Phone won't wall charge, but will charge with car and USB inputs.
Yes, I have tried multiple wall chargers in multiple outlets, so the wall charger itself is not the problem. My car charger and computer USB charge the phone fine. What is going on?
Maybe there is a defect in usb-connector of your wall-charger.

My ipod will not charge from a wall socket but will charge using the same cable if the usb end is plugged into a computer or directly into an airport power source. My iphone and ipad charge fine on the same cable using the same wall plug in the same wall socket. This makes no sense but I see that it has been posted as a problem elsewhere. This must be due to some kind of degredation of the Ipod. . It is not fixed by IOS resets as others have noted.

Ipod doesn't recognise wall charger but will charge through pc
I'm completely puzzled - its stopped picking up charge all of a sudden if I plug it into the mains although my OH ipod classic charges fine with the mains adaptor. If I plug it into the pc it is charging fine via that. I tried resetting it to see if that made any difference but it doesn't.
If I switch it off so it has a black screen and then plug the mains adaptor in the screen display doesn't light up but I can see images as though it is powering up.
Any suggestions - its out of warranty in Nov this year.I have the same problem here. Charges via usb but will not charge via wall or car charger.

IPAD 2 Won't Charge on USB port on my laptop, my desktop Mac but will charge via the wall plug
I am confused on what to do with my IPAD 2. It won't charge via my USB Port on my PC that I travel with. Also I just purchased a new desktop Mac and it will not charge on that USB port either. But it will charge via the Wall Plug that came with it. I am worried when I travel to different countries to use the wall plug. I have an adapter to switch power. I am from Canada and travel oversees where the power is 240 vs the 120 at home. If I use my plug adapter and plug in my ipad to the wall Will I destroy the battey in my IPAD 2. I love my ipad to travel with but it is very frustrating when it will not charge on my PC or on the airplane. Then I am afraid to use the wall plug in the airport because of the difference in power. Would really appreciate some help here because I am oversees 2 weeks a month and only get a couple days use of my IPAD. I have all my books and everything on it and need to be able to recharge it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Confused!!!!For better future reference, you should be aware that the voltage means nothing when it comes to charging power. All that that is telling you is that the Power Adapter will work across that voltage range, i.e., you don't need a transformer to plug it into the outlet (although you may need different plugs, which is a separate topic).
What matters is the amperage (A) and the power in watts (W). The Power Adapter puts out 2 A @ 5 VDC (volts DC), which means it's producing 10 watts of power. It will output that across the entire voltage range.
A high-power USB port on a PC will put out 0.5A @ 5VDC, or 2.5 W. Be aware that not all of the ports on any given PC are likely to be putting out even that much power, at may well be putting out less than half as much. That's why you'll often see the "Not Charging" when plugged into a USB port, especially on Windoze laptops, and why it will charge very slowly even when it works.
FYI, the charger which is sold with the iPhone looks identical, is called the same thing, but only puts out 1A. It will work on the iPad but will charge more slowly. By that same token, the iPad charger will charge an iPhone just fine, it will just charge faster. -
IPad2 won't charge with 10w wall charger, but will via USB port

My iPad2 recently stopped charging at all with the 10W wall charger -- the iPad does not even recognize that the charger is attached (no change in the battery icon). Meanwhile, charging from a USB port works as otherwise expected. Here is what I have done so far to debug the problem, using tips found on this forum:
I replaced the wall charger, including the USB cable, with a new 10W charger from Apple -- no change;
I verified that both the new and old wall charger will charge a borrowed iPad3.
I verified that the same USB cable used with the wall charger will charge my iPad fine when connected to my Mac Mini or a borrowed MBA;
When connected to a powered USB port on a Lenovo ThinkPad, I get the expected "Not Charging" message, but eventually (12 hours) the iPad will charge;
I have performed a hard reboot of the iPad several times, with no change in behavior.
What I have not done yet:
6. Restore to factory settings -- trying to avoid this painful step if possible:
7. Visited the Apple Store -- not logistically convenient at this time.
Any tips from the community what else I might try? I find it curious that the iPad won't recognize a closed charging circuit from the wall charger, but will from a laptop USB port.

I've had a 30 pin port go bad on my iPad. Said it was 'not charging' even though it was trickle charging, didn't wnat to sync, ,etc.
You very possibly have something internal wrong with your port and it'd be in your best interest to take it in. Especially if it's still under warranty because, barring any obvious signs of abuse or neglect, the 30 pin would fall under manufacturer's defects. -
why won't Verizon return a phone to a customer if it was damaged during returned shipping BUT will charge you for it $300 ....

they lie say they cant... when they actually can... it is just a policy they have that says CANT....Standard operating procedures. All about the Benjamins baby. Don't send a damaged phone for warrant claim if that's what happened file an ins. Claim or have it repaired.

I know part of my question is a repeat of others, but - I can't find one on the boards that matches mine exactly.
Basically, many months into having my phone (I'm updated to the current software), my phone is refusing to charge by wall sockets. I thought it may have been a specific socket, so I tried others. No luck. I tried connecting to one of the power strips I my room, again, no luck. With my last attempt, I plugged it into one of the USB ports on my new power outlet block (has two USB ports), AGAIN, no power.
I switched and also tried 4 different cords. No change.
At this point, after an hour of extreme frustration, my phone had died. So, I plugged it in for you-know-what's & giggles. Within about 15 minutes, my phone mysteriously powered on with about 5% battery - but, NO CHARGING SYMBOL AND NO CHARGING ONCE ON! I even tried almost every outlet, in a two story house, while switching between outlet, power strip, and USB ports on the power block - to no avail!
I was stunned, so as a last resort I went to my car. I have a 12v universal USB charger, as well as a USB port that is built into the car. They work...
As you can surely see, I'm extremely frustrated. Since my fiancés iPhone is broken, and my mother (whom I do not live with) is a severe heart patient, and currently sick - I need my phone on & running out to let the phone charge in 20* weather and going out to check it every hour, is not ideal.
So, ultimately, if anyone can explain to me if they believe it could be a circuitry issue, battery issue, or phone issue - also, explain as to why it will charge by two methods in my car, but not any means in my house; I would be greatly appreciative!

last night I tried to charge my iPhone 4 with my ps3 USB ports, suddenly it began to stop charging and start again like on/off so i unplugged it from my ps3, now it wont charge with my ac adapter or my macbook, however it charges on one computer that ive build my self. if my phone turn off due to 0% battery it will charge anywhere until it got 5% power
since it charges means nothing is wrong with the phone i think, so I will buy a new USB cable, or borrow one to see if it works. most likely the usb cable causing the problem for both of us -

my iphone 3gs is charging on the wall charger but wont charge on the pc, have cleaned it, yet it can sync and update with itunes easily, but it still wont charge, have tried several cables as well same effect.
1) authorize iTunes on your wife's user account for her iTunes store account(s)
2) connect the device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred her purchases in the previous step, your content will be in her library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it. -
My Mac Mini will charge - but not sync with - USB-connected devices (ipod, camera, memory card reader). I have tried unplugging the devices, restarting the computer, selectively unplugging and plugging in the devices, closing and opening the relevant applications (iTunes, iPhoto, etc). I have tried using different USB cables.
It's like all of a sudden the synching service stopped functioning or recognizing these devices for some reason. The other ports work just fine (monitor).
The only USB-connected external device that appears to be unaffected is the USB SuperDrive and it works on all the USB ports into which I plug it.
How do I fix this?Open Console in Applications>Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens or doesn't happen.

Hi, I have a MacBook Pro. It is plugged in and charging but will not switch on. I try pushing ctrl, shift, alt and power together then release and press power again. The laptop goes to a white screen but switches off straight away. Any ideas?
P.s. it is now going to apple logo on white screen then switches off

It sounds to me like the charger that came with the iPhone 5 is defective, or the cable is if you've been switching the cables when you switch the chargers.

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
- Try another cable. I dubt it will help but do it since you have more cables
- Try another USB port
- Try on another cable. Again I doubt it will do anything
- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
