Phone shuts off after I hang up the phone
For the past week and a half whenever I use my phone to call someone or answer after I get off the phone and press end call my phone shuts off. Completely goes blank for about a minute or two. I can not turn it on, press my home button or anything during this time. Then in about 2 minutes my phone turns back on by itself. I am unsure of what this problem is?
Standard troubleshooting steps in order are; power the iPhone off an on, Reset, Restore, and if no change after any or all of these steps, call AppleCare (800) 694-7466 or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.

I'm having this same problem. The phone display goes black after a phone call ends. I am not able to get any image or reponse at all either by pressing sleep or home or anything. A few minutes later the display will suddenly appear on its own.
Even worse, the same time this started (about 10 days ago) no one can hear me on a phone call. I can hear the other person with no problem. My i PHONE is useless until I get this resolved. -
I recently got my iPhone 5 unlocked and the other day I updated my phone to ios 7. After doing so my phone shut off and turned on and it said I had no service. I guess it completely wiped out my unlock. I was wondering if anyone knows what I can do to fix it!!
How, EXACTLY, did you get it "unlocked"? ONLY the carrier it's locked to can authorize unlocking it. Anything else is a hack.

Upgraded ios on iphone 3GS to ios 6.0. I manually connected to the wifi and it works. After the phone shuts off, it will not connect back to wifi when it turns on unless I reconnect manually again. I have the "Ask to join Networks" button turned on. Frustrating and could get expensive if I forget and start using ATT data. Suggestions??
Settings, Reset, Reset Network Settings. Then attempt to connect again. Passwords will be deleted when you do this, so it will ask for the password again. After that, see if it will connect.

You may need to try this More than Once... Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Take your time... Pay particular attention to Steps 3 and 4.
After you have Recovered your Device...
Re-Sync your Content or Restore from the most recent Backup...

Note. Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything... and you must continue with the Recovery... -
i unplugged my iphone 3gs ios 5.1.1 and started playing..i played for about 2 hours,BUT the battery didnt change!!!...after about 4 hours,the phone suddenly shuts down...i recalebrated the battery (by hard reset)..but didnt help...so HELPPP PLZZZ!!!!!!!..+ when i charge my iphone, i dont see the lightning bolt,instead, i see a plug icon...i know this means th@ battery is full, but my battery is no where near full!!!!!
Just a quick update with a couple more details before I go to work:
I left my phone plugged into the wall charger all night long but the Apple logo is still blinking on and off. However, when unplugged from the charger, the screen goes blank and the unit does not respond to pressing/holding the buttons at all. Likewise, flipping the mute switch does not cause the phone to vibrate as it normally would, which made me wonder if power was being disrupted somewhere else in the unit before the battery. I just finished disassembling the unit down to the battery, looked for any loose connections etc., and did spot a suspicious looking spot on top of the #5 ribbon connector that I had not taken notice of before in my first disassembly. I'll take a picture of it and post a link for your consideration later on today when I have a spare moment, although I fear the worst. -

Welcome to the discussions,
normally you could try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back. But since the sleep button is unresponsive, try to restore "as new iPhone", if necessary without using the backup afterwards, in case the backup contains corrupt data.

It's an issue with hundreds of phones. Some claim it's software related, some hardware, some say it's a mixture of both.
Some people have had temporary success with quitting the Phone.app / restoring as a new phone / restoring from an iCloud backup / disabling Siri / toggling speakerphone on & off...
Unfortunately all of the above only been temporary, with the problem recurring again after a few calls, or a few days etc.
So far the only solution that seems permanent has been to replace the phone. But even so, it's the luck of the draw to recieve a functional phone, and not another faulty one.
I'm completely annoyed as there is no Apple Store near me...... and Apple haven't even acknowledged the issue, despite the above thread being 34 pages long, as of writing. -
Is there a way to remove my facebook contacts from my phone contacts list? I had an iphone 4 and it was easy to shut off from teh contacts through the groups link at the top left, but the iphone 5s does not have this feature nor can i figure it out through the settings feature or anything else....HELP please as it is annoying to see all of these contacts!
Hello ymprice91277, let's solve this mystery! To unlink the Facebook contacts go to Settings, Facebook, turn off contacts.

I have an ipod shuffle 4th generation. I would like for the music to automatically shut off after one hour long song rather than going to next song on the list. Is this possible?
Sorry, but it's not. The only way to get this to work is to only put the one hour song on your Shuffle.

If you drained the battery, it may take a bit for it to come back. I'd plug it in and leave it for a few hours and see if it's charging.
If not, you can try to do a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the white apple, let go and let it reset and see if it charges.
It's also possible that your battery has reached the end of its life. THey can only handle a finite amount of recharge cycles. If you can't get it to hold a charge, then make an appointment at your local apple store and explore your other options. -
