals).
But since Word and InDesign handle complex and RTL scripts quite differently, there will always be some pre-InDesign hygiene necessary, and some significant cleanup within InDesign once the text is in.

  • Phone shuts down when connected to USB

I'm trying to get my Desktop Manager to work with my phone, but everytime I hook up the USB cable from the computer to the phone, the phone just shuts down.  Not sure if it is supposed to do that but the desktop software says the phone is not connected.  Tried downloading drivers to the computer, and tried looking in Options on the phone for some way to not have it shut down but have come up with nothing.  Please help.

What the hell?  now i get a "JUM error 102" during the loading screen and my phone wont even start up?  .

  • Shuts down when held with one hand or tilted

My Macbook Pro recently started shutting down if it was tilted on my lap or if I grabbed it with one hand in the middle left hand side. It is very weird and any explanations as to why this is happening would be appreciated.

I know it's always like that .. how about trying to nail the scenario well so you can demonstrate there ?maybe catching it on video ???

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.
If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
But if the behavior continues in Safe Mode, then you may need to consider more drastic actions -- WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload, and the "Bare Bones" OS Reload Process. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup to your PC...please review the Backup link in my auto-sig on this post for instructions.

  • Volume shuts down when connected with dock connector

When I plug my ipod into a portable speaker, the volume does not work and the volume bar goes away.  I have tried resetting the ipod but it did not work

How are you connecting the iPod to the speaker?
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. Bring the speaker too,

  • N900 shuts down when opening slider

Does anyone else have this problem? I believe I've figured out that it happens when I put a certain battery in it. I have three, total, because my previous phone was a 5800, so I had ordered an extra one. So, now I have three that I can use in my N900.
I think it is an official Nokia battery because it looks exactly like the others...
Anyway, my phone shuts down when I open the slider, using a fully-charged battery. The lights dim as if it is a power failure and it does not reboot like the others having the reboot problem...
    Sorry for rambling on!
    Any ideas? Thanks
    Recent phones: N91, N95-4, 5800xm, N900, E7, & now the beautiful N9

    Hi guys
I have a very similar problem and have been unable to enjoy my phone!
I got a new N900 yesterday, for the 2nd time, but the device is still manifesting the same symptoms:
    - shuts itself down regularly, whether in use or not;
    - sliding the keyboard back in causes it to shut down;
    - it shut down when it was taken off the charger;
    - I left it on the charger overnight and it stayed up all night (>10hrs);
    - even when it is on (for a short while) the screen stays inactive and blank permanently, and the device shuts down when I attempt to slide it open to check that it is indeed on
    - attempt to start it up again are not always responded to, and when it does it starts to boot up and then dies again
    - it barely stays up long enough to use it for any purpose
    - sometimes the charger responds to the power supply and sometimes it doesn't
This was exactly what was happening with the new one I recieved from and sent back to Nokia within days. They asked me to return it without the battery and charger and claimed to have tested the new one before sending it back to me. I have put in the battery and used the charger from the previous new device.
I have tried to analyse the problem and I am beginning to think that the issue might be related to either a dodgy battery or charger. What do you think?
I have asked Nokia to send me a replacement charger and batter. In the meantime, have you any suggestions I could try?
    Thanks.

  • When deleting find i phone app i erased my apple id and since then my phone shut down as soon as it is opened what can i do ?

when deleting find i phone app i erased my apple id and since then my phone shut down as soon as it is opened what can i do ?

    Do the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID.  If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.)  Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID).  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

  • If your iphone 3gs just shuts down when theres something wrong with your hardware,is there any possible way to get all your pictures back?

if your iphone 3gs just shuts down when something went wrong with your hardware is there any possible way to get all pictures or other important stuff onto itunes?

What happened to the phone. Did it just go black? Did you try to plug it into Itunes and see if it can be seen or throw it on the charger. You can still try the reset procedure listed in http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430 and see if the phone turns back on.
The only way to get things back is to have backed them up ahead of time.
