my nokia n95 has stopped playing ALL video files, this including ones the phone has recorded. mp4. every video!
real player loads up the files playes them but only the sound. the picture is black and the timer dos'nt even count. whats happening here?????

That's very odd, you could try what android said.
Can you post the specific video properties of your video.

Just installed the latest Version of Firefox and it wont play any videos or games? Help, so tired and frustrated with this web browser.

I just installed the newest version of Firefox version30. It wont play videos on youtube but i figured out what to do to fix that (change to "never activate" on Shockwave Flash add-on in plugins).
But if i leave that setting on then the game that i try to play on Facebook tells me turn on flash and when i do i still get a blank screen on FB. What do i need to do?

Try to set the Flash plug to click-to-play by setting the permissions for Flash to "Ask To Activate" in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins". That way you can activate the Flash plugin when you need it via the Lego block icon on the location bar.
Also, I don't even see Flash listed as installed on Firefox. Are you sure you have it installed? Try downloading it from the below site

Flash wont play embedded videos only on some accounts

Here is my system and software configuration. Windows7 - IE8 32 bit -- latest Flash version. Flash plays embedded videos under administrator account but not on the other user accounts. Youtube and tests on adobe site shows flash working on all accounts. I've checked IE security settings and kill bit in the registry. Harware acceleration does not make a difference. I've unloaded and loaded Flash multiple times even in the other accounts changing account type to administrator temporarily. Nothing will make it work. I've checked firewall and Norton AV turning them on and off. I am out of ideas and out of patience. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi, just wanted to tell this is exactly the same problems I have. And I have tested like you said. My administrator user account can show embeded videos correctly, but both my non-adm user account can not show correctly embeded. And tried to change non-adm account to adm - did not help.
System: Vista home, IExplorer 9
Videos on Youtube.com plays perfect and the adobe "about" flash page shows I have installed latest and I see a spinning logo with my non-adm users.
I have also checked the kill-bit in registery.
But I did find out something, unfortunally it's not a solution, but a clue what's going on - I hope.
If I open this example webpage, all I can see are 2 blank frames and a icon in upper left corner.
If I open same weblink with my adminastror, I can see the videos.

After alot of search on the web, I found some ideas. Copy the below text and save it as "test.html", and open the file in IExplorer. This html text is a mix of collected html-text from above webpage and added some from youtube.com where you get the html-code to copy&paste to embed. The source at end is using IFRAME methode.
The only visible embeded sources using my non-adm account are those that has a "classid" added or IFRAME methode. If there is no "classid" my non-adm account only sees a blank frame and icon in upper left. My administrator account does see ALL sources.
But how to fix that I can see all embeded as non-adm user - sorry, I have no clue
One extra thing: I noticed when running IExplorer as non-adm user, I can see a line in the process-list in windows taskmananger, process-name "FlashUtil10n_ActiveX.exe" with info-text "Adobe Flash Player Installer/Uninstaller 10.2r152" if I try to view a webpage with flash source.
If I do the same thing with my administrator user this process is not listed in windows taskmanager.

Adobe Premiere Pro wont play any video/audio

Hello! i recently got an Adobe creative cloud membership. and so i have been editing a video. no problems, no lag, nothing, its all been wonderful.
but i sent the video to SpeedGrade, then exported from there and had an audio sync issue, that i decided to fix by aligning the old video clips audio with the new graded versions video.
upon importing (old non graded and new greaded versions) the 8 minute files, and double clicking them to view them, they wouldn't play, even after a couple minutes.
and they wouldn't play in the timeline either.
so i tried many things, restarting, deleting my preference files, deleting and re-installing the application, using different video files + projects.
i even tried an old project that i had. no other applications are suffering from this problem. (like after effects or speedgrade, they are 100% fine)
i also tried different settings, including ones with the mercury playback engine. no luck
No other forum has helped.
i have a 21.5 inch Imac, with an intel i5 processor.
8 gig of RAM. a 500gb HD
and an AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB
i am running OS X 10.8.2

it was a video i was working on. i didnt export it to speedgrade though, i used dynamic link (send to speedgrade command) and sent the entire timeline to speedgrade.
i quite premiere because i didnt need it any more (at that point because i was using speed grade) then i exported out of speedgrade the graded clip and brought that into premiere. and now premiere wont play anything.
UPDATE: however when i scrub, it plays through the video but i dont hear audio (even though the setting for that is turned on).
and when i press the space bar (or the play/stop button) over and over after i scrubbed a little bit, it will jump back and forth, so obviously not a hard drive permission/read error.
and lastly, when i try to change the amount of zoom it has in the viewer (fit, 10$, 100%, 50% etc.) it crops the image and then the applications becomes unresponsive.

i've been using Premiere Pro for about a year and a half with no trouble, no crashes that i can remember.   I updated to 5.0.4 when it came out and experienced no problems.
I have not made any changes to my system (drivers, programs, etc.) since the last time i worked with Premiere Pro with no trouble. The only difference is that i generated approx. 52GB of new video files (mov. uncompressed 32bit 640x480 resolution) that i was beginning to edit in to a music video.
My current problem is:: there is absolutely no playback of video in 5.0.4.   not in the tiny project window preview, not in the source preview, and not in the timeline/canvas window.   when i push PLAY, the button turns into a square STOP button, but nothing happens.   this is independent of project or file type. The project i was working on when playback stopped is using uncompressed 640x480 32bit Quicktime files and one 44khz/16bit .AIFF file.   as a quick doublecheck, I just added a 640x480 Apple Intermediate Codec file and it also will not play back.   I opened older projects and none of them will playback.
My problem started while i was working on a project. I was working on the project for probably an hour and a half with no trouble. Then it seemed to get a bit sluggish and i could hear the HD churning a little more.   After rendering out a short section (just under 10 seconds), PPro did not play back the just rendered (now greenline) section. Immediate playback of rendered material was the default behavior, and this was the first time ever that the just rendered section did not play back.   I then discovered that no video would play back at all--in any of the windows.   I can scrub through all the video without any trouble--all the frames are there.
I shut down PPro, & restarted. No change.   I restarted my computer. No change.
Realizing that the problem was likely related to a lack of space on my data drive, i deleted approx. 500GB of files off my 2 TB drive, leaving just under a 1/3 of it free. i checked the drive for errors, and defragmented it. Premiere Pro still wouldn't play any file from any project.
The files are fine, they will playback anywhere else (several different file types involved in different projects). The files are compatible with Premiere Pro (uncompressed VGA resolution Quicktime .mov), i was editing on the timeline with them for hours before all video playback stopped.   All other Adobe programs (After Effects, Photoshop work fine).
I tried to find an answer/solution on these forums, unsuccessfully.   After uninstalling PPro and reinstall (did not help), and entire Suite uninstall, Adobe Clean, and reinstall, neither version 5.0.0 or 5.0.4 will play video --the no playback problem has persisted.
I was running out of HD space --i had less room than i thought -- down to about 7% of free space, a bone-headed move on my part. I'm not surprised that playback performance got compromised due to lack of space.   But i'm shocked that the problem is persisting.   Fortunately, i had just backed up my entire system the day before. (i've backed up many times before and this never affected PPro performance)
i tried to "CLEAN" the media cache for the sequence but it had no effect (in searching the forums, i saw somebody else have their 'crashing Premiere Pro' problem solved by hitting this button). I just took a look in the user/application support/adobe/common/5.0 to look at the "Media Cache" folder and the "Media Cache Files" folder.   Neither of them are empty, even after hitting the CLEAN cache button in the main preferences 'Media' settings window.   I don't know if this is the correct behavior or not.   (i'd expect a "clean" command to empty the folder, but i'm not the programmer)
This does not appear to be the ATI/5.0 problem that so many Mac users suffered (i was lucky to never have that problem).    Again, i've never had any problems with Premiere Pro over the last year and a half, until working on this latest project with the Hard Drive very low on space.   I'm 99.9% positive that's at the heart of the issue.
I don't understand why a clean reinstall did not help in this regard. The problem is clearly PPro specific.   I found one topic in the forum where someone else experienced this same "no video playback" problem, but there was never follow-up from the user saying whether or not his problem was solved (or what was done to correct the problem).
I'd love to get some help--- seems to be a very rare issue, but right now, i can do no video editing. btw, i started a new project as well and imported a .mov file -- same problem, no video playback.
the weird thing is that i can actually still edit video. i just rearranged my timeline assets and rendered out a minute-long quicktime (Apple Intermediate Codec) .mov and it looks and plays as it should.    This is really weird. I'm baffled -- there must be some way to fix this.   I don't want to have to go back to Final Cut, certainly not when i've already paid for Create Suite 5 Production Premium and EVERYTHING works except for video playback in PrPro.

hello.   hey, thanks very much for writing back. i got some good info with a search or two. (info about what regedit is and what corresponds to it in OS X -- regedit allows you to edit "preference" keys for individual programs, OSX's equivalent for these keys are the .plists in User & System: Preferences and Application Support)
what i ended up doing was uninstalling Premiere Pro (not the suite, just PPro).   Then i deleted a few preference files:
from User /Preferences/Adobe:
com.adobe.AdobePremierePro.plist
com.Adobe.Premiere Pro.5.0.plist
and from System Preferences:
the file: Adobe Premiere Pro Prefs
and..
/.../Premiere Pro/5.0/...
AMEPrefs.xml     (i noticed that there's also a preference file in Media Encoder's own folder so i didn't sweat this one)

PostEncodeCmds.pref
PresetCache.xml

NOTE:
of course i don't know if deleting any files beyond the 2 .plist files in User Prefs was necessary, but... it seems to have worked.
I then reinstalled Premiere Pro CS5, and fired up an old project and i've got playback of HD and DV files, and snappy editing and rendering, so hopefully i'm good to go.   I'm just going to stick with v5.0.0 because i actually don't remember ever having any trouble with it, and i don't remember v5.0.4 adding anything i was 'missing' or 'needed'
hopefully, this thread will be useful for any future folks that run into trouble - and it's got a solution for both Windows and OS X

Please help - Ipod freezes when playing any video

I only got my ipod video a day ago and it wont play any video files. Everytime i go to play a video it freezes and just shows a black screen. I have tried downloading a music video from the itunes store and this wont work either. When i first got it i did play one video, im not sure if this was before i updated the firmware though?
I cannot figure out how to reset the firmware if this is what i need to do?
I would really appreciate some advice.

I just got my iPod like two months ago and it wouldn't play any video podcast until I downloaded the new iTunes software. Now it plays some video podcasts but not all. I tried to watch some new podcasts I had downloaded from iTunes and it would play some of it then just freeze and make these wierd sounds. I tried again and it totally froze where I couldn't do anything, not even turn it off. It stayed that way until the battery was completely drained then it turned itself off later that night. The next morning I charged it up and it worked fine but I still can't watch those podcasts. Please help, cause this thing is pretty much brand new and for the amount of money I spent on it I don't want it to start giving me problems after only two months.

When playing any videos(E.g youtube) at mozilla firefox there will be a buzzer sound like "zzz"or cracking the sound is not smooth which seems like lag issue.

I watch YouTube videos on a regular basis - mostly with the YouTube app but also with Safari.
Some YouTube videos are supported to be viewed on a computer only or with a Flash capable device, which is becoming few and far between since Adobe no longer supports Flash on any mobile platform.

it sounds like a tagging problem, but I'm not sure how to help.... what kind of files are they? Typically, if they are organized properly in WMP, they should organize well in the Zen... go to WMP and try the advanced tag editor.

N86 Not playing any videos,N97 restarts frequently...

My friend's N86 is not playing any videos,even those recored by the phone . Think it's a bug. Also he's not able to update the firmware.
Now it plays the videos with the hard resetting.
Is there any other solution to this problem ?

A N97 after updating to latest version(updated yesterday) started restarting frequently.The phone started to hang too. What might be the problem ?

it is the 802.11n AEBS
and it does seem to lose network connectivity only when the LinkStation is connected to the AEBS via ethernet (even when the LinkStation isn't turned on).
the only time i can seem to get the AEBS to work properly and consistently is if i go entirely with wireless connectivity and the LinkStation is connected directly to the Mini via ethernet. which isn't my ideal setup

What changes did you do & did you restart your computer afterwards?
Have you tried a different browser?
Download the video & then view the Keynote. See if you experience the same issue.
