N80 SOFTWARE PHONE UPDATER PROBLEM

Just to clarify further:
I attempted to download a software update for my N80 phone. It seems as if I had not actually completed the software download, and I now realise this after re-tracing the steps I took. What was left on the phone I remember was a ".sis" file.
I followed your advice yesterday.... I in fact reset the phone memory... to no avail. The same problem exists with the phone i.e. unable to access certain features eg. Gallery; extremely slow response to pressing keys on the phone. What should I do??
1) Should I attempt from scratch to download the update from the Nokia site to my phone again??
2) Should I just take it to a phone store and attempt to repair it??
3) Does it seem I have permanently damaged the phone - aarrgghh!

Unfortunately things are not looking good. Firstly try leaving battery out for 5 minutes and then replace.
Secondly you might like to look at post from nando61 just input "N93 update fix" into "Search Discussions" at top right of screen. Although different S60 phone to yours, it seems to be a question of whether NSU can be "tricked" into reading phone so that software can be re-loaded.
It appears to have worked on an N70, N73 and N93 so far apart from loss of data unfortunately!
It may however be a small price to pay if you have a "bricked" "N" Series and a visit to a Nokia Service Centre neither practical or feasible.

Problem in 5300 Phone Update over air

Hi friends,
I own nokia 5300 and tried to update my phone's software version over air. I tried to SETTINGS->PHONE->PHONE UPDATES->DOWNLOAD PHONE SOFTWARE..I got a message saying that "No settings Found. Contact your service provider". Then i read the user guide of 5300..It says i should change the setting in SETTING->CONFIGURATION->DEFAULT MANAGEMENT SETTING...But i could not find any setting in configuration setting..Moreover my phone's internet setting is activated and im surfing all the websites too..Can help me what should i do...

FOTA is a fairly new feature and to be honest it doesn't work very well. Some networks also block this feature for some strange reason.
You can still update using a PC & data cable or by visiting a nokia care point.
If your phone is working fine and you are happy with it then I suggest that you do not update it. Some recent updates have caused more problems than they have solved.

I have the same issue on my iPhone 5s
I've closed the app and re-booted the phone several times but it did not resolve the issue.
Upgrading to iOS 8.0.2 did not resolve it either.
Erasing the iPhone and restoring from a backup did not resolve it.
I'm not sure what else to do.

It could be that the existing wire in your appartment is not clean enough to provision DSL only. When combined with the phone possibly it has a higher line voltage and worked before. Now that the line is to be provisioned without phone service it may be giving them trouble that did not show before they came out and ran the new line test. So a new jack dedecated for your DSL line may require a new wire be run to your appartment. Also the account for internet only used to require direct billing to a credit card or something else. This was a number of years ago. Most accounts are linked to a phone number, and without a voice number it adds to the confusion.
If you are getting the voice and everything turned on as before, then I am at a loss for words.

Update problems and then some...

So my phone updated and now I have the following issues:
1. Lost 90% of my contacts
2. I cannot access any email other than gmail (imagine that!)
3. The phone no longer scrolls properly. Instead, it will hang even though I am moving my finger. I have to stop scrolling and wait
4. The orientation is all screwed up. Sometimes it will turn correctly and other times it won't turn at all.
5. The infamous task killer problem that others are having
6. Battery life. See #5
I called Verizon and all they could offer was the "remove the battery" suggestion. Can't tell you how many times I'd already done that (as well as reboots).
So now I feel like I'm back in the horror days when I had a contract with Sprint...

So I went to the Verizon store and all they did was a hard reset. Lost everything and still have a phone that is barely useable...

Asha 305 update problem

I have download new software but it is not install in mobile due to less memory. So i delete all data from my phone memory it still need more space now what i can do help me.

Hi, I am using Nokia Asha 305. I installed latest phone software version 7.42. Total free phone memory is only 2.5MB. Whatsapp application also comes with this update which is 1.7MB. So, remaining free memory i get is only around 800KB and my phone is always insisting me to free phone memory space which is quite annoying. I can neither delete News and Offers, Notification apps nor move them to my memory card. It would be better for users if apps like Whatsapp can be used from memory card. I am expecting a new phone software for Nokia Asha 305 from Nokia which solves low phone memory problem. If this problem is not fixed soon, Nokia may lose its Asha 305 customers.

Sony liveware manager update problem

Hi, my xperia arc s is facing an update problem in the liveware manager. The current software version in my phone is 3.2.7 but whenever i try to update to version 3.3.10, there show me this message. 'Package file was not signed correctly. Uninstall the previous copy of the app and try again.' I cant uninstall the app as it is a built in app. Please help. Thanks.

@NightRequiem this is the same version as what I currently have without any problems. In this circumstance it would be worthwhile running a repair via PC Companion:
1. Before you start you have to download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Once installed on your PC, double-click the PC Companion icon on your desktop to start the update.
Note! For some models you will be prompted to do a backup prior to the update and then restore.
3. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
4. Phone Software Update.
5. Start.
6. Repair Phone
7. Continue
8. Accept data removal
9. Next
10. Wait for prepare
11. Select Phone
12. Follow the connectionn steps

Network issue & phone updation issue

I have been using Nokia n900 for a long period of time. but before couple of months I have been facing this problem. one day i was using my mobile but again n again sim got deactivated automatically & it said restart it so i did but prob still there. I cant make calls, receive calls even cant do something. now it is just a Ipod.. i can store music, photos & so on but calls..
so Kindly tell the way to get rid of this problem. plz repair it....

Have you updated device recently as mention "phone updation" in title? Have you tried another SIM card?
This issue could be result of either a software issue or SIM card holder itself becoming detached from motherboard.
Can be worth re-flashing device software although be aware that talk.maemo.org having to relocate servers at the moment;http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Maemo-and-MeeGo-Devices/N900-PR-1-3-dont-detect-sim-Card/m-p/824173/...

[Software Updates Problem for My Nokia 6131]

Hi Everyone, My name is Wilson And I am from Singapore.I am here to ask about the software updates,which my country do not have support for it.That why i need help for my nokia 6131. Firstly, My nokia 6131 show some problems for E.g "when i type #0000#" it show an "Unknown APPLICATION"
Secondly,I follow the software guide, to no avail. I found out that in my settings > phone > phone updates it show only 2 things --> "Current Software Details and Install Software update".But my handphone version is V03.70.Lastly, i would to request if anyone or staffs would send me the file directly or help me step by step. My Nokia 6131 Version 3.70 but whenever i played a java games it will die out and when i turn on my phone and play the same game it also die out.
