Phone unable to get Host Routing Tables

Hey,
I've been on with Rogers tech support for sometime today.
My originating issue was wireless wouldn't work and everytime i tried to scan for networks the bb would freeze and auto restart. I did a backup and wiped the device and wireless was working yet again.
But now i'm unable to get data services at all, apparently with rogers you're supposed to get EDGE and not edge. You're also supposed to have 8 entries in the Host Routing Table and i have none.
Rogers has wiped the handheld, reloaded all applications to barebones and still the issue persists. 
Whenever i try to do a full restore it errors out at reloading WLAN Profiles and options.
Before all this started and it was wiped trying to view WIFI Options an error popped up "Uncaught Exception: padded byte out of range" now i remembered that from memory so the Uncaught part maybe wrong.
Really don't want to drop another $500 on a phone literally 2 years after i spent $400 for this thing.

    Hi all. I have a blackberry curve 8310 with 4.5 operating system. I cannot access the at&t  network. It searches for the network and then says no service. My sim card is fine (works in my other phone) and I have a data plan. I have service books but no host routing tables. When I try to register the hrt's is says message is queued and will be sent once data coverage is available. And again when I put my sim into another phone, everything is fine and I have a full signal. I called at&t technical support and I might as well have been speaking german. They had no suggestions whatsoever. Any way I can get the hrt's on my phone ? thanks

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
    With a strong carrier network signal (not WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
    KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
    Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Resend Service Books
    KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
    With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support...it is, after all, your carrier network that must populate these items to your BB.

  • No entries in my Host Routing table

    I got the phone from Cincinnati Bell in USA and registered the phone with Etisalat Nigeria, it worked for about 7 months and stopped working and when i checked the Host routing Table i found no entries. My PIN:29BA62F7 and my IMEI No:358807040132108. Please help.

    On the handset, go to:
    For OS5 and 4.x
    Options - Advanced Options - Host Routing Table
    and click Register now, and escape back to the home page.
    For OS6 and higher
    in options, device , advanced, host routing table, click on menu and choose register now.
    Wait 2 minutes and see if registration to network happens.
    Resend your service books from your carrier BIS site:

    Go to the Personal Email Set Up icon and log in. Then under Help!, select Service Books, then select Send service Books.

    Part of the problem was that the Sun server's domain was not an exact match for the ADS domain. One was XXXX.EXAMPLE.COM and the other was just EXAMPLE.COM. Adding the equiv. domains in krb5.conf improved that situation.
    The sample PAM application still doesn't behave the way I want. When pam.conf is configured to authenticate against /etc/passwd, it works. Not when authenticating against ADS alone. I've come to the conclusion that PAM is for authenticating ONLY access to Solaris accounts.
    My application does not need a Solaris account. Am I using the wrong authentication API?

  • Host Routing table empty, will not register with network and BIS

    I wiped out my BlackBerry 9900 and thereafter, it gave me an error code 507. I reloaded the OS through suggested software from the Blackberry Desktop device software and it was sussuccful. But since then, I could not surf the internet with my phone despite having BIS suubscription with my network provider (Glo Nigeria). I checked the Host Routine table and found it empty. I registered it several times and even removed the battery and replaced it, I also did network diagnostics test and didnt get any form of change. I called my service provider and they checked and confirmed that my SIM and subscription status is ok, I inserted my SIM card into another BlackBerry device and it worked well. I have tried different suggestions on the  forum but non of them solved the problem. Please kindly assist me.

    I've seen this happen when people upgrade to 7.1.
    Go back to OS 7.0
    1. First locate your carrier and the OS file you wish to use.

    2. It doesn't hurt to do a manual backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > Backup. Close Desktop Manager upon completion and unplug BlackBerry. You can get BlackBerry Desktop Software here http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/
    3. Download the OS file from step 1 to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
    4. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Also check the following locations for vendor.xml files and delete any instances of the file:
    On Windows Vista/7 navigate to C:\Users\YOUR_USER\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML (Where "YOUR_USER" is your username)
    On Windows XP navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USER\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML (Where "YOUR_USER" is your username)
    5. If you're simply updating the OS to a newer version skip this step. If doing a clean OS reload use BBSAK from BBSAK.org and wipe the device (after doing a complete backup) then after you get the error 507 (no OS installed) then proceed to next step.
    6. Plug in BlackBerry and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader

  • Trouble getting internet route table distributet in a VRF

    Hi every one ..
    I'm have some trouble getting distributed the internet routing table between PE routers ...
    CE1 og PE1 works fine, BGP routes all internet routes are shown i en route table, but distributing between PE1 and PE2 is now working .. any one having a clue !!.
    My gold is to move internet access into it's oven VRF, and away from the global routing table

    For VPN routes to be exchanged between the two PEs, you first need to configure VPNv4 address family on each one of the PEs.
    Carrying the full Internet routing table over VPNv4 will work but it is not very scalable since all PE routers have to hold the full Internet routing table in the VRF context in addition to potentially full Internet routing table in the global routing table. If you want to exchange full Internet routing table between the two CEs, it would be preferable to use something Carrier Supporting Carrier (CSC).

  • AVAYA IP Phones unable to get an IP address from DHCP server.

    I installed new SRW208P switch and I mada an uplink connection with SRW 2024 switch (using GE port).
    when I am trying to connect AVAYA IP Phone to the SRW208P port, the set trying to get an IP address from the DHCP server and failed to get it.
    some times after 10 minutes, it get the IP address, but all the machines (PCs) connected to the same switch (SRW208P) hange.
    Note: the PCs an IP Phones are connected with separate UTP cables to the access switch.
    Is there any suggestions to solve this issue, please.

    The issue is that your machine is not being assigned an IP address / was unable to reach the DHCP server to receive one. The 169.254.x.x IP your machine is showing isn't assigned from DHCP, it's assigned by the local machine and is referred to as an APIPA
    address.
    So something is preventing your machine from reaching your DHCP server, which could one of a number of things. In the first instance I'd suggest having a look at
    http://epan36.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/eventid-1001-dhcp-your-computer-was-not.html which lists several of things that could cause this error and things you can try in order to resolve it.
    If none of those work, can you confirm whether you have any other machines connecting via the same method on the network, which might indicate whether this is an issue at the machine end or somewhere between the machine and DHCP server?

  • Phone unable to get text messages or call out?

    Today my phone stopped accepting or sending text messages and it stopped taking calls and sending calls. I've restarted it and rebooted and turned it off and on and have done everything in my power that I can think of. What's going on and what do I need to do? (I'm up to date on billing so it's not that) It also says that I have full signal and 3G.

    Yikes! No service is no good! It's important to have a working phone at all times. Let's get this fixed. What happens when you attempt to place a call? Any error message? Any liquid or physical damage to the device? Try a soft reset to the device http://bit.ly/tXe7I4. The device sounds like the software is frozen, and a soft reset will reset refresh the system. Keep me posted.

  • [Bootstrap unable to get a direct/routed: ..... ] problem !!!

     

    The server does not throw any axception (logs are clear, or there are
    some minor log entries about JDBC problems or so), sometimes the
    server exits, but in most cases it continues running but it does not
    answer to any requests (even from the administration console).
    Clients trying to access the server throw exceptions shown below.
    This server runs on Win2k.
    Any ideas?

  • UNABLE TO GET E-MAIL OR SET IT UP

    Ok here's the deal.  This is my daughter's phone and we did not have internet or data on it, just phone service and texting.  I recently added the data plan to it.  The internet works but cannot set up e-mail or use it, even through T-Mobile website.  I went to T-Mobiles site and logged in my phone number and set up a separate account.  I placed my SIM card in her phone and still no Blackberry Internet Service.  Tried the send service books and also tried changing the PIN for my phone to her's on T-Mobile website by clicking on detect new device.  It says it cannot find it but it may take up to 5 minutes.  Tried this 6 times waiting over 5 minutes each time.  She had called T-Mobile and they put her through hours on the phone and said it's A RIM problem, there's nothing we can do for you, you need to work with Blackberry.  Her service was bad where she lives so we got her another phone and carrier.
    I was having problems with my phone which had data all along and with my sim card in her phone and backing up and removing everything from her phone and then putting my last backup in, still no change.  She said she got some features to work through wi-fi.  I did notice when I go to setup e-mail on the phones setup wizard there was only an option for setting up an Enterprise Server account.  There is a dot in that box and I cannot remove it.  This phone was purchased brand new from T-Mobile in a sealed box with 3 other BB Curve 8900's and it has never been setup on BBES.  Any ideas?  Any help would be appreciated.  I tried the host routing table and there are no entries and I clicked on the register now at least 30 times over 4 hours and it says registration message sent but I never get anything.

    My my...you did try many things. Sadly, I think that the only way to unravel all of this is with your carrier. They control the BIS accounts. I would not let them off the hook though:

    While I'd never want to say that a carrier rep would lie to you, that statement from them is blatantly false. They sell you the BIS service. They are responsible for delivering that service to you. Only they can escalate your case into RIM if that is needed to resolve it. You have no free channel for accessing support from RIM except as escalation from your carrier.

  • Unable to get internet on my device

    I have not been able to get the internet through my device, blackberry curve.   I have been told that it is down for 24 to 48 hours.  Anyone having problems?

    I do not show any service alerts related to Internet connections for the Blackberry device.  
    In some instances, when you are having issues with email on your Blackberry, following the steps provided below may resolve the issue right away:
    - Press the Menu button, and choose the Manage Connections icon, turn all connections off for 1 minute, turn all connections on. 
    - Press Menu button, and choose Options icon, select Advanced Options, Select Host routing Table, press Menu button, select Register Now        
    - Power the Blackberry off and remove the battery for 1 minute, then replace the battery and power the device on.
    How to clean out your Cache
    * Open your web browser.
    * Select "Menu"
    * Select "Options"
    * Select "Cache Operations"
    * Select "Clear History"
    * Clear "Content Cache", "Pushed Content", and "Cookie Cache"
    * Once this is completed, remove the back and the battery from the phone for about 20 seconds and put back together.
    * Attempt to access Internet when the phone is back on.

  • ISCSI boot with Intel NICs added to windows 2008 r2 routing table causes non iscsi traffic to attempt default routes on iscsi networks

    I have a server with Intel 82576 Gigabit Dual Port Nics.  I have configured them to use iSCSI boot the primary looks to 10.0.0.1/24 and the secondary looks to 10.0.1.1/24.  The target is configured correctly.  Everything boots as expected.
     I have added the MPIO feature and configured MPIO for the iscsi initiator as per: http://blogs.technet.com/b/migreene/archive/2009/08/29/3277914.aspx.
     My issue is that the iSCSI networks show up in the routing table like so:
    I did not configure a default route in the Intel setup utility:
    I tried to explicitly remove the 0.0.0.0 entry and leave blank, with no change.  As you can see with the above routing table traffic attempts to travel over these routes:

    A ping to the outside world first attempts on 10.0.0.x/24 network, then on 10.0.1.x/24 network and then finally on the network the traffic should go over.  I don't want my iSCSI traffic to ever show up with a default route.  How do I get rid of it?

    route delete 0.0.0.0 deletes all default routes, then I have to add back in the "valid default route" of 192.168.100.6.
    I would like to not have to do a route delete though.

    So I've sort of given up on fixing the gateway assignment in the route for iSCSI boot.  I configured a DHCP server to give out the information required by iSCSI boot and configured the network cards to use DHCP for their configuration.  I insured
    that my DHCP server gave out no default gateway entry.  However, I still got the undesired routes in the routing table.  This makes me assume that there isn't a "fix" for it, only the workaround.
    Here is the script I run on each iSCSI Boot initiator (you would obviously change the ip number to suit your environment):

    After any wipes, updates, etc., I always suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step...if any step does not succeed exactly as written, then stop and fall to the bottom, contacting your mobile service provider for formal support):
    1) Register HRT
    KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
    Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books
    KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
    If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
    KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
    Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your BIS configuration for the affected email accounts (likely using the carrier BIS website from a PC, or trying, from the BB Browser, www.blackberry.com/integrate). Otherwise, you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    BTW -- Enterprise always shows on all BBs inside of the Email Configuration Wizard. When a proper BIS-level data plan is provisioned, Internet/Personal are added. But, Enterprise is ALWAYS there, regardless of if the user is activated on any BES or not.

  • Table are not prefixed with Schema in  SQL request - Unable to get Data

    I began this new thread because I closed the [previous one|Unable to get data (DSN connection); a little bit early, I believed it was OK but no the problem still here.
    First my architecture :
    Oracle 9g
    +500 Reports made under CR developper 8.5 or 9.0
    Report opened in VB .net application, framework 2.0 using CR runtime 8.5 and 9.0
    We want to upgrade CR version to 2008, so modification of reports will be done with CR 2008 Developper, and we want to
    use only CR 2008 runtime.
    The problem :
    Everything works fine in CR Developer, but the same report with the same parameters failed when called inside .net.
    The error is "Unable to get data", the database connection is OK but the queries mades from inside the report are wrong :
    The tables/views in the from statement are not prefixed with the Schema, so Oracle don't find them.

    I've made a research of Location on this forum the more intersting thread I've found is rpt-files do not function anymore after deploying to a different database, but I still don't understand.
    I take a look at all code sample and I can't found anything.
    You say that .Location need to be set, indeed Location property of CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.Table object only contains table name.
    I tried to overrides this value by the fully qualified table name (ie Schema.Table, for example GESTION_DES_TEMPS.POSTES), and it work  BUT it wouldn't be the solution, my code is designed to be generic, I can't have a database to know wich schema add before differents table name.
    Why when we execute the report directly in CR 2008 developper we don't have to redefine the table location ?
    Another test :
    I've made a new report directly in CR 2008 with a DSN, launch it in .net with the same DSN (server) : OK
    Then I launch it in .net with another DSN, it work also.
    Why report done with Crystal 8.5 or 9.0 have this problem ?
