Phone stuck at "Plug Into iTunes screen" but it is not frozen.

I'm using windows 8.1. My iTunes can successfully sync and detect my ipad air but after updating my ipod touch 4th gen this afternoon, it is stuck at the "Plug into iTunes" screen you have when you first get such a device. When I plug it into my computer, the "USB Plug-in" sound is heard and the Apple Mobile Device Driver detects it in Device manager, but the Ipod does not appear in My Computer or iTunes and remains stuck on the "Plug into to iTunes" screen

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

  • IPhone is stuck on plug into iTunes screen

I plugged in my phone to iTunes last night so that I could update it over night, but when I got up this morning it was on the plug into itunes screen. My phone has been stuck of the plug iTunes screen for a couple hours now. I tried turning it off and back on again, but every time i do that it returns back to the "plug into itunes" screen. I have tried plugging it into iTunes atleast 10 times, and nothing happens on itunes. It doesn't show that there is a device being connected. I don't want to lose all my data because I haven't backed it up yet... If any has any way of fixing this please let me know, I really need it to work. Thanks.

OK so I went to the Apple store and he managed to restart my iPhone by putting it into "recovery mode". I just Googled how to do this as I wasn't there when he did it..
Disconnect the USB cable from your iPhone, but leave the other side connected to your Mac or PC
    Launch iTunes
Press and hold down the Home and Sleep/Power button on the top of the iPhone to turn off the iPhone
Press and continue to hold the Home Button while you reconnect the USB cable to your iPhone, this will cause the iPhone to turn on
Continue to hold the Home button until an alert message in iTunes informing you that an iPhone in recovery mode has been detected, like the screenshot below:
Your iPhone is now in recovery mode. If you have not launched iTunes, you will see the familiar screen of the USB cable pointing at the iTunes logo signaling to connect the iPhone to iTunes to start recovery.
Once you’re in recovery mode, you can either restore the iPhone or adjust the firmware as necessary.
After restoring or upgrading firmware, your iPhone will automatically reboot and exit recovery mode on it’s own.
It seems you will also need a wifi connection to complete the recovery mode.
TIP: If you have backed up your iPhone, click the "restore from iTunes back up" (last option) so when you plug it back in, it will restore from your back up instead of restoreing it to the original factory setttings.
NOTE: The above was really hard for me to get working so good luck! I tried a number of times and didn't get any message in iTunes but got my iPhone into what i assume is the "recovery mode". I'm still trying to get access a wi-fi connection to see if this will work but I will post another update once I can give it a go!
Good Luck! And let me know if anyone successful!

  • Stuck on -Plug into iTunes- Screen

Hello fellow iPhone users, I need help.
When I tried to update the phone (5c), it got stuck on the -plug into iTunes- screen. The iTunes also stopped recognizing the phone.
    I have tried:
    1. turning it off
    2. putting it on DFU mode
    3. putting it on recovery mode
    4. reconnecting iPhone to iTunes with different USB ports/cables.
After doing all of these things, iPhone is still unrecognized on the iTunes (yes it is updated), and the phone remains on the same screen. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

The battery on my iphone died. When I recharged it the phone became stuck on the "Plug into ITunes screen" - like when first activating the IPhone. When I plug the phone into ITunes nothing happens.

  • IPhone stuck on plug into iTunes screen

I pugged my iPhone in to iTunes on my computer the other day and it worked fine until an unknown error popped up mid update so I pressed cancel and unplugged my iPhone but on my iPhone it just told me to plug my phone into iTunes but every time I plug it in, my phone nor computer read it as plugged in. My phone is now stuck on the screen that tells me to plug it into iTunes. I can turn it on and off and reset it but it is still stuck on the screen. I have checked the plug with other phones and it is fully functional. iTunes is also updated  to the newest software on the computer.

  • I tried updating my 16gb, iPad 3 to iOS 7.0.2., stuck on "Plug into iTunes Screen"

Last night I tried to update my Ipad 3 to iOS 7.0.2. It took a while to download the file, and once it began to install, after about 99% of the install was done, it closed out and gave me an "Unknown error", stating the download couldn't be finished.
Now the iPad is stuck on the iTunes logo, with the words "iTunes" and a USB cable under it. I tried troubleshooting this on my own, and all I could find was a discussion on this website from ten days ago. The troubleshoot is here: (https://discussions.apple.com/message/23026733#23026733).
The OP has the same exact problem as me, and the guy who responded said to do a hard reset and slide to power down. OP has the same problem, when I hard reset it shows the Apple logo, and then goes straight back to the Connect to iTunes screen. I'd love to just delete all of the data on it to restart from scratch (only if I really need to), but I can't even get past step 2. My iTunes wont recognize the iPad, but when I plug it into my computer I hear a sound, meaning it recognizes it as being plugged in. It does the same noise for my Samsung GS3, or even just USB Flash Drives.
I have no idea what to do, I've been trying everything but I'm completely lost.
And yes, I have iTunes 11.1.

I am in the same predicament...any resolve?  Other than possibly taking it into the shop?

  • Iphone 3gs stuck on plug into itunes screen after trying to restore get error 1015

i have a iphone 3gs 8gb that was jb and unlocked by the previous now the phone froze and its stuck and i tried the hard reset and now its stuck on the connect to itunes screen how can i fix it?

    Manny,
You will need to get help for your problem on another forum.  By jailbreaking your phone, you've voided your warranty and eliminated the ability to get help from Apple or from any of Apple's forums, including this one.
Terms of Use of this forum prohibit the discussion of jailbroken phones.  You will need to search elsewhere for assistance; know that there is a strong liklihood that you will never get your phone working again.  Hope the jb was worth it.
    Good luck.

  • IPad 2 went to update ios8 now stuck in plug into itunes screen I have no computer.

how do I fix this without a computer.

I absolutely agree on that point - it's part of the reason I keep my iPad/iPhone kind of filled up - then they can't automatically download iOS updates on me
Hopefully the folks at the store are able to get you fixed up fairly quickly.

  • Tried to upgrade my iPhone 4 to 5.1 and now it is  stuck in "plug into itunes mode" after trying to update to iOs 5.1 and receiving error (1).

Tried to upgrade my iPhone 4 to 5.1 and now it is  stuck in "plug into itunes mode" but will not recover when I plug it in. It is coming up as "unkown error (1)". Is there anything I can do?
Also, is there any way to recover pictures I have not yet backed up? They should be on iTunes, but do not show up when I plug the phone in or otherwise.
Is there any hope in saving this phone or is my best bet contacting Verizon or Apple to overnight me a new one?

    From iPhoneWiki:
Try changing the USB port (the back one of chassis is better) and restart computer.
The installed version of iTunes may also be too old. Update iTunes.
Also put your iPhone in DFU mode when doing the above and restore. It's a software error.

  • HT4623 My ios update keeps getting stuck on the Restoring iPhone software stage. I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it again, but still nothing. Now I can't even use my phone as it shows the plug into iTunes screen. Please help!!!! Thanks,

My ios update keeps getting stuck on the Restoring iPhone software stage. I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it again, but still nothing. Now I can't even use my phone as it shows the plug into iTunes screen. Please help!!!! Thanks,

A Restore first downloads a new copy of iOS to your computer. On a slow Internet connection this can take a long time. How fast is your connection? How long would you expect it to take to download 900 MB?
That's assuming nothing is interfering with the download. Some firewalls and antivirus programs will block the download or slow it down. So you should temporarily disable your security software. Security software can also block the update after the iOS download is complete.

  • HT4528 I updated my iphone but it is requiring me to plug in to itunes, I can not get in to it bc my laptop is broken, is there anyway around it? Can I get out of the update? It is stuck on the "Plug into iTunes screen"

If you are in a screen to plug into iTunes, then the device is in recovery mode. Your only option is to connect to the computer to restore the device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
