Phone won't reboot / continuous timer screen

Hello,
I was in the wifi manager, intending to search for wifi in the area, when an error message flashed up (I didn't get time to read it all although it said reset? at the end). Then my phone went to a white screen with the timer clock on it and it has been like that since (about 6  hours). I tried taking the battery out, and the battery and the SIM card - leaving both out for 2 hours, but as soon as I put the battery back in the timer clock screen came back.
Could you tell me how to fix this please.
In reference to the previous message - I do not know the free memory space etc - sorry!
Thanks
Dawn

PS. the clock screen has now gone - it is just completely black. I have taken the battery out for more than 5 minutes but it doesn't reboot. A red light comes on when I put the battery in but doesn't stay on...

32GB iphone 5, Got it day one so im sure its out of warranty so im just gonna have my 4S re activated if I cannot solve this issue. The phone has been shutting off latley sometimes because of slight shock like me dropping it, in an otterbox all its life. So to get it started again I have to connect it to a charger and hit it and try turning it on multiple times. For a couple week prior it would act like the battery was completley dead I would have to connect to a charger and it would reboot and be normal for about a day or two. Very odd question I don't expect much of an answer as to the bizzare nature of the problem. Just lookin to see if anyone has had the same problem and info would be greatly appreciated!!
    Thanks,
         CB

Sounds like the battery has become disconnected inside the phone if u shift it and hear a soft thud then that is the case otherwise not a clue

  • HELP!!  My 3G won't reboot off frozen screen.

I opened an app I downloaded from my app store and my screen just froze and won't respond at all. I tried plugging it in to a charger and my computer to reset and NOTHING? Will it just die and reboot ok?

have you tried holding the home button and power button until it restarts? 99% of the time this works.

  • Phone won't leave the clock screen

Hey guys, I have a lumia 1020 and all of a sudden it wont leave the front screen that has the clock on it.  Pressing the power button doesn't bring up the lock screen and doing a soft reset didn't do anything either.  Any ideas?
    Cheers,
    Brendan

@ jackdallas- Did you try the reset suggested by ceroberts75 above ?
Press Power + Volume(down) keys until the phone vibrates (about 8-10 seconds). Phone will reboot.
Now check if the issue is resolved...

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain a known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem.
Good luck and let us know!

It is helpful to people if you tell them your phone model. How did you let it dry? Did you take the cover off, the battery out, and put all of it in a bag of rice for a day?

    Hi Manish,
There are 7961 with the different subnet experience the same issue and connected to the same switch. Also for the other models. The debug displays the same problem.

I guess the problem comes from CUCM itself but I have no idea where it is triggered.

  • Phone won't restart

Today, I did a reset on my phone (holding sleep and home buttons) and the Apple logo came up like usual, but my phone did not reboot. The screen just shut off after a minute or so, and pressing the home or wake buttons don't do anything. If I hold them down to reset again, the Apple logo appears again, but I get the same results. I tried plugging it into my computer, but iTunes doesn't recognize the phone. Anyone know what's wrong, or how I can fix it?

    Try this:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, itunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.

  • Just upgraded to 2.1 and phone is constantly rebooting

    Hi all,
I just updated to 2.1 and my phone is constantly rebooting (8 times in the last 5 minutes). Is this just me, or is anyone else seeing this?
I am currently in a building with very poor phone service, so that may be related (it just reboot for the 9th time).
    Kirk

my phone is doing this as well...frustrating...

  • Just bought a new iphone4 and was loading os6 and now it won't turn on. the apple glows like it is starting up, then the screen goes black and then repeats the same process over and over. i have tried to reboot multiple times now

I am assuming the phone was working prior to you installing IOS 6? Did you use itunes to install IOS 6 or just run from the phone?
When I tried to do the Over The Air update to IOS6 on my iPhone 4, it errored out and I had to connect it to iTunes and select "Restore" from the summary screen after iTunes finds the phone is connected. If this works for you, it will go through a couple of reboots that take a few minutes to complete. It should then give you the option to start with a fresh new phone or to use one of your previous backups to load your contacts and other information, provided you have backed up the phone previously.
I hope this helps you my friend!

  • HT4623 just updated my iPhone 4s to ios6, now my phone won't turn back on. The apple logo comes on and sits then shuts off. I have held down the home button and on/off switch several times to reset, but same problem persists.

Place iPhone on Wall Charger for at least 10 minutes. Then keep on charger and Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to start, this can take about 20 seconds of holding both buttons while on charger. If still problem, open iTunes 10.7 on computer, connect iPhone to computer with USB Cable, hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, then click Restore button of iTunes. If still problem, try DFU Mode Restore, here are the steps. Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB cable. Hold both Home and Power buttons, after exactly 10 seconds release the Power Button, keep holding the Home button until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, usually about 20 seconds time. If the iPhone screen is black, blank this is DFU Mode. Click the Restore button of iTunes. DFU Mode can be difficult to enter sometimes, just keep trying. DFU Mode is a black, blank screen with iTunes saying Recovery Mode. If still problem and there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation and take to Apple for resolution.

  • Firefox won't let me update. It tells me I have to reboot each time to finish a earlier update. I tried three times.

When I try to update a popup screen tells me that I need to reboot to complete a previous update. I have rebooted three times and keep getting the same message.

Wow that was really quick, thank you so much.  Im not sure at all which version it was because i said it was around 4 years ago he bought it.  I know it isn't under his username, since he's a PC person (ugh) so i know its probably registered to one of our actual names.  isn't there some way to look it up since we did register it, because I'm not even sure where the disks are from when we bought it (we've moved a lot and also have two storage lockers, i know i would have kept it with other disks) but my cd rom drive is actually broken on my computer as well ( i think it got stepped on and is now squished and won't eject or run disks.)
So is there anyway they can look up that its registered to one of our names since we did register it when we bought and installed it, or do i really have to find the disk with some sort of proof of purchase (i know there would be no receipt after all this time)
either way, ill do what you suggested to the best of my abilities and thank you so much for answering my questions, i can't even open the program as its incompatible and find out the info from that) so I'm in a bit of a pickle and your response was so thorough and it didn't seem to be posted long enough to even write a well researched response, thanks, all the best,
    sarucia

    Hi Lisa 1952,
What have you done so far to try to fix it? I've tried rebooting several times and it did not work. Tried connecting to iTines but it does not recognize the iPhone.
My other iPhone 4s restarted successfully after the updgrade but some apps don't function properly. It automatically closes while in use.
Apple please help. I know it's the weekend but I need the other iPhone to work. Can't use sim with a diffrent phone because it's a micro sim!
