Phone won't reactivate
I am having trouble with my phone. I needed to charge my Thunderbolt and I had a appointment so I grabbed my Droid and dialed *228 and I went to my appointment. Well I came back home and grabbed my Thunderbolt and tried to use*228 and it would not allow me to activate my phone. I took it to my Verizon store and they told me I had to put a new sim in the phone. So we did that and I was told it might take 5 min.-24hrs to activate. Well that was Thursday of last week and still no phone. I was at the Verizon Store 4 times between Thursday and Friday and still all I was told that it would take some time before the techs on Verizon network could get to my phone, just how long does it take? Any help or insight from anyone would be helpful .
I was told by someone that works at my local Verizon store that if you try to dial *228 on the Thunderbolt (and possibly any other 4G phone) that you will more than likely mess up the Sim card. The Sim card has all the activation information on it. All you have to do is put the Sim card and the SD card in the phone, turn on the phone and wait (it can take up to 10 minutes for the phone to activate). You might want to connect it to the charger while it is doing this.

I changed my ICloud account ID but my new phone won't let me change it unless I put in my old password and turn off the find my phone feature. But the phone will not recognize my old password. Can someone help me?
New iPhones don't come setup with an Apple ID/Password. What you're experiencing is called Activation Lock, & unless you know the original Apple ID/Password that was originally used to first activate this phone, you won't be able to reactivate it.
You can login to iCloud.com, from any computer, use Find My Phone to locate & erase the phone. But, you'll still need to know the original Apple ID/Password to reactivate it. -

Hi, I am just after downloading ios 5 to my iphone but now the apps on my phone won't work, even the free ones. Have tried deleting and reinstalling but it asks for credit card details even for the free apps. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Thanks
If it is asking for account details then it might just need you to confirm your account before it lets you proceed. Maybe the terms and conditions changed since last time or something like that. Try signing into your Apple account in iTunes on a computer first to check that. Then restart the phone and try again.

Since iOS 7.1 my phone won't turn on and is asking me to connect to iTunes. I connect to itunes and it says it needs to be restored. Not sure why. I try to restore it and then it says something went wrong and it won't work. So I've been without my phone for a couple days now. It gives me error code (29). The phone almost reboots and then 3/4 of the way through it gives me the error message.

I downloaded iOS 8.2 on my iPhone 5s 32 GB and now my phone won't connect to the iTunes store, and my iTunes Match is turned off and won't turn back on... Try restoring it using Recovery Mode.

You made a purchase and exhausted the credit on your card before it processed. All purchases are final. Contact iTunes Store support. You need to settle up before you can purchase or download anything else.

In preferences turn on iTunes sharing in iTunes preferences and keep iTunes turned on in both accounts. Or better yet put the iTunes library on the main HD rather than in an account and set the location of the library to that location in iTunes preferences.

I tried to update my iTunes software on my iPhone today and plugged it into my laptop. Before the process was complete, I received an error message saying I had to "restore" my iPhone before it would work with iTunes. Even more importantly, and troublesome, is the fact that now my phone won't even work at all. I can't turn the iPhone on, and all the screen shows is the iTunes icon with a picture of the white power cord. Can someone advise if there is a way to update the software without restoring my iPhone, which will cause me to lose everything on the phone (much of which I have not backed up yet)? Last, is my stuff already backed up by iCloud? I believe I have sellected that option on my phone, but honestly, have never really understood what iCloud is or does. Thanks in advance for any assistance/advice.

I currently have a DROID RAZR M and I'm 1 year into my 2 year contract. Since the Kitkat update, the phone won't stay charged and it's very buggy. I know this is not Verizons fault but it's also not mine. I would like to change my phone to an iPhone 5s and keep my same plan but switch to the Edge program. Is this possible? I don't think I should have to pay an early termination fee or anything like that since my phone has become almost unusable. I know under normal circumstances you have to wait 2 yrs to upgrade but due to the update and the poor service I'm now getting I hope Verizon can make an exception. Thank you.
How recently did you switch? If it's less than 60 days, then Verizon simply reinstates your previous account. The fact that you were on the EDGE plan and mailed the devices back, and they apparently are somewhere in the system, could cause complications, and it might just work out that you just go back on the same plan and they set you up with the same devices. I'm not sure how it will go - but since you are still being billed for the devices...

My iPhone prompted me to download the latest version of iOS7. I did, and now my phone won't power on. It just shows an iTunes icon on a black screen. When I connect my phone to iTunes on my laptop, the only option it gives me is to restore my phone's factory settings. But won't this erase all my photos, contacts, etc? Any suggestions?
It's in recovery mode. You don't have a choice. You have to restore the phone. Anything that was on it is already gone.
If you've been backing up/syncing on a regular basis, you won't lose anything except what's changed since the last backup.

I am running SUNWiim 7.2-26. When running the client it seems to try to reconnect after about 1 or 2 minutes. Is there a keepalive setting that can be put in the iim.conf to fix this?
