Phot Stream Disabled??

Anyone have any idea why Photo Stream is disabled on my iPhone 4? I have the latest release of iOS 5, and I am connected to WiFi. Photo Stream is enabled on my iCloud account. But in Settings > Photos, Photo Stream is greyed out and set to OFF.

I have:
- iPhone 4, upgraded to iOS 6
- PC, Windows 7
Problem:
Photostream is "not enabled" so my photos are not uploading anymore on my PC. The thing is everything worked like a charm, even with upgrading. But last two days when I click onto my Photostream it gives me a message that "iCloud is not enabled" (which is not true of course, It has been enabled for quite some time now).
Then I open my iCloud which also 'says' that Photostream is - not turned on .. so OK, 'something' turned it off. I click on it to turn it on, I want to click on 'Options' button on the right but nothing is happening. Ok, again. I save changes and exit iCloud. I turn iCloud ON again, and - again Photostream is NOT turned on.
I don't know what's happening, why won't it stay turned on?
It worked flawlessly on iOS 5, as a mather a fact, it worked these one or two days with iOS 6.. then what the **** happend?

I and many others had varying levels of difficulty watching The Live Event. You seem to be just attempting to watch the archive thereof. The two misbehaviors may or may not be related. Your symptoms seem to be kind of random and varied. If other QT movies play OK - trailers, etc. - it could be concluded that the problem is on the Apple end with that particular content. One possibility is that a WHOLE LOT of folks are trying to watch the same stuff at once, causing server-load issues. A brief bit of testing on my part - Safari and Firefox/Mozilla, sorry, no PC - has shown a real sluggishness in both. Wait a while (several days?) to try it again. The LiveBlog archive displays OK - earliest to latest in time. It will give you a feeling for what the Keynote-Keynote presentation visuals were like.

  • HT5824 i dont know what happened but ALL my photos and videos from my computer just uploaded to my iphone and i have no memory left! how do i fix this?i think its the phot stream?

ALL of my photos and videos have uploaded via icloud or photostream on my iphone now i have no memory left. how do i delete all these off my phone?

Photo stream doesn't sync videos unless they are short videos added to a shared stream.  If not, you must have synced them to your phone or took them on the phone itself.
Did you sync them to your phone using iTunes?  If not, are you running a Mac that is signed into your iCloud account and running iPhoto?

To enable iCloud on your Windows PC, first set up iCloud on your other (Apple) devices, then install the iCloud Control Panel for Windows...

  • On Apple TV can I use "sub" or personal phot streams rather than displaying the baseline photo stream?

I would like to control the sequence and content of what ends up as the screen saver for my Apple TV. Can I use other "folders"?
    Thank you.

You can specify a folder on a computer (or iPhoto events etc on a Mac) though you may not get perfect control over display order.
Use iTunes>File>Home Sharing>Choose photos to share etc
iTunes would need to be running on teh LAN to support this.

  • HT201317 Just got a 4S.  We've taken 1,000 photos which are in the camera roll.  Photo Stream has loaded the last half of the 477 pictures.   Not sure what happened to the first 523 pictures.  How do I request that these be uploaded again to Photo Stream?

I have a 4S and have taken 1,000 photos.  For some reason only the last half of them, 477 pictures, loaded to Photo Stream.  I think I turned off Photo Stream in attempting to set up iCloud.  How do I re-load the first set of 523 photos again to Phot Stream?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
It is not very easy at all to add photos to photo stream from your camera roll on your phone, the only way I'm aware that this can be achieved is to take a screenshot of each photo. It would be much simpler to sync your photos to a computer and add them to photo stream from there.
Photostream when enabled will only add photos from the camera roll that were taken post photostream activation.

  • I have iPhoto 11, 9.4.1 installed. When my library was upgraded, I got a message the photos couldn't be imported and I need to repair iPhoto permissions. How do I do that? My photos are there, but I can no longer drag them to the photo stream.

Disable Photo Stream in iPhoto's preferences and then go back and reenable it. See if that will jump start the process.  If that doesn't help try this:  make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto check its preferences to meka sure all is as you expect and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2:  In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

  • Photo stream not working

Have just done a software update on MacBook Pro and I keep getting the message "can't access photo stream". When I go into iPhoto and try to turn photo streaming on it tells me I'm signed in, but won't enable phot stream. Has the update done something and how can I photo stream again?

I appear to be having the same problem.
In fact the first photo I took this morning synced properly. None of the photos I've taken since have synced at all.

  • Shared photo streams on/off switch not visible

Just trying to set up Shared Phot Streams on my iPad and my parents.
Got as far as setting one up on ours, and the email has arrived OK on my parents, with a link to Join this Photo Stream.
When I click on the link, I get a prompt to Join this Photo Stream, and a message saying that Shared Photo Streams needs to be switched on.
But in the settings the option to turn on Shared Photo Streams (that I can see on our iPad) is not there, so I can't turn it on.
As far as I know iCloud is all set up, as I've got Messages and FaceTime all working.
Any help with what I might be missing would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

I had tried switching off and on again without any luck.
But logging out of iCloud and back in again did the trick. Weird.
Parents who live in the middle of nowhere suitably impressed.

  • HT201317 photo stream is not showing on icloud

phot stream is not showing on icloud.com on my pc

Basically Apple actually took away the Gallery capability we used to have with me.com when they replaced it with Photo Stream. So there is no way to see on the web, nor send a URL to friends to share the pictures like you used to be able to do with Gallery. To do that, you will need to push those photos to an external service such as Snapfish or Flickr or a social media site.

  • Access photo stream on new mac

I have all my photos on my iMac and I can pick up my phot streamed pics just fine on my iPad and iPhone. But now I have a new Macbook Air, and I simply cannot figure out how to access any of my photos. I have set up all my folders on my Mac for sharing (right click folders, select Get Info, and selecting appropriate Sharing permissions), but I still cannot seem to access photos or even just my photo streamed photos. Any ideas, anybody?

Go into your iCloud setting on your iPhone. Make your PhotoStream is "on" there as well. The photos won't transfer unless you have it enable led on iCloud.

  • HT4436 photo stream existing pics from iPhone

I can get new photos thru iCloud from my iPhone 5 ... how about existing photos, is there a way to Phot Stream them to my PC...?

To stream them is to add them to a shared stream and invite yourself as a subscriber, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99.
