ATT should be okay, but not Verizon.  Look at the right panel, under "More like this", other users have asked similar questions.

It's not going to happen. Even a cursory reading of the forums would have revealed this fact.
Apple can NOT help you. AT&T WILL NOT help you.
Leave your iPhone at home or in airplane mode while you're in India and buy yourself a cheap disposable phone to use while you're in India. I believe AT&T still has a program where they will put your account "on hold" while you are gone for a small fee.

  • How much is early termination fee for basic phone, my contract is done 1/18/15?

How much is early termination fee for basic phone, my contract is done 1/18/15?

There is a $10 discount available for basic phones to knock that cost down. You can visit your local store, add the discount online, or call customer care @ 800-922-0204. Hope this helps.

  • Buying New Phone but Contract  can't yet what are my options???

Okay I dropped my phone in some water and had to find a replacement it is a razor but being it was given to me there are issues with it... The phone changes settings on its own and I can't access VM called Verizon and they can't help with changing it and the one that is in the phone is unknown. Talke with Verizon and then Tech Support and they did nothing and said they have no way to know what it is did a master reset and so on.
So here is my question being the contract the phone is under does not allow new phones till December and I can't extend the contract being it is a business phone what are my options? From what I learned buying just a phone from Verizon is a costly one, and if you buy one from an online source the two I got where prepay only and not able to be used on an existing contract.
If I take my replacement used phone to a Verizon Store can they get the Pin number out of? I know they are there to sell you a new phone and want you to extend your contract . The cost of a "NEW" Phone is in the hundereds of dollars when you get it for next to nothing when you sign a contract.
Is there any good place I can get a "New Phone and reactivate it as a replacement and know what the pins are being the one I have now though used Verizon can't not hop[ena dn since it turns off the ringer now and then I miss calls and get vms I can get.
Any suggestions or just go and buy a new phone whatever the best cost is and be done with this???
ANy information on what I can do seems that Verzion can only help so far via the phone and going to a store from what I have experienced and heard is requiring an contract extension and then you get a new phone for a better price. Which again I can not do.
Just looking for some good information on wat the options are???

Thanks, Looks like I am stuck with the current phone even though no one at Verizon can assist me in getting the pin for the vm feature. As for ebay I contacted 2 sellers that stated their phones were good to be used on Contract the first one I got I called attempted to activate it and they told me it could only be used as a "PrePaid" Phone. I had to return it and the seller want me to end the transaction as if his listing was valid even though it stated could be used on a existing contract. Being he was also in Michigan I got it within a few days but then had to return it. Seems many list their phones like this but when you contact them and ask they kind of side step it and the auction ends. This seller had good feedback maybe because some don't leave any because of the same issue. I looked at whast the phones are listed at an 300 + unless you sign an additional  2 years which I can't do being it is a company phone and paying twice is also not worth it using it as a prepaid phone for 6 months...
Looks like they got you anyway so I will just have to continue getting vms and no access and hope the phone lasts until they can get new ones...
Sad fact is there should be a better way to get a replacement phone. Since I don't know any Verizon Dealers when I had another carrier the guy was great he would do anything including rebuild a doa phone with parts he collected as people upgrade but at Verizon they just want you to "upgrade" and "extend" the contract Which I am not the admin person to make that decision
Guess you have to know someone and I don't...
Such is life these days...At least for me....

  • Updating smart phone/new contract

Just to for begin, I'm not exactly up to date on new phones (my wife and I's current phone is the blackberry curve which we've had for three years been with Verizon for 8) I saw a deal for the new Galaxy S3 FOR 149.99 each on a different website and got incredibly curious about updating and extending my contract. Right now I have the unlimited data plan. Would I have to change my plan with the new phones? And, if so is the 4 gig plan okay for use/ I checked our usage now and it looks to be about a gig a month between the two us but with new phones being able to do much more I'm worried about usage.

You'll just have to decide for yourself what's most important.  The rumor mill says that all unlimited data will end the end of June 2014 when everyone that's currenly on that plan is then month-to-month (i.e., off contract), but who knows?
If you kept your current calling plan and just added a tiered data plan in place of your unlimited plan, then each line's cost would be $30 for 2 GB, $50 for 5 GB, and $80 for 10 GB.  If you switched your entire account to a Share Everything plan, you'd have unlimited minutes and texts, and both lines would share a pool of data, plus you'd have unlimited hotspot (although it also takes GBs out of your data pool).  On that plan, you'd be charged $40 per phone, so $80, plus whatever data package you chose (1 GB = $50, 2 GB = $60, 4 GB = $70, 6 GB = $80, 8 GB = $90, 10 GB = $100).
If you want to keep your unlimited data, you'll want to purchase a phone(s) from somewhere like ebay or a private party (just ensure that the ESN/MEID is clean and that the phone is Verizon branded).  Again, if you sign a new two-year contract either through Verizon or a third party like Best Buy, you will lose your unlimited data.  And if you aren't aware, this spring Verizon also implemented a $30 upgrade fee; that fee isn't required if you purchase your phone off ebay or from a private party.

  • How long does it take for Orange to transfer my phone number contract to payg

I have been with Orange on contract since 2000, and decided to leave.I let Orange know in advance of my contract expiry on 22/6/15.They said I could not have a payg sim so far in advance.I rang two weeks before the contract expiry and they said they would send me a payg sim. They sent it to an address which I have never lived at, and which has never appeared on my bill.I went on holiday. When I came back the new sim had not arrived so I phoned Orange. They said we have sent it to an address in Bedfordshire which you have never lived at. Never mind we’ll send you another payg sim to your home.By now we are nearly a month after my contract expired.I have received the payg sim and the mobile number attached, I managed to get the temp number topped up and requested they transfer my number on Weds 22/7/15.By today Monday I have lost five days of business and my old number has not been transferred. I rang them twice on 23rd July, and again twice on 24th often to find out that they charge me 25p to get a message saying they are not open, so that’s £1 so far. And again with 20 minutes holding listening to music at lunchtime totals £1.25.Over the weekend make that £11 (had to top up).The phone number &*()_  i want to keep is now dead and has stopped taking voicemails.I need this number as it is on all my business cards and website. When you do finally get the number working on payg, I will then get Orange to supply a pac code and move to a different provider. One of the many departments I spoke to yesterday on your 25p line said I should give you a month to get out of the contract. I said I am on payg and I will go when I like! This abysmal level of service for 15 years is why I am leaving orange. The people on the 25p line also have a very poor understanding of English and are more interested in parroting that EE is a great service provider with a good network or some such nonsense.I hope they get my number working so that I can get off Orange network. at the time of writing 5 days and counting so far to transfer a number. At various stages the customer service line have said that I have never been with orange, (after 15 years of once a month bills), they have laughed and said no managers are here at weekends and put the phone down on me. They have given me a manager to speak to, who has given me an incorrect pac code to go to another network. The manager has not been contactable since. And every time I ring they say you must give it another 24 hours or 48 hours

    Hi ,
I'm very sorry to hear of the problems you have had moving to pay as you go.
Please can you give customer service a call and ask to speak to the pay monthly retentions team who will be able to fix this issue for you.

  • Phone under contract

I recently purchased a iphone 4 off ebay. It was listed as new, however after the purchase I noticed the seller noted "This phone is new but under contract". When I contacted him, he told me that the phone has been activated; I haven't received it yet. I want to use the phone on page plus. Should I expect issues when I go to register the phone? Thanks,

Never but never buy an already "active" phone from any where unless it is purchased at the wireless company with you standing there. Get your money back now, have ebay suspend the account of the seller and take a common sense class to learn how not to get taken.

  • I'm a Canadian customer, can I use my Fido Dollars to purchase a new phone off contract at Bestbuy?

My 2 year contract is coming to an end, but I love the price I pay and don't want to change plans but do want to upgrade my device. I have the 3 year PEP on my device right now, and want to transfer it over to my new device. I have accumulated Fido Dollars over the years and want to use it towards my new phone. Also, want to price match with what Amazon has to offer.

    Hello StevenXayavong-
We appreciate your interest in purchase a new phone with Best Buy.  Regrettably, this forum can only assist with questions for our US stores and BestBuy.com US.
I would recommend that you reach out to our Canadian website here or through their forums here for more assistance with your question.

  • Keep my phone when contract ends want to know how sim cards are

WHEN MY CONTRACT END IN NOVEMBER want to keep my phone but want to know how much sim cards are

    Hi,
Your phone belongs to you so when your minimum term ends you will revert to monthly contract if you are on contract now.
    Thanks,

  • Upgrade from basic to smart phone before contract finishes.  What are my options?

    Hi everyone,
I'm working on upgrading from a basic phone to a smartphone.  My current phone is one line in a shared plan (1 iphone and 3 basic phones).
My current contract isn't up until September 2014, but it's become necessary that I get a smartphone this winter.  Obviously, that's not going to happen without some fees, but I'm trying to figure out what my options are.  This is what I think I have, but are there ones I'm not considering?
    1. Buy a phone through verizon without the subsidy.  I assume this resets my 2 year contract.  But there's no early termination fee, right?
    2. Buy a verizon-ready used phone from a friend and apply it to my account.  I believe that this doesn't incur an ETF either, right?
    3. Add a new line with a smartphone (with subsidy).  Transfer my number to that phone, and then pay to terminate the basic phone line (which would be $175-5/month, so $105, right?).
    4. Pay to terminate this line ($105), and move to another carrier, but my number wouldn't transfer.
Any recommendations within these options, or things I haven't mentioned?
    Thanks!

    1. If you buy a phone without subsidy, there is no contract. And no ETF -- you'd simply put the new phone on the line and the contract end date is the same.
    2. Correct. You can activate a phone you bought elsewhere anytime. It won't change your contract. You will simply have to add the data plan.
    3. The contract is tied to the phone number. So if you add a line for a smartphone, that number/line would incur the $350 smartphone ETF. But you can transfer the new smartphone to your current line, then put your basic phone on that line -- it will either cost you $10/month if you're on a Nationwide plan or $30/month if on Share Everything.
    4. You can port your number to the new carrier and pay the ETF, which seems it'll be about $105. Every carrier has to allow porting nowadays. Just know if you're not happy with the new carrier and want to switch back to Verizon within the first few months (either 60 or 90 days, I can't recall), you'll be put right back on the contract you were on.
I can't think of any other options. When I feel like switching and I'm under contract, I typically choose No. 2 in your above scenario.

  • Transfer pre-paid phone to contract account early?

    Hi all,
I currently have an Alltell Samsung SCH-R430 (MyShot) assigned to my contract account. The phone is physically breaking where you flip it open and occasionally glitches when I'm text messaging, so I can't see what I'm typing unless I start a new message. Well, I found a used Verizon pre-paid phone on Listia and got it to use on my contract, but the phone apparently hasn't been used for six months consecutively yet, which I learned is what it has to be used for to be put onto a contract. The phone I want to activate is a Samsung SCH-U350 (Smooth). Is there any way I can activate it without having it on prepaid for six months? Thanks for any help you can give.

Thanks for the response. I ended up being able to buy a used LG Tritan from a friend for $20 to put on there, so it's all good now.

  • Prepaid phone for contract use

I've seen this mentioned elsewhere, and was wondering if anyone else can confirm this.
I've had a smart phone for Verizon for a few months and have enjoyed it, but due to unforeseen circumstances, the $29.99 unlimited data plan isn't really necessary for my long-term budget needs. I've heard of users going to Best Buy to purchase a prepaid phone (like that Samsung flip one BB offers) and registering that phone at BB/Verizon for their contract line.
Can anyone confirm/deny the legitimacy of such an act? Seems alright to me. I just don't want to go ahead with the process myself if I'm going to waste $40 on a second phone if I can't do it myself.

    Hello!  Welcome to the Forums!
Nokia is mostly correct in stating that Verizon will not normally allow their own No Contract or Prepaid phones to be activated onto a contract plan, but there is an exception to this.
Per Verizon, if the prepaid phone that is going to be activated to the contract account has been used as a prepaid phone on a prepaid plan for at least 6 months prior to being used on the contract plan, then it can be done. Before that point, Verizon's systems will not allow the prepaid ESN number to be activated on the contract plan.
Hope this helps clarify some information.
    Regards,
    Miranda
Don't take what I say as being absolute. There's always room for improvement.

  • Replacing a feature phone when contract has ended

If I buy a couple of 'back up' feature phones like Verizon Lg Vx8575 Chocolate, not to add a line or change my service, is it an easy thing to do?
The reviews on the two feature phones offered on Verizon don't seem to have very good reviews, and I don't care about having a smart phone.  I certainly don't want a data plan.  I fear that Verizon will stop offering stupid phones very soon, and want to know if I can just continue on in my benighted phone world using the same number.  The vendor says the LG chocolate is new and is guaranteed on Amazon.
Any thoughts?  Or recommendations for a different easy to read/handle phones that are not uhm...Jitterbug?   I'm using an Octane now, and am getting sick of it.  Turns itself off all the time.  Poor reception.  Dropped calls.

Hey there BessieLil! I'm glad to see you're considering getting a back up device. Activating a Basic function device is actually very easy. If you're within the VZW service area, you need only turn off your current phone, turn on the replacement, call *228, and then select option1. The automated system will walk you through the steps from there.
I can't say that the LG VX8575 (AKA the Chocolate Touch) that you're looking at may be in new condition (perhaps never owned by another customer), but not new to the market (the model was introduced November 2009). My stepson has one and he's very fond of it (though he's eager to get a smartphone). If you have other questions about that or any other device, we have some support videos you can view at this link: http://bit.ly/y5iuoj. You're also welcome to return here. Take care!

  • Can I buy out my contract to transfer phone number to company account?

    Hello,
Currently I have a droid phone under contract with Verizon, and I am eligible for an upgrade in June, 2015, but can buy out of the contract for $180.  I also am going to get a company phone for my job, but it is required that this be the iphone 6 and it can be either with Verizon or AT&T service.  Ideally I would like to just transfer my number to my company account and use the iphone full time, but unfortunately it's not that simple.
Here are the options I've been informed I have:
    1) Have the company take over my account for no cost, but the company would have to pay $649 for a new iphone since I'm not eligible for an upgrade, and I'm not sure I can get this added cost approved.
    2) Get a separate company phone number and iphone that the company will buy for me (I think it will cost them $200).  Not ideal because I would either lose my phone number or I would have to keep paying for my phone and carry 2 phones around.
Here's the option I want, but nobody can confirm it is possible:
    3) I buy out my old contract for $180, then transfer the phone number to my company phone where I would get a new contract and a new iphone.  I'd be fine paying the $180 out of my pocket since I'd make that up in savings in 3 months.  I was on hold with customer service while 2 service people were debating whether or not this was possible, but after 15 minutes of dead air I had to leave to attend a work meeting, so I don't know if it's possible.
Here's the option I don't want to but may be forced to do:
    4) Start a new contract with AT&T through my company and have my number ported over.  I would then pay the $180 to Verizon to get me out of my obligation.
In case anyone has actually taken the time to read all this, here are my questions:
    - Is Option #3 actually possible?  Has anyone done it?
    - Is Option #4 possible?  If it is possible, wouldn't Verizon just prefer I do option #3.
    - Are there any other options I'm not considering?
Thanks for any input you can give

    Hello Kinquana,
Yes, I'm available for Early Edge upgrade, but from what I can tell it doesn't really offer my company any savings versus them just buying the iphone up front at full price, and it probably just creates complications for the IT department.  Either way, it's an additional cost that I would have to get approved.
So it sounds like my best option is to just move my number to AT&T and cancel my verizon account?  Seems like you would not want that to happen.
I do not have any issues with my current phone, but my company requires that I get an iphone due to compatibility with email and security.
    Thanks for the quick response
