Phone will not power on

I have a iPhone 4S 64G that I bought about 3 weeks ago. I have not updated the software to 5.0.1. Last night I did not charge it and it was dead this morning. When I plugged the charger in this morning the apple symbol came on and then the phone showed a full charge. I knew something was wrong immediately. Then it never got a signal. I plugged and unplugged about three times and kept gettiing the same result. Then when I got to work, I plugged it into my computer and all it would do was show the apple sign then shut off. It did this cycle by itself. Finally I unplugged it and tried to hard reset it several times. Finally, it went into restore mode. I am trying to restore but it keeps giving me an error and will not update.
I called Verizon and they are sending me a new phone tomorrow.
I am wondering if anyone else has had the same experience?

If you are not able to get your iPhone to power on, try to reset it by holding the Sleep/wake button and Home button at the same time for about 10 seconds and see if it turns on. Check out the articles below to troubleshoot your iPhone further.

I lost my slide to power down after updating. Now I got to hold the buttons longer than normal and it just shuts off.. Not to mention lost my iMessage & FT(activation pending) problems. Hope theres some fixes soon

Try hard resetting the phone. Holding the home button (button at the bottom of the screen) and the sleep/wake button at the same time for about 8 seconds. Nokia Xpress Music Phone will not power on!

So my phone was working fine yesterday. Got home last night, shut it off and plugged it in to charge. Get up this morning, and it will not power on right. I will try to turn it on, it will light up for about a minute. Show my welcome screen and then go black. I thought it had charged all night and it shows a full battery but will not turn on. Anyone else have/had this problem?

My iPhone will not power off.

Try to reset it: hold the on/off and home buttons until you see the Apple logo (ignoring the off slider that appears first), then release. If it won't reset just let the battery run down until it turns off, then recharge it.

Phone does not power off. It only does in safe mode. Once in safe mode still can not normally power off but only on safe mode.

And ticked the enable quick boot mode. Deactivated and now is fine.

TREO 755P HEEEEEELLLLLLLLLP!!! Phone will not power on...

Lately my 755p will reset on its own, but it always comes back up althought it is very annoying. My phone jus reset itself again, but now it will not turn back on. It keeps going back and forth between the "access powered" screen and the "palm" screen. I have taken the battery out and left it out for several minutes, but I'm still getting the same screens. does ANYONE have any suggestions on how to fix this crap?! I am really starting to hate this phone.

you will need to hardreset the device. if it's not resolved, try renaming the backup folder in your username.

HT201210 help phone will not power on

whenever i power my phone on it says to connect to itunes. i do this and then it tells me to restore my phone which i choose to do. i get the apple icon and a loading bar come up on my phone and wait 5 mins. after waiting it then tells me on itunes that there is a problem and cannot restore my phone. can someone please help as i have bought this phone 2nd hand of amazon and am now being told apple cannot help me as the warranty has expired.

I just loaded release 7.1.1 on my iPhone 5. The phone will not power up.

Tried to update to 7.1.1. After a long download session, the screen went black and never returned. Took the upload on my iPhone 4S, it took a long time but eventually came back to life.
Any thoughts?

iPhones are not user servicable.
Take the device to a competent repair person or buy a new one.

Phine was working before bed last night and woke up this morning thinking the battery was dead. After multiple attempts of charging the phone with different chargers attempted to restore/reboot (?) by holding the sleep/wake button and home button at the same time. This too has proven unsuccessful. Any help or advice would be greastly appreciated!!!

If you have left the phone charge for an extended period of time and then have tried a reset and then a restore (through iTunes), then I would have to say there seems to be a hardware issue and you only choice is to see Apple.

Your question is a bit vague. If the iPhone is shutting down but then turning right back on. The fix can be to clean the iPhone charging port with a clean dry toothbrush. See if fixed. If still problem, and there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation and take to Apple for resolution. If no coverage, then clean the iPhone charging port again with the toothbrush and small amount of Isopropyll Alcohol. If still problem, some users have been able to turn it OFF, by connecting just the USB cable and then turning it OFF.

HELP.. iPhone 4 will not power on

Not sure what happened as I was using the phone prior to going to sleep last night and all was fine. I set my alarm clock to wake up but the phone will not power on thus I woke up late. I have charged the phone for 3 hours today so its not that it ran low. Has anyone had a problem with their phone not powering on? I tried holding down the power button as well as the home button. Also no one was using the phone besides me. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks

Not really sure, but I while I never had to soft boot my 3G due to something like this, I did have a few friends who did have to. With so many Apps being used on so many devices, it's possible an app made your phone go to sleep, but it's not really an issue, because you can wake it up easily. The Apple store suggested that soft booting (if there is such a word) is good to clear the cache and help the phone operate at peak speed. So, it's something I've gotten in the habit of doing a few times a week and maybe that's why I never have any issues........

Connect to Wall Charger for 10 minutes, the iPhone may turn ON itself. If still OFF keep on charger and Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to start. This can take about 20 seconds time of holding both buttons while on charger.
