  • Phone cutting off during calls

Hi, I hope someone can help, for the last 2 months my phone has occasionally cut off during calls, for seamingly no reason, full signal full battery. For the last 2 weeks it has cut off on every call. Does anyone know how to fix this please its driving me crazy. x

It's most likely something you should talk to your wireless service provider about. If it's not a network problem they may be able to swap sim cards for you, and if that doesn't help, possibly exchange the device.

  • Phone cutting off during call

My Curve cuts off during a call and the battery is drained even if I had a near full battery.  If I plug it up to a charger it turns back on automatically if not I have to remove the battery and put it back in.  Has anyone heard of this problem before?

  • Phone Cuts Off During Calls and Jumps to Facetime & Speaker Phone

My Mom's IPhone 4, during phone calls, constantly cuts off (doesn't register as dropped calls though,) jumps into facetime and jumps into speaker phone for no known reason.  She has taken it to the Apple Store Support Team three times.  The first time she was not treated nicely and was told nothing was wrong, the second time I went with her and they wiped her phone clean and started from scratch and the third time she bought a brand new phone.  None of these options have worked and the problem persists.  This is her fourth IPhone over three years of no major issues until now, so I don't see why this would just start happening for her in the last year.  Are there similar issues like this in the community and does anyone have an idea how to solve it?

I'm sorry for misunderstanding you, but you said she went to the Apple store and the third time she bought a new phone. Did the new phone work then? Is the issue still persisting on the old device? That's where I'm confused. Did she get the device replaced or just buy a new phone and the problem is still happening on the old device.

  • Another problem - phone cuts off incoming calls

Has anyone else had issues since upgrading to iOS4 or at any other time with incoming calls being cut off just a second or so after the phone starts ringing? I've had this happen twice to me today although I've never had the problem before. I know there've been issues with 3GS handsets cutting off calls since the upgrade but I've not seen it mentioned with regards to the 3G. Anyone else experienced this at all?

  • 5530 XM - Phone SWITCHES OFF during calls

    Hey all,
Got a couple of problems with my 5530 XM so any advice/suggestions, please let me know!
    1) Phone SWITCHES OFF when I: press the green button to receive the call/ make a call
-I noticed that it switches off when I place it near my ear, and not really when I use the speakerphone (are the sensors the problem?)
    2) When I minimize my music player (when playing music) there used to be a controller (to choose play, next etc.) on the background of my home screen. ITS NOT THERE ANYMORE!
Would greatlly appreciate anyone's expertise on these (I think common) issues.
    Cheers!

  • Phone switches off during calls

Hey any one know why my 3gs cuts calls off and goes to the apple symbol and the comes back on. There seems to be no set call time that this happens at, some times 3 mins sometimes 10. This seems to have started happening since i updated to ios4.
    cheers

Rebooting during phone calls is a BIG issue within the 3GS environment, with mixed degrees of success and failure when trying own/home fixes or getting Apple on the case. At the time of writing Apple have yet to formally acknowledge there's an issue, regardless of the feedback, this forum, and the number of people that have called them up or seen their engineers.

  • My iphone 5s won't restore after my phone cut off during an automatic download of ios 8.

A call dropped while talking on the phone. From that point on I was unable to use the phone, internet, voicemail, etc.  All other functions and programs were still working, email (through airwatch), texting, calendar, contacts, etc.  At the time ios 8 was downloading.  After download, through my computer ( without the computer it was giving me a download time of 16 hours) completed I was unable to install the the update and still lacked phone capability.  I restarted and still nothing.  I backed up the phone to I tunes, at which point ios 8 was then installed to itunes on my computer and have since been unable to restore the iphone.
My phone just finished trying to restore again.  It ran through all of the motions of veryfing with apple, restoring the phone, verifying the restore, extracting files, and then quit on the final firmware phase with an error message that reads: The iphone "iphone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (3).  The first time it failed it recognized the phone name but now shows up with "iphone" as the name and does not even list the serial number.
    Any suggestions? Thank You.

Is your old backup still listed in iTunes/Preferences/Devices?

You might have to deactivate Find my iPhone in iCloud before you can restore it.

  • Why do i constantly get cut off on calls.  I've had this problem with my 3GS, my 4S and now my iPhone 5.  When the core functionality is Phone, i.e. the ability to talk, why can't Apple make the iPhone function as a Phone?  is there an App for that !!

Well, since you've had the same problem, with three different phones, that all use different size sim cards, it seems pretty obvious the problem is with your carrier/coverage & nothing to do with your phone or sim card.

  • When I get a call on Viber swiping the screen cuts off the call

Everytime I get a call on Viber I need to swipe the screen and enter my PIN to answer the call.
When I swipe the screen it imediatly cuts off the call.
Does anyone else have this problem?

    Hi,
I'm an official representative from Viber. I'm here to help
    Are you using iOS7?
If so, there is a way to swipe Viber's notification (specifically, and not the general phone lock), which leads you directly to your incoming call.
Otherwise, try opening Viber after you swipe open your phone, and see if the call is taking place.
Note that in general, iPhone's behavior is so that 3rd-party applications cannot override the iphone's lock and PIN (unlike regular cellular calls).
    Does the problem persist?

  • Phone cutting off

    Hi,
    new first time user.
Problem with my phone cutting off after a period of time from 5 - 7 minutes upwards.
Thought it may be a filter issue so added filters to 3 empty extension sockets and this seemed to resolve it temporarily.
It1s returned but less frequently and main complainant is my wife who likes lengthy calls to friendsand family!!
My system has a main socket with corded phone and extension to my office which has a single socket with double splitter for telephone and computer lead.
The telephone is a cordless hub with another phone connected wirelessly
3 empty extension sockets in othere parts of the house but all have filters fitted.
Internal wiring is aged, a bit like myself but never caused problems prior to switcing from AOL to BT.
I`m also experiencing some computer interference sporadically as if there is a conflict of signal somewhere.
Any iseas that I can try before calling in an engineer with ensuing costs.

This sounds like a problem with the wiring although with no master test socket it is difficult to determine where the fault is as your are unable to eliminate your internal wiring. Because of the age of your master socket and internal wiring Openreach will probably raise a charge or a visit - at engineer discretion! However whether this is passed onto you from your communications provider is up to them. If you phone your CP they will be able to test your liine for you, their results if it picks a fault up should give them a measurement as to where the fault is and whether an engineer visit is needed, IE internal or external problem. Eveeryone has their own 2 wires back to the exchange so your fault is unlikely to be affecting anyone else. However there are so many joints to the wires in the external network any of these can go faulty especially after heavy rain, wnid etc.

  • Why does my phone cut off while surfing web

phone cuts off while talking on phone, surfing etc

Failed calls generally happen when the iPhone is in an area with poor reception. It's loosing connection to the cellular network.
You can try Apple's basic troubshooting suggestions -> http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/calls/
If it does the vibrate till resetting thing again, restore the iPhone.
    WTH.

  • E71x shuts off during calls

E71x in perfect shape shuts fully off during calls only, never any other time. In the middle of a call, not when hitting a button or anything. I had originally installed "xplore" and deleted some native ATT games, installed skfire and google maps. Since then I did the hard reset which seemed to re-install everything, "monopoly" and the other origional native ATT games etc. With the hard reset done, the "xplore", skyfire and google maps where gone and I haven't reinstalled them. Anyone with similar problem or ideas where to look? I got it from Amazon.com  (brand new, not refurb or anything).

On the AT&T help forum the best I could get is that it is a software glitch that showed up maybe on an install of something or they say more likely when I used "xplore" to remove some of the ATT apps (it thinks you are actually trying to shut the phone down...so it does) . Remember mine is the E71x which is ATT branded with all kinds of junk software for ATT. But I did do a *#7370# reset and it brought all the original software back and Google maps was gone, but that didn't help at all. Anyway they thought it should be under a warranty since mine is only 30 days old so I'm gonna try at the ATT store today. Good luck with yours and at least I know someone else is having the same problem. In all the reading I've done it does not seem common so I hope a new phone won't do it too. It is funny how I can text and wi-fi play music and it never hiccups, but as soon as the call is connected it's now powering down every time in about 5 seconds. Google maps......hmmmm.
