Phone volume very low when recieving/making calls

I have the volume up all the way but can barely hear the person on the other end of a call. When I use the headset the volume is just fine and when I put it on speaker it seems to be OK as well. It is just when I have the phone up to my ear that I have problems hearing. Is there anything I can do to increase the ear speaker volume?

I'm suddenly having the exact, same problem with my iPhone 3G. I'm a Mac and iPhone "power user," and I know the device very, very well. (I also had an original iPhone for a year.)
Suddenly, the volume of calls on my iPhone 3G is extremely low. My Apple bluetooth headset and the speakerphone both work fine. But when I put the phone to my ear -- I can barely hear the caller.
I don't use a screen protector, my phone's never been dropped, and the volume's turned all the way up. (Yes, I've done so while a call is in progress.)
I was hoping to find a solution, here in the discussions. I'm completely stumped....

Phone Volume Very Low

I have had my Z1 compact since March and it is great, however I have noticed that intermittently the volume becomes very very quiet- so much so that I originally thought it had stopped working altogether. When I say the volume I mean the speaker- I can't hear my ringtone or any media that plays, I haven't yet tested the ear speaker when in a call but I presume it is fine.
At first the problem was intermittent and would solve itself after an hour or so, however yesterday morning it went off again and has not yet come back. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what might be going on? The phone has not been dropped, has been kept in a case since it arrived brand new and has not been exposed to any liquids (despite waterproof capabilities).

my phone has very low Call listening volume.i can' t hear properly so kindly suggest me what to do...its become very difficult to listen.i have given my phone to my friends,family members that everyone is facing the problem or not?.result found that everyone faces the low call volume i.e. ear speaker hv very low volume.so kindly suggest me what to do.i have updated latest software. ..

Does music play loudly ?.
The volume controls may be set to control media, during a call press the volume up button.

Bluetooth in call volume very low

Hi, I have a Z3c and I am extremely happy with the phone.
However, there are some small issues with call volumes over Bluetooth which are annoying. The volume for music, videos and apps is great over BT (I use crank the volume around 15 from max 35 on my car Stereo). However, for the Voice Call, even with the volume at Max, I cannot hear the other people on the call. This is really annoying and it is becoming a major drawback, since I am travelling a lot.
Is there any setting or fix that can be implemented? I have already tried 5-6 apps from Play Store without any result. The phone volume is at max in the call.

Yes, I have tried with a different device and I get the same results. I have also tried connecting another phone to the BT device and that works fine for both connections - same volume for music and calls..

Incoming ring and text volume very low!

hi, have recently noticed that when i lower volume level for music,video,games,other media, it also reduces my ringtone and notification volume level too! (even though the slider bar level is on max for ringtones,notifications.) so if for e.g i lower video volume on youtube etc, it takes my incoming call and text volume down too! this never use to happen and only noticed when i saw led missed call,text, flashing.try your own z3c?

now check incoming call,text volume (very low on mine) so i have to reset music,video,games etc to max to hear incoming calls,texts but i dont want max volume for music,video,,,
b.t.w I'm still on kitkat 4.4.4 but as i said the volume levels could be individually adjusted since out of box.
now strange thing is my mate has the xperia sp and i checked his yesterday and he had same issue (jellybean) and because his volume level on video,games etc is low but max on ringtone,text he too misses calls and texts! (unless of course he sets max volume on the video,games). also using volume on side of phone has no effect either.
any ideas?

I have the Handset BH-106 which was working fine with my old Nokia Phones, after i got the Lumia 920 i Found that the Audio became very low after start the Call, it will start good but dropping down with the time, it was very old so i decided to buy i new one and i have selected the BH-217.
i have tested it in the store the Audio was perfect, after few days the same issue accure and now im sure its the Phone issue not the Handset.
i did soo many soft/Hard Resets, i also got the Portico update, and i got other nokia Update (like Audio and others) but nothing worked.
is it really the Phone Issue because i dont want to buy newer handset like BH-220 with no benifits !
what is the soulution and what is the best Audio Hanset (for phone calls only i dont listen to music), which is have a car base like the BH-217 and can go to stand-by Mode.

It seems like this is a common problem with the BH-217 and it's auto adjust volume. You should be able to adjust volume on the phone.

Thanks so much but none of that helped. It was driving me crazy because it would back up another external drive. I just changed the name of the drive from iPhoto/iTunes Library to Media Libraries and IT WORKED!! I guess for some reason it didn't like the drive being called iPhoto or iTunes ???? I don't understand but I have tried so many solutions and exchanging things out but the name change did it????!!!

Cant hear caller/volume very low?

I just got my new iphone 4s today and straight away theres a problem.... when i call someone or they call me the volume is very low even when I have it turned up high, the few calls I have recieved I have had to put them on loudspeaker to hear! Definitely not impressed :-S Any ideas?

My mother has a first generation iPhone she inherited from me when I purchased an iPhone 3G, and she is having some problems with it. The call volume is very low, and resetting the phone doesn't help. Sometimes when I turn it off and turn it back on, the highest volume fluctuates, but it's still very quiet. What should I do?

Make sure the plastic cover that was put on the front of the iPhone for shipping has been removed. Second, is it quiet only on speakerphone, on the headset, or when held up to your ear?

QT 7 Pro - Volume of audio is very low when I record from a microphone.

Possibly someone can help me here, I am trying to record audio using a microphone and QuickTime Pro. I want to put this audio on my Nano.
I cannot get the audio volume up to the level of existing imported audio programs when I record a audio program using QTP and a mic.
I have already tried to set the microphone volume to a higher level. In the Quicktime Program I set the Menu/Edit/Preferences/Quicktime Preferences
I then go to the Audio tab, select audio recording and playback devices, select "audio playback and recording devices" and set the volume slider on the microphone to high, go to the advanced tab, set the microphone to boost, still I get a very low volume.
When I record using the Windows Sound Recorder I get a high volume, but the output is a wave file and the quality is not as good as I really want. But clearly the microphone and driver work. I have tried updating the driver, still get low volume for my recorded audio.

So you use an RCA cable going into what before it hits the MBP?
EDIT: Also in System Preferences > Sound > Input > you can select the input & adjust the volume accordingly as long as it's plugged in.

I'm not sure what happened but now when I'm on a call, I can barely hear the person talking to me. I tried a soft reset. That did not work. I reset my phone from iTunes and that did not work either. I recently upgraded my software to 5.0.1 and recently added I cloud and imatch. I have a few new apps but nothing big. Is there something that I can do? What might be going on?

in the settings under music, select the tab that says "volume limit", and see if the volume is locked on very low or something.
