Phone turns itself off

Unfortunately I have already had to have one replacement within 2 days of getting it because of various issues including turning itself (after about 30minutes-1hour of being within a call), the new one also does this, usually after about 30minutes of playing music (begining to see a theme here), could it be because I am using an 8gb micro sd card? or is it something else?

Yeah, I have exactly the same problem with my 8120.....
Its completly unreliable, I am on my third now and all have the exact same problem. I can be either in the middle of a call and the phone just dies, or it can be sitting on the desk busy flashing its green light and then for no reason, will just die.
Its my 1st Blackberry and my experience sofar, will be my last.
Not impressed at all.

  • Battery % dropping, phone turning itself off

Basically my phone's battery has been pretty terrible for a while now, I get about 12 hours usage when fully charged and that's without me using it extensively. More recently though i've been having an issue where the battery % is dropping drastically (30% to 1%) and then the phone is turning itself off. I've checked the usage screen for any apps that would be draining it etc and all is pretty normal. I've tried to restore the phone, this hasn't changed anything. My phone is out of warranty and isn't on the battery replacement program. Anyone got any ideas?
    Thanks
    Steve

  • The phone turns itself off every night

Every night my iPhone 4 turns itself off so that nobody can call me, and I do not receive any  messages. If someome calls me, they are told that I can not be reached. To "open" the phone again, I have to make a call. Then it works all right the rest of the day. But the next morning it is "closed" again. It is a new phone. I complained and I got a new one, but it has the same problem.

Try to set it up as new device, without using the latest backup, in case it contains corrupt data causing your problem. How to back up your data and set up as a new device

  • Phone Turns Itself Off During Call

I've had the 8300 Curve for about a year and a half now.  Starting recently, the phone just turns itself off in the middle of a call and the only way I can turn it back on is by pulling the battery.  As far as I know, it only turns itself off when I'm on a call.  I searched the forums and updated to the newest OS, 4.5.0.110, but that hasn't solved the problem.  Is this a battery issue or is my phone just on its way out?  Battery is holding its charge normally.  I do use a Bluetooth headset sometimes, but I haven't found that to be a factor.  Any help is much appreciated.

I just had someone come to me with this problem on an 8330. I was not able to duplicate it. I checked battery connections and event logs following is the event log for the period that the customer had problems with the phone shutting down. if anyone can see anything in the log that looks out of the ordinary, I, my customer and many others will be grateful. Thanks.

  • Phone turns itself off, will not turn back on

I got the Sony Xperia M4 Aqua only three days ago from Virgin Mobile in BC, Canada. Model number E2306. -Since then it has shut itself off for no reason 8 times.(eg- in the middle of charging, during the night, multiple times in one morning). -Always when I lock the screen, and when I go to unlock it again with the power button, nothing happens.  -Sometimes it happens if I leave the phone locked for 5 minutes, or 3 hours.  -The ony way I can get the phone to turn back on is through holding the OFF (reset) button next to the sim card slot.  -I have tried registering for Xperia Support through the app on the phone and it says my IMEI number is invalid? -The phone runs fine and no app crashes while it is turned on. How do I fix this, or should I return the phone?!

Try performing a system repair using PC Companion as this will often fix issues - This will factory reset your phone and erase all data so best to backup before you begin
Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process
If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

  • Phone turns itself off when calling

    Hello,
When someone tries to call me or when I call out, about 50% of the time the phone will say "Mobile Network Not Available" and then it shuts itself off.
    Any help?
    Thank you.
This is my second Xperia phone...I bought one 2 weeks ago and it seemed to have overheated and then they gave me this one...they both had the same problem with calling...

  • The on off button no longer works on my iPhone 4s. If I update my iOS will my phone turn itself off as part of the process? If it does I won't be able to turn it back on so I need to know but can't remember from last time!!!

Will my iPhone 4s turn off as part of the process of updating my iOS? The on/off button on my iphone doesn't work so I can't allow my phone to run out of battery or turn off because I will not be able to turn it back on.

    Ok here is a nuance
Try it - when your phone locks
Insert the charging cord which is connected to a power source on the other end  - wait about a minute - and then take it out
    The screen will "wake up"
That is always your way out
I use assistive touch as well to lessen the wear and tear on my home button
Sleep mode is what your phone does when you are asleep

  • HT4528 Hello.  I recently upgraded my iPhone 4 to ios7.  Since the upgrade, my phone turns itself off at the same time every night, for about 30 minutes.  I have no idea why.  Any suggestions?

I recently upgrade to iOS 7, and since then, my iPhone turns off automatically at the same time every night for about 30.  Why does this happen, and what setting can I change to prevent it?

Is Do Not Disturb turned on? Do you see a quarter-moon icon up top in the status bar?

When I plug it into my computer nothing happens.

  • IPhone 5C - Turned itself off and won't come back on.

I have owned this phone since the day it came out (20th September) and it was fine up until a few weeks ago. It decided - frequently - to reboot itself, lines would appear on my screen and the brightness would decrease until the phone turned itself off. Soon the apple logo would appear and everything would be fine. I noticed that it would do this while I was on it while it was charging or when a lot of apps were open. I avoided doing these things, but it still would happen. Sometimes it would do it and the apple logo would not appear - I learned of the holding down the home and sleep/wake button at the same time hack, and would do that to get it back on. As time went on the problem would persist, sometimes it would take a few attempts to get the phone back on - I removed some recent apps and the phone was fine for about a week.
Last Friday the phone did it again, so I decided to factory reset/restore through iTunes and then restore my backup. For a couple of days the phone was fine, up until last night where the phone switched off - thinking this was like all the other times I did what I'd usually do. But nothing, I've left it to charge, I've attempted to restore it. When I go to restore it the apple logo appears and the process bar appears, however iTunes turns around and says that it cannot restore the phone.
I went onto here to try and attempt to have it sent back for service, I put in my IMEI number, and it said that I need to turn "Find my iPhone" off, I did that and now it says that it's still on, when it isn't!
Does anyone know what I can do? Or shall I just ring them and figure out how to send it back through that?

This happened to me yesterday. This probably isn't any use to you now, but for others with this question. This morning I took the back off of my phone, and I took the battery out and plugged it in to my laptop. It immediately lit up. We put the battery back in and restored it and it works better than ever. Not sure if this will work for all, but it worked for me!
