Phone Stay Lit During Dock for Alarm Clock

Hi. Is there any way to keep the phone on when it is docked so I can see the clock? I essentially want to use the phone in the dock as a normal alarm clock. Even better would be some kind of interface that has the iPhone alarm clock, and then under it the weather forecast or something like that. Are there apps that can do this now?

There are apps, just search for clock to find some.

  • Iphone 4 background stays lit during calls

My iPhone 4 stays lit during calls and causes battery to run low and inadvertently mute me. I've had my screen replaced by citymac and after doing some research I'm guessing it's the proximity sensor. Is there a setting on my phone to turn off the background in a call or is it a valid assumption to make that the proximity sensor is screwed up. If so, how much will it cost to fix?
    Thanks in advance,
    Zach

    Hi,
    Is Your iPhone Under Warranty?
The Proximity Sensor , The Black Spot ( Above The EarPiece ) Has Been Damaged Or Is Faulty.
If Your iPhone Is Under Warranty, You Can Give It To Apple Or You Can Get It Changed By A Third-Party Dealer.
I Cannot Comment On The Pricing As The Cost And Quality Of Sensors Is Different Everywhere.
    Thanks.
    Hope This Helps.

  • Large selection of tones for alarm clock but only 6 for sms :(

why is there large selection of tones for alarm clock oh yes and you can use own own custom added one but only 6 rubbish one which dont even work half the time for sms
will apple ever fix this ?

No one here knows if Apple will ever fix this, but it the 6 rubbish sounds available for SMS don't work half the time, having a larger selection of available sounds for SMS now wouldn't be working half the time for some.
My chosen sound for SMS works every time.

  • IPhone 4 stays lit during calls

My iPhone 4 stays lit during calls. It causes me to hit the mute, FaceTime and contact buttons during calls. I took my otter box off and it still does this. Can anyone help me?

This is Proximity Sensor problem. This sensor is located on the Power Button Flex Cable. If the iPhone front screen has been replaced this is known problem. Restore iPhone with current iTunes on computer.

  • LCD stay lit while docked?

    Hi all,
I've noticed that when my 160GB is docked and I'm either syncing or have the iPod set to manual, the LCD stays lit. Is this happening to everyone else? When the iPod is set to manuyal is when we need the clock screensaver.
BTW, when playing music, it would be nice if there was an option to have the LCD go to minimum brightness instead of turning off. This wasn't a problem with my iPod Photo but what that LCD turns off it is almost impossible to see any text. I hope the backlight of my classic doesn't stop working like my iPod Photo's backlight did.
    Thanks,
    Steven

I believe that "feature" was added in the second go around of the 5th generation iPods where when plugged in and syncing or mounted as a drive, the backlight stays on all the time but at minimum brightness.
As to your second comment, you can set the LCD backlight to the minimum yourself then set the backlight timer to always on.

  • Is it possible to set a new default ringtone for alarm clock?

Just wondering if it is possible to set a specific ringtone to all alarms in the alarm clock without changing each alarm individually?  My husband needs a MUCH louder alarm tone than the default.
    Thanks.

    Thank you for posting.
When you say "Is it possible to set a minimum sale amount for eCommerce - $20 for example?", are you saying the customer should not be able to check out if he has less than $20 in the shopping?
If so, then it is not possible. I've not seen such kind of custom set up in BC yet. However, I'll leave this post open. If any of our partners have done it before, they might be able to help you.

  • Speaker for alarm clock not working

I set the alarm clock for seven AM which seems to come on and flash, but I don't hear any alarm coming from the ipod touch. any ideas? thanks

This is a bug. Whenever you sync it screws up your alarm. If you hold down the on off button for a few seconds and then slide the red slider, and then turn it back on, it gets "fixed." But it will get screwed up again.
This is a BUG. Keep reporting it directly to support!
    FIX IT APPLE!!!!

  • Screen stays lit during calls

I just got a new 3Gs and while making phone call the screen doesn't go black which causes me to hit the mute button. I do not have it in a case or have any stickers of any kind on it so I'm sure that the sensor is not being covered. Any suggestions?

Could be a faulty proximity sensor.

  • Alarm Clock apps?!?!?!?!?!?

This is quite ridiculous. The clock app that comes with the iPhone has absolutely NO customization options whatsoever when it comes to alarms, and its just flat out lame. (Apple really outdone themselves to keep everything absolutely simple, they failed, as in functionality, on this criteria this time)
I went on to search for alarm clock apps on the app store and found this free version of Alarm Clock Pro and tried it out, I liked it a bit, it offered a bit of customization than the built in clock app the iPhone comes with. So I went on ahead and bought the Pro version for .99 because the ads on the free version were annoying.
But wait, you have to leave the alarm clock app opened throughout the whole night for it to work to wake you up in the morning? HUH?? WHATS GOING ON?? I always wake up to find that half of the battery from my iPhone is drained because of the alarm app!!!! Ridiculous! I previously owned an android phone and was able to quickly find a free alarm clock app on the market that offered even more customization and all for free, and you dont need to have the app opened for it to work!!
Someone please tell me there is something else for the iPhone that can be like that, while I already wasted .99 cents on the suppose BEST alarm clock app for the iPhone, I'm even willing to pay for a new alarm app that offers the same exact thing the android has to offer.

Unfortunately no alarm clock app will wake you up to a mp3 from your library when it's not open.
This is something Apple has not allowed. We tried to come up with a solution ourselves with our alarm app but as other developers realized it cant be done . We are still working on a solution though; not giving up!
Our app if interested is alarm app that wakes you up and speaks short weather reports to you http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sleep-fm/id388631053?mt=8#

  • Alarm clock - how to make it sound only, no vibration

    Hi,
I hate being woken up by a vibrating iphone : is there a way to have a "sound only" mode for alarm clock?
    Thanks,

Far as I know, you have to flip the side switch so that it doesn't show the orange strip AND turn vibrate off in Preferences/Sounds. That's the only way I've managed to turn off vibrate for the alarm clock. Of course, it's a pain to have to do it all over again when you want to set your phone to silent and still know someone's calling or texting you...

  • Alarm Clock that automatically turns iPhone on

I just switched from the blackberry over to the iPhone, and while I absolutely love it, one thing that the bberry does have that the iPhone does not was an alarm clock that allowed you to turn off your phone overnight and charge, with the alarm clock automatically turning the phone back on at whatever time the alarm was set for.
I've done a little bit of research, but ive yet to find a solution, be it an app or a simple setting on the phone itself. Does anyone have any helpful info or solutions?

No, there is no way to do that. There is no setting for an alarm -> phone on function, and no 3rd party apps are allowed access to core functions such as that. No apps can run with the phone off. You do realize that the BB isn't truly "off" if there is an alarm app running...
If it's a matter of the phone not ringing, you can manually set the ring/silent switch to silent (with vibrate off set in Settings). The alarm will still sound, but you'll have to remember to move the switch back to ring.

  • Does alarm clock drain down our iphones' batteries?

Well, I went to App store and looked for "alarm clock free for iphone." The results appeared are vary. But the question is I don't know if these apps would drain down our iphones' batteries due to the fact that we must run the app through the night in order to show the digital clock and let it wake you up in the morning. Please help me answer this question. Appreciate it!

I have used the phone ( and my BlackBerry in the past ) as a clock, with alarm when and if needed in this fashion for years. ( pretty much all my phones since Lithium ion batteries became the norm, in lieu of NiCad or NiMh ) .... Never had a problem and the original factory battery usually outlived the phone. Battery does get exercised with use in the day, and charge cycles ( the criterion specified for battery life) are significantly reduced.  I suspect one of the 'requirements' to run the battery wayyyyyy down has something to do with re calibrating  the battery gauge , but I personally have never had battery life issues with any phone ( maybe just pure luck, but ..... ). Also, here in the Caribbean, where power black outs aren't uncommon,  its nice to know your trusty cell is charged ....  When the power goes out, it may be 20 min or 4 hrs..... So if/when that happens , I turn off Bluetooth and wifi right away.  With modem & router unpowered, thus no wifi, it will help conserve battery by preventing phone from searching for a signal which ain't there :-)

  • ALarm clock and sleep behavior

I am using Alarm Clock 2.3.8 with my G5, which wakes the computer up at a specified time and plays music to wake me up, but one issue I noticed on testing it. I have a password set to wake the computer from sleep and screen saver, and when the computer wakes up, if the password is not entered within about a minute, the computer goes back to sleep, which I know is a normal behavior, but in this application is kind of annoying. But also, when this happens, it effectively puts Alarm Clock in snooze mode so the G5 wakes back up a few minutes later and continues like this.
Is there any way to change the sleep parameters so that it won't go back to sleep if the password is not entered on wake?
    G5 Dual 2 GHz and iBook G4 14-inch 1 GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

LOL. You could buy an alarm clock.
While waking to music may be nice, I find the alarm function of my Nokia phone to be the absolute best alarm clock I've ever used: it starts out at a low volume and then quickly escalates to an ear-splitting level that I find impossible to sleep through. It also has a snooze function, though the alarm is so effective that it wakes me from even the deepest sleep.
Most cell phones have alarm features, so you may want to try that if you have a mobile and want to eschew an alarm clock.
    Good luck!

  • Question about Nokia 206 Dual SIM Alarm Clock

    hi every body
how can i change the default clock alarm tone in nokia 206 ?
every time i should change it manually
is there any default setting for alarm clock ?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Welcome to the forum, karon_sh!
The alarm app uses the standard Nokia alarm tune as its default tone. You're right, when you create a new alarm, you'll need to set your preferred alert tone manually. Currently, there's no setting to change this. However, we'll take your feedback as a feature suggestion for future SW updates.
