Phone wont rotate when veiwing photos?

any ideas why when viewing my photos or texting the screen doesn't rotate automatically? i haven't changed any settings or recently even linked the phone up to my pc, any help would be appreciated.

Make sure you don't have the portrait lock on. Double-tap the home button, swipe the icons on the bottom to the right, tap the silver button with the arrow on the far left. This unlocks/locks the screen in portrait orientation.

Also when i take a picture with the phone sideway, the picture stays sideway in my galley instead of showing it straight.
I think this started since i updated to 8.3.1.
Anyone else have this problem? Its pretty annoying since i do alot of photo editing with photo apps.
Pages on internet and movies on youtube wont turn either.

Screen wont rotate when turning phone on its side.

Hello as Apple decide to charge for support i thought i would ask here.
My iphone developed a issue on Sunday, i am unable to use the phone in a landscape style, lets say for safari, ipod, and any app that requires a manual landscape use.
Is this a hardware fault?
any help would be great

Make sure you haven't locked the orientation (double-click the Home button and scroll left to find the icon)
If it's locked you will also see an indicator in the status bar that looks like a padlock with a circular arrow around it

Phone shuts down when deleting photos, please help

WHen I connect my iphone to the computer, I can get the pictures from the camera roll with no problem. If I choose to delete the photos after transfer, or If I manually select the photos, and then press delete, the phone stops responding, shuts down and restarts without deleting the photos. I can delete them one at a time directly from the camera roll on the phone, but that takes a long time and I simply dont think that deleting them all at once should be a problem. Has anyone else had this problem, that can help me fix it? Apple says that they have never heard of this before, but I cant possibly be the only one with this problem

I confirm the issue: this did not happen with Firmware 2.1
iPhone 16G with firmware 2.2.1
Windows XP Pro SP3 - 3.2GHz 2G RAM
Steps to reproduce:
1. Plug iPhone into USB port
2. When the dialog appears accept the use of the Scanning Wizard
3. Elect to pull all of the photos from the phone, and check the
"delete when done" box.
4. Observe that all of the photos are pulled successfully
5. Then the wizard says "deleting pictures 1 of 455"
6. There is a pause - obout 20 seconds
7. The iPhone then reboots with no warning
and the wizard thinks it has finished: reports no errors.
I have seen this issue reported elsewhere on Apple forums, so think
that other people are seeing the issue, too.

I want to eliminate the "comment overlay" when veiwing photos in the cloud?

In IOS7, when I view photos that are stored in a shared file in the cloud, a soft edged overlay appears with "like", "Posted date" and "Add comment". In the horizontal mode, this overlay and soft edge covers up the bottom third of the photo.It really ruins the normal veiwing experience. How can I turn this off?

Is the screen-rotation lock in on? if so, turn it off.
Next try restoring the iPod to factory settings/new iPod. If still problem that indicates a hardware problem.

The "radio" on the BB actually refers to the network connections. Go to Manage Connections and Turn all connections on. Let us know how it goes.

Do you have access to another USB dock connector cable to try to rule out a problem with the cable?
If so and there is no change when connected to the power adaptor, your iPhone has a hardware problem.

Use iPhone as designed. Like any digital camera, download your photos to your computer and delete from the iPhone to create space required for iOS upgrade.

Go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings. This will erase your device. Then you will go through the setup screens again as you did when your device was new, and when given the option, select Restore from iCloud Backup.
Let us know if this method does not work.

updated my iphone 3gs to the 5 ios and now my phone wont read my sim card when i reactivate it.
Every time i connect it to itunes all it says is "There is no SIM card installed in the iphone you are attempting to activate." Even thought there is a sim card connected in my phone.

Is the SIM from a supported carrier?
Is the device carrier locked, officially unlocked, or hacked to be unlocked?
Has the SIM been reseated? If not, try that.
Also, basic troubleshooting is reset, restart, restore. Has any of that been tried?
