Mobile phone unlocking

Hi,
I am wondering if it is possible to make a mobile phone unlocking program in Java?
If so can anyone tell me how I would start such a project?

The problem will be the interface with the mobile phones' flashed memory, plus the manufacturers are starting to get very wise: a friend of mine used to do this (not via java). His setup was some program off the net for reading memory, a soldering iron and four cables :) Anyway, his method was to remove the bytes from memory where the "lock" was. That worked until about 18 months ago with a Nokia 3310, now his method doesn't work, they've got some kind of safety.
First of all if you could read the memory via, that would be an achievement. THere are sites on the net that show you how to build something that connects the phone to a serial port, try googling for those? Good luck :)

I have the same problem. I am forced to have a PIN set on my devices because I use my corporate exchange email and sync over wi-fi initially fails until I manually unlock the phone/ipad. #ckuan needs to read the words wiritten. We know how it's supposed to work but it won't start until you enter the PIN. Until then I get error messages saying either it cannot find the phone or explicitly telling me I need to unlock it.

ok so the store I bought this from totally misrepresented it..I never got certification that it was factory unlocked ..thanks for your input ... it makes sense now ... it was a verizon phone to begin with from what I understand ..

5s Fingerprint unlock problem solved

Like several (many?) here, I've had 5s fingerprint unlock issues since launch. Works
for 1 or 2 days only, requiring a re-scan.
I've finally solved the issue I've been having. Very simple fix...
I had been using the end of my finger only, with the very end slightly
over the far end of the sensor, varying the rotation between training scans.
This worked well for unlocking, but sadly failed over time.
My fix, which hopefully works for others: Use a thicker part of the finger.
It didn't take much, just stay away from the end of the finger. I also
moved more during training than the "move slightly" prompt you get
if you don't move enough.
So far I'm on day 4 and have not had any failures where I had
to resort to using the passcode.
If you have unlock problems, and this works for you, please
let others know to help spread the word.

Not sure which problem you mean be "The problem is that the issue doesn't happen right away."
I'm describing a new issue. Perhaps I didn't describe it properly. Moot point as it could
not be duplicated. I rename my "fingers" rather than use the default "finger 1, finger 2" etc.
The "Right t" I scanned 6 days ago is still there in the listing, but will not unlock
the phone. Touching it (as you described) while on the phone with Apple (handy
feature, BTW!) would not highlight it etiher. What did unlock the phone, and did
highlight it in the fingerprint screen, was a "Right I" or right index finger which had
been created and then deleted about an hour earlier.
As far as I know, I have not seen anyone here with that problem. Again, moot point
as it was something that "happened", and the same steps could not get it to
happen again. Very odd...
Other than that, the initial scan, further away from the very end of the finger, has
been rock solid. So far at least

It is a Samsung F480.On three separate occasions I have rang customer services and have been assured they would sort it in a couple of weeks. No further communication was received each time.Then I tried our local EE shop in town. The staff left me in no doubt that there was no way they could help and I needed to contact customer service again.Three weeks ago I filled an online request, got an acknowledgement, and waited again. After ten days I was asked to redo my online because the IMEI number was not correct. I dispute that.Anyway I resubmitted my request, again after 10 days I have another text my IMEI number is not correct.I have obtained the IMEI number again by dialing *#06# how do I submit it to my application to unlock?There is no way I can find to do this. I have given up with customer service.Forgot to mention I have the required £8.99 in credit to pay for unlocking.Please help.

Hi James B,Thank you so much for your reply, after 3 months of silence I appreciate someone trying to help.I have contacted customer service again to check my IMEI number on record and it was the same one I found on my phone.The customer service rep was very sympathetic and (again) assured me he would personally sort it out.I accepted his assurance (again) because I am at a loss to do otherwise.However one thing which was differenr this time. A lady rang back within 5 minutes asking if I was happy with the service. I had to say I was reserving judgement. Again she assured me she would be in touch in a couple of days.Hopefully this time I may get a result. You can either use your carrier's international roaming plan, or if you have an unlocked phone, you can use local SIM cards from any compatible GSM carrier. If your phone is locked, you will need to contact your carrier to inquire as to the requirements and fees to have it unlocked. Not all carriers offer unlocking.

If you received a photo stream photo on your phone, save it to your camera roll, then locate the photo in the Photos section of the Photos app, tap the location listed above the photo in Moments and it should show you where it was taken on a map (assuming location services was enabled for the camera on your phone).
