  • Xperia Z3 Compact - Phone turns off on its own after lolipop update

    Dear Sony Team,
Background: My Xperia Z3 Phone is 5 months old. It worked perfectly fine until the Lolipop update (updated 3-4 weeks ago).
Issue: Phone Turns-off abruptly on its own and doesnt turn-on until several attempts of pressing the power button.
    Few Observations:
    1. No particular time that it turns-off. While on call, during charging, while browsing and so on.
    2. I tired all the combinations of powering up the device mentioned in various threads.
    3. I did removed the SD CARD, SIM CARD. But in vain.
    4. Like someone mentioned in one of the thread suspecting some sort of application creating the issue, I did activated ultra stamina mode to restrict ot bare minimum applications. But In vain.
    5. I did factory reset and updated the phone. But in vain.
All of the effrots are frutail.
Can Sony Team or the friends over this support forum suggest me what to do?
    Thanks in advace,

    Try this.
Remove the SD and SIM cards > repair the phone with PCC > make sure that you delete everything > once you repair the phone > try to use the phone w/o any SIM nor SD cards for an hour or two > report back.

Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.

  • Why does my phone constantly turn off on its own as if the battery is dead?

why does my phone constantly turn off on its own as if the battery is dead? Its so annoying! Every day once my battery life span is at about 40%, my phone will start shutting down with the dead battery sign once it is down. Then after about 3 minutes i can turn it back on.

Tons of people have this problem with iPhone 4S and 5, whether they are on iOS 6 or 7. You can only hope that one day Apple realizes that this bug (software ? hardware ?) is a *real* pain. So far, they haven't paid attention.

  • IMessage turns off on its own, can't be turned back on

I have an iphone 5, and starting this morning none of my texts or imessages would send, and I can't receive messages either. If i turn my phone off and back on, messages will send and receive like normal for about the first minute that it's on. After that if i go into settings -> messages, it appears that imessage has turned off on its own, and can't be turned back on. Basically I've had to restart my phone every time I want to send a message, and when I do restart it, messages finally pop up that had been sent to me hours ago. I have tried resetting my network settings, toggling the imessage on and off (it won't let me do that though), a hard reset, and restoring to factory settings. Nothing has worked and I'm not sure what else to try.

    RESET DEVICE
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost).

    Try this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up

  • MacBook Pro turned off on its own and now won't turn back on.

MacBook Pro turned off on its own and now won't turn back on.  Battery had 41% just before this happened and green indicator on power cord is showing, so it seems like it's charging.  What should I do?

The led on the power adapter should be amber if it is charging.  Green just indicates that it is supplying power to the MBP.
    Try a SMC reset:

  • 6th Gen Nano turns off on its own

My nano is turning off on its own after a few minutes of play.  Any advice?

Your nano is pausing playback when the screen goes dark (Either when it goes dark on its own or when you click the sleep/wake button). The reason for this is that it is not detecting your headset. You may be able to hear music, but the headset jack is not inserted enough for the nano to detect that it is there (or something is blocking the connection). Here are your three options:
Insert the headset jack harder. Most folks find that this solves their problem. If you can see ANY of the silver of the plug when it is inserted, it is NOT fully inserted. You should feel and hear a click" when it is fully inserted.
Clean out the crud in the headset port. If you have tried #1 and it just won't insert all the way, it is likely that you have crud in your headset jack. Shine a light in there. The entire inside of the jack is white, so if it looks dark down at the bottom, there is probably crud down there. You can try blowing it out or using canned air. Just understand that shoving anything else in there to clean it out will be taking your warranty into your own hands! However, I have cleaned mine out using whatever was handy and small enough to fit in there and so far so good. Your results may vary!
Take it to the Apple store. If you have really tried with 1 and 2 and it is still happening, then there might just be something up with your headset port or your headset jack. If it is the headset jack, you can look closely at that and be pretty sure if that is the problem. Try another headset to make sure. If you have worked all the way through to this point and it is still happening, it is time to take it to the Apple store.

  • Macbook turning off on its own

About a month ago, my macbook started turning off on its own. Then when i turned it back on it loaded and then turned off several more times before i turned on a stayed on. Then it didn't happen anymore, so i thought it was a fluke. Now it has started doing it again. The battery says it has a lot of power left so its not that. Has this happened to anyone else before? What should I do?

Also, in the meantime, when you turn it back on after a shutdown, hold the on button down until it chimes you hear a loud sound. Apparently, that limits the macbook to using one of its processors, and for me and some other people, it stops or reduces the shutdowns so you can use the notebook until you get it repaired. I had a new heat sink put in in October, and mine hasn't shut down by itself since then.

My iPhone  5 keeps turning off on its own randomly, sometimes turning itself back on automatically but sometimes staying off, i have tried a system restore but has no effect, what should I do?

Do you have a case on the iPhone? Did you accidentally drop it or damage it in anyway?
You could try restoring the iPhone and setting it up as a new device, as shown here -> iOS: How to back up your data and set up as a new device

  • Why can't I turn Airport on in my iMac? It turns off on its own.

I have an iMac with leopard and an intel processor. Airport (the hardware/software responsible for my Wi-Fi) seems to turn on and off on its own.
Sometimes when I log on, Airport is on. Sometimes after it goes to sleep, Airport is on. But sometimes, Airport isn't on, and there's nothing I can do to turn it on. It appears that this is an issue other users are having, but I can't find the resolution. I am looking for easy steps!
I have gone to network preferences, and tried pushing that cute little "Turn Airport On" button. Nothing. I've tried deleting the locations and adding a new one. Nope. I've changed the order of the network devices. I've tried to turn airport on through that little icon in the upper right. It's hollow, and tells me "No Airport Card Installed". It's lying. It was there two days ago. System profiler tells me that there's no Aiport card installed, but it did *two days ago*.
I admit my ignorance of Macs whole-heartedly. I bought my first a month ago - I only spent 3 hours that first day getting it on my network. The next day I spent another 3 hours getting it BACK on the network. Now I have spent 2 days trying to get it to believe it CAN get on a network.
An Apple salesman convinced me how terrific Macs were, and impressed me with how easy they are to use. He made a crack about how inferior Dell was and how sorry he felt for me. I am writing this message on a Dell laptop. It is connected to my wireless network. It took me 3 minutes to connect it, and it never once has told me that it no longer has a network card. Neither have the other 3 PCs in my house.
Can someone PLEASE save a poor, helpless PC user. I clearly need assistance -I read somewhere that I can run a 'script' to turn it on - but I don't know this OS so I don't understand what that entails
If any answer involves taking my Mac into a "Genius Bar", then the "Genius" can keep it. I've never had to take an out-of-box PC to a "Genius" - because it doesn't take one to fix a PC. Please guys, save a PC user. This Mac cost more than the PC I wanted and it's worth a lot less to me right now.

Hi, sorry to hear that you are experiencing these problems, but sometimes a new machine (be it Apple, Dell, whatever) can be defective right out the box - its not unheard of.
If your machine came with defective hardware and is still under warranty (seems to be the case here) then you have nothing to lose taking it back to where you bought it and, if there really is defective hardware present I am sure they'll rectify the problem.
A small note: these problems are not manufacturer-specific - its pointless blaming the manufacturer as I can assure you this happens with ALL brands. Apple supplies quality hardware and software - I know of a user who has had a machine switched on since 1987 without problems
