Phone turns off while still having battery

I have noticed that when I have like 15% of bat and I take a picture, my phone will turn off as of the battery is empty. It won't turn back on until I connect it to the charger. It will than turn on immediately and showing the same 15%. Is it a software issue? It has happened a few times already!
Has anyone experienced the same?

I would suggest you to restore your iPhone using iTunes, once that this seems like a software glitch.

MY phone turned off while texting battery at 72%. I tried turning it on but screen stays black.

First, try to reset the phone by pressing the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back. You will not lose data by resetting.
If this does not work, connect in recovery mode, explained here:

  • Phone turns off, power cycles & drains battery

My Curve 8530 has been turning off spontaneously power cycling then the Blackberry download screen comes on.  It will then fully load and when it powers back on the battery will be completely drained.  It will do this in the middle of phone calls, texting and browsing.
Any ideas how to fix this?

I had the same problem using MetroPCS blackberry curve 8530, I messed around with the network settings on my phone for hours until i figured out that it managed to stay on when i unchecked the mobil network, which disables the radio signal on the phone. Then I started shutting off every other wireless conections like gps, data, roaming, ect... Then i turned back on the mobil network and it seems to be a fix but you loose out on the usefullnes of the phone..

  • Phone turns off with lots of battery left

My iPhone 4S has taken to turning off with as much as 30% power left. When I plug it in again and it comes back up, it will indicate the same power percentage. I have made it a habit of draining the battery at least once a month and then fully charging it (probably that happens more than once a month), so I feel like I've been properly maintaining the battery. I got this when the 4S came out, so it's as old as the 4S model is. Oddly, if I'm on the phone this does not happen. It will run down to 1%. Maybe that's coincedence, maybe not.
It's quite irritating - isn't this supposed to be the software/hardware that "just works"? - when you're doing something important and this happens. Today two armadillos appeared in our back yard and I was shooting some video of them. I got a low battery warning - I'm not sure if it was the 10% or 20% warning - but then right after clearing it, the phone shut down. I had some good video, but instead of using the remaining power to save the video, the video was just lost. I had never seen armadillos up close like that and was wanting that video to show my son and some other people, but now due to this problem that video is gone. Thanks a lot, Apple!

Sounds like there is a hardware problem - likely with the battery.
Make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby to confirm.

  • IPhone 3gs turns off while having 60-80% battery

hello, iphone 3gs turns off while there is enough battery to be consumed. Round about 60 to 80 percent battery is more enough to keep alive an iphone for a whole day long. what suggestion you recommend, help asap......

You could try to disconnect and after a few minutes reconnect the battery. That theoretically resets the phone BIOS and is supposed to help regarding the reboot issue (see post by NIKKOH007) http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2471090&start=2055&tstart=30
Or replace the battery altogether with a newer, iOS 4 compatible battery. At iFixit.com they have come to the conclusion that not all batteries in the 3GS are necessarily iOS4.x compatible or a battery defect may be exposed after updating.

  • HT4914 Once I turn on Match, how do I remove the songs from my iPhone, thus freeing up the memory, which is my initial purpose anyway? (while still having instant access to all my music)

Once I turn on Match, how do I remove the songs form my iPhone, thus freeing up the memory, which is my initial purpose anywhy (while still having complete instant access to all my music) ?

    Hello there dwflemming1,
I recommend turning off iTunes Match on the computer and the phone. Then connect the phone to the computer and uncheck the box to sync music, then click apply in the lower right corner of iTunes. When that completes, turn match back on on both devices.

Even if it is a hardware problem they should fix it regardless of warranty. If you buy a car and after 1.5 years the doors fall off due to a failure in their design and construction, do you think the car manufacturer could pull off what Apple is trying to do? Yes the car still delivers its primary objective of driving from A to B, but significant functionality has been lost due to their fault.
It is the same with this iPhone wifi problem. Apple are a disgrace, I have had significant Apple Hardware failures with my MacBook Pro and iPhone within 2 years of purchase. Pathetic quality.

  • Random reboots when 60% or less battery, phone turns off when fully charged

    Hello!
I need help! I have been using my new Sony Xperia Z3C for 4 days now. It came with Lollipop update.
Everything was working great when I opened it, but not for long. It started to reboot more and more frequently and anything could set it of, home button, typing a screen lock PIN, using any app or just while in stand by!! Crazy.
After that frustration I hoped it was a software issue because that I can solve. I started with PC Companion update and after that same thing. Ok, I thought the version is the problem. I went with older versions of Lollipop firmware. Again, same thing, after some time of usage phone starts to reboot uncontrolably. Fine, fine, I thought okay Lollipop is the problem, I need to go with Kit Kat. I did that and after successfull startup and app instalation, account logging and everything, guess what. REBOOT!
Then I noticed the weirdest thing, When I am charging the phone, it works like a charm and when it is almost full. When it drained passed 60% battery level it started to reboot again and this happens every time. When I charge it again it works just fine until 60% again. Other weird thing is that the phone TURNS OFF completely when it is at 100% charge.
Can I fix this at home?
    Cheers,
    Branko
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Phy,
yes I allready did the SIM card and SD card test and removed both of them but it's the same issue. Sometimes it works for hours without a problem and then it starts to reboot every few minutes. It really has no rules.
I guess considering all the similar topics I read and your suggestions it is definitly a hardware issue.
Thankfully I will get a replacement on Monday.
I will update what kind of issue it was if I get that information.
    Cheers!

I have an iphone and i was sending a multimedia message and all of a sudden the phone turned off and will not turn back on. We have been charging it for almost half an hour or more and it still hasn't turned on. How do we fix it?

Wine, were you charging over the USB Connection or AC Power?  We've found in our organization that at times not enough power is generated over USB to recharge it in situations like this...I quote from the email of a fellow technician that i just received today...
I’ve had a couple of users up here bring their iPhones to me so dead that the phone was unresponsive, no matter what we did. One thing that many people do not realize is that the iPhone (iOS devices in general) have power management in them. The power management appears to be set up so that the device will not power on at all until the battery is at a certain minimum level. If the user will plug the device into the power adapter, not a USB port on a computer (laptops especially), and leave it for about an hour, maybe longer, the device will come back to life.
The reason I say they have to use the power adapter is because the USB port is not high enough power to bring the charge up fast enough for the battery to come back out of “hibernation”.
Each time I have had the users do the power adapter plug in, and leave it for a couple of hours, the devices have come back to life
    Hope this helps

  • While talking on my Iphone, is there a way from having it turn off while in my pocket

While talking on my Iphone, is there a way from having it turn off while in my pocket?

Huh? You're post doesn't make a lot of sense. Are you talking on your phone? Or is it in your pocket? Are you using a headphone? Do you mean the entire phone is turning off? Or do you just mean the call is ending?
Try locking the screen by tapping the power button on the top right of the phone before you put it in your pocket.
