Phones and videos not in Camera Roll
Hi Everyone...
For some reason, when I take photos or videos, they aren't stored in my Camera Roll anywhere. I can take photos, and it makes the snap sound, but when I go to my camera roll, they aren't there. What I find wierd is, the last photo I take, becomes the folder image on the Camera Roll folder... Whats going on? Please help...
Im on FW 3.0.1, using iPhone 3GS.

i have only had my iPhone for just over a year. things like this shouldnt be happening
ive been told the only solution is to upgrade only i am unable to afford it.

No. Your iCloud account only includes your the camera roll photos stored in the backup. And they can only be accessed by restoring the backup to your phone. Also, if you delete any photos from your camera roll and continue to back up, the backup that contained the deleted photos would be overwritten by one that doesn't and they would be lost.
If you want to save some of them and delete them from your phone, import them to your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.
Another option is to import all of them to your computer and delete them from your phone, then put the ones you want on your phone in a folder and sync them back to your phone by selecting the folder on the photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing. The advantage of this approach is that synced photos are placed in an album called Photo Library, which is not included in the iCloud backup (since they are already backed up on your computer), thereby saving space in your iCloud account (which only backs up camera roll photos). -
My friend's iPod touch 5th gen is locked somehow for 41 years and she does not have a backup. Is there a way to unlock the iPod without restoring it or loosing the pictures and videos from the camera roll, the applications can be redownloaded and she had no music. Is there any known bug about ipods locking on their own because no one seemed to have tried to bypass the 4 digit code and it is locked for 26 million minutes.So thank you if anyone has any information or help for us.
Your friend may have placed the ipod next to an object that repeatedly pressed the screen. Under certain circumstances this can lead to what appears to the iTouch to be failed attempts to access the system. After repeated failed attempts, the Touch increases the waiting time required for the password and may ultimately lock in the way you describe.

Why does Apple keep saying this when they know that videos from the camera roll cannot be uploaded to the cloud??
Oh okay, now I get it. I'm just getting used to this whole cloud thing and I thought they were the same thing. But one is back-up to keep it safe and one is to send the photo stream to the cloud and to share.

Sync photo's and videos from iPhone 'Camera Roll' - onto PC.
When I sync my new iPhone with my Win7 PC, I do not see all the photo's and videos I have taken with my iPhone - on my PC, when I click on the 'Photos' tab.
(They still reside in 'Photo Album/Camera Roll' on my phone)

hi there, I have an IPhone 5 32gig filled with pics and vids I cannot get off my phone and onto my laptop running Windows 7. Ifunbox hasnt recognized the camera roll. Went into a Apple store last night to talk to a genius and all he said was he hadn't touched a PC in twenty years and that no one there could answer my questions. Yeah, I was furious.
The camera roll should be seen just like any other digital camera when connected to your computer. Anything else had to come from your computer to begin with and can not be transferred without purchasing 3rd party software or individually saving them to the camera roll, emailing them, or otherwise finding another way to transfer them.
You do have iTunes installed on the computer, right? The drivers required are included in the iTunes install package. -

So our EVP of sales has a home IMAC and it was failing so he he synchronized his Iphone to grab all his pictures off of Iphoto to his Iphone.
Now he has them all on his iphone but now he wants to put them back on his iphoto on his macbook pro or new IMAC.
any thoughts , i know when i plug his phone into his macbook it only lets me move his pictures form his camera roll and nothing else , if I click the sync feature in itunes it wants to update and hes afraid the iphoto will over write his iphone and he will lose all his pictures.
Thoughts , suggestionsThe sync/transfer process for photos from a computer to an iPhone is a one way transfer process ONLY - from the computer to the iPhone, and photos can be transferred from a single computer only.
Photos transferred from a computer are optimized for viewing on the iPhone as the first step during the iTunes sync/transfer process for this data - the original resolution of these photos is reduced.
Has the home iMac completely failed yet? If no, he needs to use an external drive for transferring these photos - he can copy the iPhoto Library folder and place the folder in the same location on his MBP with iPhoto quit when doing so.
There are 3rd party paid utilities that provide for transferring these photos in the opposite direction but such utilities are not supported by Apple and the original resolution of these photos will be lost. -

i have transferred go pro videos to my iPad however they are not downloading to the computer when i try to import to iPhoto…why wouldn't they show up..? i need these photos on my computer is there any way to get them to the computer…?

Actually, I think that to a certain extent, iiCloud does support video storage - for backup purposes anyway. Maybe I am splitting hairs here or it's simply semantics ... Copied from Apple's iCloud backup and restore overview....

So if the video was in the backup - and you restored the iPad from that backup, then the video would be retrievable .... But only by restoring the iPad from a backup that contains the video. -

that used to back up to my mac. I sold my iphone and lost my pictures in a crash on my imac, so is there a possibility my pictures are still somewhere I can get them. I have another iphone 4 again, but I cant remember my old logon. When it askes my email to send my a reset password it gives my one im using now. When I try the security questions it says my birthday is wrong .......help
Videos aren't included with Photo Stream. Photo Stream is for photos only.
Syncing an iOS device with iTunes does not involve the Camera Roll. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera, and all photos/videos imported should be included with your computer's backup along with all other important data.
Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are included with the backup for the device. Were you backing up your iPhone wirelessly via wi-fi with your iCloud account, or were you backing up your iPhone on your computer via the iTunes sync process?
If included with your iPhone's backup with iCloud, you can transfer the backup to a new iPhone or iOS device. There is no direct access to the iCloud backup for an iOS device. There is direct access to the backup stored on your computer via the iTunes sync process, but the PC is dead. -
After uprading to iOS 5.1 I can no longer play videos in my camera roll. I just get the following error "The requested URL was not found on this server".

I had the same problem with the black blocks after upgrading to iOS4 on my iPhone. The reason for the black blocks is that the thumbnail images for those particular images have not been created when the Photo Library has been updated to iOS4. I followed the advice on a couple of blogs and fixed the problem.
1. I downloaded iPhone Explorer free software (http://www.macroplant.com/iphoneexplorer/) so I could view the photo data folders on my phone. I could see that the thumbnail images were missing.
2. I followed a slight variation on the instructions on this blog. (http://blog.mbentley.net/2010/06/iphone-ios-4-upgrade-restore-lost-pictures-in-c amera-roll/)
3. First I copied the Photo Data folder by dragging it from the iPhone Explorer window to my Mac desktop.
4. Through iPhone Explorer I deleted the info.plist file in the Media/PhotoData/MISC folder.
5. I also deleted the Photos.sqlite and PhotosAux.sqlite files in Media/PhotoData.
6. I then rebooted the phone and launched the Photo Library.
7. The Library rebuilt it's self again and recreated the thumbnails.
8. The problem was fixed!!! Thank you M Bentley!

Took photo with iphone 4s. Picture displays in picture preview on bottom left, but is not in camera roll. Pic should be in phone somewhere since it's in preview. Any advice?

Open multitasking by double tapping the home button (at the bottom), a row of apps you've recently used should appear, tap and hold the photos app until it wiggles and displays an x, tap the x to close and then reopen the camera roll app. Let me know if it works. It's odd and frustrating, I know. -
