Phone won't turn on after battery drain...

Here's my situation: My iPhone 3G S ran out of battery over night. So this morning I got to work at 9 and plugged it in. It's been over an hour now and it's still not turning on. I've tried doing a reset, getting it into recovery mode, it's just not responding. Any suggestions?

When its plugged in, if you give the screen a good hard look, you should be able to see a very dark battery icon and a charging symbol - but they are not lit up at all.
If you don't see them, then the charging possibly isn't working - are you USB charging or using the main adapter ?

  • Phone Won't Turn on After battery died

Yesterday my phone completely died, causing my phone to shut off.  I have had it charging for about 8 hours and I get nothing.  The red light will come on for about 15 seconds, then off, then back on... Any suggestions?

Are you seeing on the screen a battery symbol with a slash (/) through it?
Leave the device to charge 2-3 hours, and then, still connected to the USB cable, remove the the battery from the device a few seconds and reinsert it. If it boots--leave it to charge to 100% (check Options > Status for the percentage). If it doesn't reboot on the first attempt, leave it several more hours. I've had one charge for two days before it came back to life after an extreme battery depletion. Every 3-4 hours, with the device still connected to the charger, you can remove and replace the battery to see if it reboots.
If not, no dead battery symbol... If your BlackBerry stays powered off with a black screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life might be the blinking red LED light in the top corner. Nothing seems to wake it up and Desktop Manager doesn't recognize any device is connected.
    1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):
    "c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm
    3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
    4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
    5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Congrats! Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.
NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's Operating System for your carrier and device.
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate carrier and network type, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right path.

  • Phone won't turn on after charging

I charged my phone and now when I try to turn it on the Verizon banner flashes on and off but the phone won't turn on.

    Which phone do you have?

  • Blackberry Q10 won't turn on after battery switch

I am a loyal blackberry user, but this will without a doubt be the last phone I EVER purchase from them.  I have been let down so many times in one device.
Despite always having my phone kept in an Otterbox case, with all ports covered and NO damage being done to the phone, THE CHARGER PORT BREAKS.  Now a weight and a wedge are required to prop the phone and charger at the correct angle to make contact.  Absolutely no reason for this to have happened.
As the connection became worse,  I resorted to purchasing an external battery changer and extra battery for my Q10.
Today, upon battery #1 going dead, I tried to switch to the fully charged backup battery.
    It won't turn on.
No signs of life, no flashing LED.
All the information I've found on getting this device to restart involve a reliable charging port, which this phone does not have.
I am beyond dissapointed in the lack of worsksmanship put into these phones.  My device is just over a year old and has been treated properly.  It has become quite clear to me that these are being made of a disposable quality, to be upgraded when the newest model comes out.  Unacceptable.

Hey, this happen to me too.  I already use this BlackBerry for 2 days and that "thing" happened. I'm freaking out too but after that I did this to my BB:
    1. take out your battery
    2. take the wall charger and connect it to your phone
    3. after you connect it, then you can insert you battery
    4. click the turn on button (the red one) all the time.
    5. and then just wait for a couple minutes, your BB will turn on again and charging
But when charging, don't turn your phone off.
That's all I know, hope it can help you.

  • Help! Phone won't turn on after ICS update

So I just updated my phone a few hours ago. I looked down at it to see if it was finished and noticed it was off. When I tried to turn it on it wouldn't power up. I've had it on the charger for an hour now. When it goes on the charger, the red Motorola insignia comes on the screen but nothing happens after that. My phone may have died during the upgrade so that could be the problem. I've reset it about 10 times and it still won't turn on. Any suggestions???? I had a baby a month ago and would be devastated if I lost my pictures.

Jess i can tell Ya is Hook your Razr up to the Charger and Leave it on there for about 3 Hours Maybe 4 and then with the Charger Hooked to it Try to Restart it.. if you Can See were your at on the Download it Takes about 15 Minutes for the Initial Download then the Phone Will Power itself but should Come Back on and Finish the Rest of you Will see the Little Android Character And Below it A Rectangle box and you should see another Bar in Yellow moving across it. When that's Finished Give it some Time and it Reboot itself and then Update you Apps then it should Finished After That.. But hopefully By leaving it on the Charger for a While Will pull it out of the State it's in Now..

  • HT201210 my phone won't turn on after trying to restore it with iTunes what do i do??!! also it just has the blue music app with an arrow and power cord on it. HELP!

My phone will NOT turn back on after trying to restore it with itunes. It just has the blue music app with an arrow & the usb side of the power cord on it.
    Help me please!!

    Hello Sean,
It sounds like you are constantly needing to restore your phone because it keeps going into recovery mode. Usually putting a device into recovery mode and restoring it can help isolate an issue to your iPhone hardware if an issue persists afterwards. I would try manually putting it into recovery mode and restoring it 1 more time:
If you can't update or restore your iOS device

If that does not resolve it the symptoms indicate to me that it is a hardware issue causing this to happen and would seek service for it:

  • Blackberry won't turn on after battery died

I left my charger at home when I was on a trip and my blackberry's battery was running low. I didn't turn it off and when my curve died, i assumed it was because the battery was too low and it died. When I got home I tried to charge it to the wall charger and.. nothing. Not even a blink on the LED. I left it for the whole night thinking it might take some time. The next morning i tried to switch it on, and nothing happened. I tried a battery pull and it also failed. I took out the memory card, sim card and battery, assembled them back after 30 mins and still nothing. Without the battery, when i put it the wall charger to the USB, there was a 10 second red light on the LED and the screen showed the no-battery symbol, so my charger is well and fine. I checked my phone and there was no water damages. Tried connecting it to my PC and nothing happened. Been using this curve for the past 5 months and this has never happened before. help!

  • My phone won't turn on after updating ios 6.1

I've updated ios 6.1. The phone went off durign the night (it had 60% battery).
Now it only turns on plugged to the wall socket (not if I plug it to the USB port) and it shows the "iOS 6 Configuration" screen, telling me to connect to iTunes, but if I unplug it to connect to the USB, it turns off.
If I plug it to the USB, it keeps showing the little apple, and turns off, again and again. It never gets to the same screen of the "iOS 6 configuration".
I can´t seem to turn it on with de DFU mode plugged to the computer.

    Hi elmauki,
    Error 21
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
    Error 1602
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
    When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

  • IPad won't turn on after battery died

I recently got a second-hand iPad 2 from a family member.  It was working fine until the battery died, and after charging for a moment, it will start turning on, but when it gets to the home screen, it only shows for a second before immediately turning off again.  I'm using a 1A charger and was wondering if that was the issue, or if there is something wrong with my iPad.

Try using the original charger and cable.

  • Nano won't turn on after battery died

I left my Nomo for a week and tried to turn it on. The screen only showed the battery icon that means you must leave it to charge. After leaving it for hours. Now the icon has disapeared and the iPod will not turn on. It isn't my usb port because I've plugged other things in it and they worked.
    4GB Nano   Windows XP

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
I have experienced this issue myself earlier. I use my iPod USB AC charger to recharge the nano and now it is working properly.
USB ports on PCs may not have sufficient power to "kickstart" a power-depleted iPod nano. I strongly recommend you get an iPod USB AC charger and use that to recharge the iPod.

  • Phone won't turn on after lock screen until I reset

So recently every time I lock my phone I can't unlock it with out restarting it using the off button near the sim card. Certain apps such as Facebook and Sky News then won't work. My phone is about 8 months old and is up to date so don't know why this is happening. How do I get it to stop?

  • Updated my iPhone 5s to 7.0.6 and the phone won't turn back on.

Phone won't turn on after Apple update 7.0.6. Any ideas of the problem and solution?

Did you already try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
If this does not work, try to connect in recovery mode, explained here:
iOS: Unable to update or restore
