Phone will no longer sync gmail account

My gmail account stopped syncing to my phone on October 13th. I cannot receive any emails past that date. I've since done a hard reset on my phone, changed email user information, and tried to clean out my email account in attempts to make room for future emails. Nothing has worked. Can you tell me what's wrong and what I have to do to fix this situation? Please help!!!

Hi, sorry for the late reply...I did check my internet connection, it works fine. I use my internet on my phone often. I also have another gmail account and it sync's to my phone often. I don't know what is this issue with this particular email account. It just doesn't want to work past October 13th for some weird reason. What can I do?

I finally worked around Apple's problem. I synced my iPhone 4 phone with another computer. Lost my apps and music on the phone but still had my music database of almost 3,000 tunes. I then synced with another computer with the updated iTunes software they just sent out. Then had to rebuild my apps and music on the phone. I used Tune-Up plug-in to help with the music with covers and dupes, etc. It took me till 1 am last night but it's now working and syncing ok. I have about 1,000 tunes on the phone now, with no dupes and 95% of the cover artwork. Without Tune-Up it would take me a week to get the dupes out and covers for all the albums. I think the problems started when Apple tried to send the update directly to the iPhone rather than thru iTunes like they had always done before. I turned off the cloud and am syncing and backing up with my computer and home sharing is turned off. That method worked very well for the last few years. It seems like the combination of home sharing, the cloud and 5.0.1 software caused a lot of problems. Hopefully I have it under control now, or at least until the next software update. It was a major pita.

I lost my original iphone so i replaced it with a 3g 16gig one. i synced it with my computer just fine with no problems for several months. i plugged it in one day and all of a sudden itunes kept saying that my phone was already synced with another computer and if i wanted to sync it with my computer it would erase all content on my phone (not the exact words but close!)! the apple genius told me when i connect to my computer that i can just choose to back it up so i did. well the screen on that phone shattered so i got a new one. when i connected the new one to my computer i set it up with the back up file from my shattered one, but i still can not sync it. is there a way to sync my phone with two different computers or is there a file somewhere on my computer that i can modify or delete that has the sync the info in it or something? i basically want to know how i can sync my new phone with my computer and be able to import all my info (i.e. contacts, ect) to my new phone without having to do them manually! hope that all makes sense!!! any help appreciated! thanks!

If you were syncing contacts before then they are all in your computers address book. So if you just sync new phone it will take from your address book and put on your phone.

IPhone will no longer sync to iTunes

I downloaded the latest itunes software last night in order to download the new iPhone software but since updating my iTunes my phone will no longer sync. It appears in the devices category but whenever I go to click on my phone, iTunes freezes and I have to force quit iTunes and try again. I have restarted both my phone and computer and I am yet to have any luck. Is thee anything else i can try? Did some searches, but did not come up with anything regarding your specific issue (the original one, the grey 'waiting' problem is quite common). If no other ofrum users chime in, it is indeed time to contact Apple / iTunes Store support.
If you have not yet one so, Try to Reset your device. Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off that shows up first).
You could also try to re-download one or two apps, just to see if anything changes. Log in to the iTunes Store, go to the Purchases section and download from the list of past purchases or free apps.

When I went to download some pics (originally taken with my iphone 4S) from my computer back to my iPhone I got the following error message: "iTunes will no longer sync photos to the iPhone "Peter's iPhone". Do you want to keep or remove photos previosly synced to your iPhone?"
Coincidentally, my wife just purchased an iPhone 4S and syncs to iTunes on the same computer.

The "best" way to handle it, if you want to keep everything separate, is to create separate user accounts on the computer. make sure you log into your account on the computer before you attempt to sync your phone and log out when you're done using the computer.
Though it's possible to sync both of them to the same iTunes library, and even share an account for the iTunes store, you're inviting confusion and possible data loss (as you've discovered already). Best to just use separate user accounts on the computer. That also gives you the benefit of not polluting the other persons browser favorites, contacts, etc.

IPod will no longer sync podcasts from iTunes store

Both our iPod and iPod Nano will no longer sync podcasts. We have downloaded new music, which will sync, but not the new podcasts from the iTunes store. iTunes indicates that it is syncing (which takes about 1 second) but the podcasts are not synced.
We have deleted all the existing podcasts and downloaded a single new one, with no change in the problem. We have tried both iPods and the result is the same.
We are running ESET NOD32 version 3.0 for Anti-Virus. We have checked with ESET and performed the exceptions that are known to cause problems with iTunes, and there has been no change, except that iTunes no longer freezes, which it previously did.
Hopefully someone out there can help us.

easiest way i have found to resolve the issue is go into itunes while phone is plugged in. you will have a list of tabs across, summery, info, ringtones, music. select music and where it displays sync music unselect that and hit apply in the bottom right (dont worry your music should be saved on the computer) once the sync is complete re check the music sync option. ive noticed this to work 95% of the time......hope this helps

ITunes removed contacts from iPhone and will no longer sync

iTunes 10 on OS X Lion removed all my contacts from my iPhone 3G and will no longer sync them. I had about 500 contacts, I'm not about to enter them manually. Now I have no idea who is calling or texting. This is absolutely ridiculous! There is absolutely no support!

If iTunes will not sync contacts to your iPhone4...
Go to
Settings
Main, contacts etc.
scroll down to "Contacts"
under "contacts you see a list. Choose the menu "Default Account"
You will see a choice between "From My Mac" and "iCloud"...select "From my Mac"

Another major Apple mistake - Outlook will no longer sync to iPhone 4

I have had my iPhone4 for almost a month now and it has os4.0.1 firmware. And my PC is running XP Pro with all updates as well as iTunes 9.2.1.5.
After missing several important meetings, I realized that changes made on either the iP4 or PC were NOT being synced. (And I thought it was just me forgetting to put stuff in Outlook or on the iP4.)
This has really put back my fear factor in Apple's ability to understand and support the business community properly. They had this problem back on iP3g with v2.2 firmware, but it was fixed. I began to rely on sync 100% for everything again.
Now, it's all gone down the tubes again. I've noticed the following:
1) any changes made to Outlook on PC or iP4 are not being synced on the other
2) many pictures on existing contacts have dissappeared on the iP4
3) pictures added back on iP4 frequently dissappear again after a sync
4) adding or changing contact pictures on PC are not synced to iP4 and existing picture is removed
I don't know if it's iTunes or the iPhone software. BTW, I installed os4.0.1 on my old iPhone3g and tried to sync. Guess what? It doesn't work.
However, I remember really giving the new iP4 (os4.0) a pretty good going over when I got it to make sure that things synced properly and I felt confident that nothing was broken. But since then I've updated to os4.0.1 and at least one update of iTunes since then.

Fair enough. But at the same time, I have the lastest itunes version and the lastest ip4 OS and I am syncing my outlook with no problems. Maybe the OP's computer downloaded the lastest version of itunes incorrectly. Granted, I am not an expect in all these hardware/software technologies. Yeah, it's certainly possible, but given the situation, and the testing that the OP has done, not likely.
I just want Apple’s products to work. And I really don’t understand why some people can’t seem to deal with the fact that Outlook synchronisation is crucial.
Everybody want what they purchase to work. I could see their frustration when something does not work. People should come into these forums asking for help. It does not do any good to whine or play the blaming game. Like John said, we are getting tired of people complaining and whining about their products not working. If they have a problem, post the problem and we will try to help.
And, yes, I agree, people do come on here and complain, sometimes quite rationally, sometimes not. It's better to just state the problem and ask for help. The OP sort of did that, but the title was a bit inflammatory. I'd have probably titled it "iPhone 4 will no longer sync to Outlook", and left off the editorial at the beginning.
There's a level of frustration that can creep in here, of course. When something works fine for a long time and then suddenly stops working, (and especially if you miss business calls because of that problem) - it can push people over the edge.
I hope that this synchronisation issue does get fixed. I'd love to log in to the board one day and see that people have downloaded a new update (either to iOS or iTunes) and that they can now reliably connect between Outlook and their phone.
