  • Photo view problem- iphone 4s

My iphone has a problem in viewing photos. I took photos from camera when phone is unlocked (i.e the screen was not locked), then i also took some photos directly from camera when the phone was locked (by double click to home button). I could view all these photos in gallery without any problem.
But then I read that if i reset the phone (choose reset all settings in general of settings) then it can make my battery last longer so i did. After i reset the phone, all photos taken when the phone was locked are gone. I don't know where they are.
But since yesterday, when i tried to take photos in locked status of phone again, and viewed them in gallery, some photos are looked like the ones that were gone. I thought i could retrieve the photos but when i try to send those through emails, the photos attached in the emails are the new photos i have just taken.
can you help me to solve this problem? thank you.

Photos/videos captured by the iPhone are stored in the iPhone's Camera Roll.
Photos/videos in the Camera Roll are not touched with the iTunes sync process.
Photos/videos in the Camera Roll can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera, which is not done with iTunes.

I have 1000 photos on my iPhone in Photo Stream... all have already been added to iPhoto.  If I delete the photos in Photo Stream on my iPhone will I lose them on iPhoto??

Its the first time ive used iphoto, hence the vast number of photos i needed to import. I was importing from my phone to my macbook iphoto, my son caught the usb connection during the time when iphoto was deleting from the phone, after it had apparently imported all of the photos but none of them are on iphoto and only 195 are still on my phone.
The problem is not deleting them but finding them all?
Sorry ive typed this in the wrong place now cant delete it - if anyone can help with my problem however i would appreciate it!

  • Can't get new photos added to existing iPhoto albums to sync with iPhone

I tried talking about this in the iTunes area, but there was no response:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/20660036#20660036
I thought I'd drop by the iPhone discussion area next.
The problem in a nutshell is that I can't get new photos added to iPhoto albums to sync with my iPhone 5. I can even unselect the albums, sync, see the albums deleted on the iPhone, select the albums again, sync, see the albums recreated - but the recreated albums don't include the photos I added yesterday.
I don't know if this is an iTunes 11 bug, an iPhoto bug or an iPhone bug.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    doug

Yes, but which album will be empty?
Anyway, as soon as I saw how creating albums locally on the iPhone actually worked I said to myself, "This is not reasonable" and as much as I dislike iPhoto decided to keep doing it there until that feature is improved.
It seems like an obvious thing to improve. Then the albums can sync between the iPhone, iPhoto and other iOS devices more like "it just works" (which it doesn't do now).

When i try to upload photos from my iphone iphoto freezes after a few have been uploaded, force quit shows that it is still running. I have left it running for days with no change. In addition Places is continually running, would this have an effect?
    Help much appreciated.

The next step is to repair your main library: apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • I upload all of my photos from my iphone 5 onto my macbook air to get more space on my phone, and now whenver i try to upload it says there is no more storage or there was a problem transferring a picture. what can I do to get more space onto my iphoto?

i upload all of my photos from my iphone 5 onto my macbook air to get more space on my phone, and now whenver i try to upload it says there is no more storage or there was a problem transferring a picture. what can I do to get more space onto my iphoto? I've tried putting the pictures on flashdrives, but iphoto would no tlet me transfer.

I don't know how large the SSD (solid state hard drive) is, or how big your iPhone 5 is, but with some iPhones having 64GB and some Airs having as little as 64GB and some having as much as 512GB it's not hard to see how storing the contents of your iPhone 5 on your Macbook Air could run you out of space.
Go to the Macbook Air and bring up a finder window and pull the Go menu down and go to the Computer. Right click on the Macintosh HD and select get info. See if there is any available space on the MacBook Air. If not you are out of SSD space (you're storing more on your Macbook Air than it has storage for). I'm not sure if iTunes can store its library on an external hard drive or quite how you would make that happen. But even if you managed that, when the hard drive was disconnected, you would lose access to your library. Using a smart media card might be possible (I don't know) but it would probably be irritatingly slow. If you have a small Air and a big iPhone you might just have to find a different computer to sync to. Just remember a 64GB iPhone is a big chunk of SSD for a Macbook Air. I did it with my previous and my current Air but even my previous one had 256GB and I really just fit.

  • TS3989 Photos are ok in aperture and iphoto but in photostream on ipad and iphone the top of all portrait photos is chopped off. I tried switching photostream off and on but got the same. Only happened with photos added today, all past photos are fine

I have never had any problems before but all portrait photos added today have the top chopped off. For example , people's heads are missing or roofs or buildings are chopped off. Photos are fine on the camera and on my mac in iphoto and aperture. Switched off photostream on my ipad...all photos were deleted. Switched photostream back on and all photos uploaded again and portrait photos are cropped again

It sounds like while trying to import the photos with insufficient disk space those image files were damaged and not copied fully.  Now that you have sufficient space (a minimum of 10 GB is recommended) the latest imports are good.
What do you get if you export one of the problem photos out of iPhoto as Kind=Original and try to open it with Preview.  If it appears the same then there's nothing you can to do recover them.

  • I have photos on my iphone 4 that i'm trying to transfer to iphoto.  The problem is when I plug the phone in, it only wants to transfer the new photos, not all.  How can I take all the photos off my phone and put them into iphoto?

I have photos on my iphone 4 that i'm trying to transfer to iphoto.  The problem is when I plug the phone in, it only wants to transfer the new photos, not all.  How can I take all the photos off my phone and put them into iphoto? Even if there are duplicates, I'd like to make sure I get all the photos from my phone into iphoto.  Thanks

To see all the photos on the phone, including photos that have already been imported into iPhoto, deselect the "Hide Photos Already Imported" checkbox. If the camera contains photos that have already been imported into iPhoto, those photos are hidden by default.

  • Every time I sync my iPhone with iPhoto I end up getting duplicate photos on my iPhone. The other problem is that I can not delete the dups on my iPhone.   Does anyone have an answer to this problem?

Every time I sync my iPhone with iPhoto I end up getting duplicate photos on my iPhone. The other problem is that I can not delete the dups on my iPhone.   Does anyone have an answer to this problem?

Mike whether I create a folder within the Pictures Folder that iTunes uses to sync photographs or just copy them into the main folder the result is the same, I end up with Photo Library plus another album containing an identical set of pictures as contained in Photo Library.
The User Manual for iOS5 states ...
You can create, rename, and delete albums on iPhone to help you organize your photos and videos.
Create a album: When viewing albums, tap Edit, then tap Add. Select photos to add to the new album, then tap Done. Note: Albums created on iPhone aren’t synced back to your computer.
Rename an album Tap Edit, then select an album.
Rearrange albums Tap Edit, then drag up or down.
Delete an album Tap Edit, then tap the delete sign.
Yes I can Add a new Album, but cannot delete an album already created. The delete sign does not appear.
In iTunes the only folder that I can see listed is the man one into which iTunes stores pictures, which I have named iPhone Photos.
When I look on my PC this iPhone Photos folder contains another folder named iPod Photo Cache and a multitude of folders created by iTunes, the named F00, F01,F02 etc etc. and a Photo Database file.
Now whether I create a seperate folder within iPhone Photos to store my favourite photos in, or just copy them all into the iPhone Photos folder without being encased within another folder, or create a folder inside the iPod Photo Cache folder the result is the same ...
I end up with Photo Library plus another album containing an identical set of pictures as contained in Photo Library.
I am going around in ever decreasing circles here and getting nowhere fast!!

Mine does it to iPhones not using iOS 6 as well. It also sometimes says that text messages haven't been sent though sometimes they have been. So people get them in duplicate

  • IPhone photos syncing problem

In iTunes, I'm getting the error message "iTunes cannot sync photos to the iPhone <my iPhone> because the folder "Pictures" cannot be found." when I connect my iPhone to my computer.
What does this mean, and how do I remedy this?
    Thanks!

Figured it out.  Somehow the extension changed from JPEG to JPG.  Changing it back sloved the problem.

  • Problem: iphone changes photo filename

I have just discovered that if you save a photo to your iPhone, by downloading it from a site or email, it changes the filename.
    This is a problem because:
    A) You need the photo's original filename for reference when liaising with people about the photo, otherwise you don't know which one you are talking about.
    B) I may want to email it from the phone to someone else, which would spread the wrong filename even further.
Why does iPhone do this? And how do I solve this problem, because the filename does not show in Photoshop File Info EXIF either?
It doesn't happen with computers or websites (apart from Facebook and Twitter of course, and that's another problem).
    Thanks,
    Sarah

Hi, I noticed this as well long ago. It isn't a problem for me personally nor do i know how to fix it. But i can suggest a temporary work around.
    1. save the website where you got your photo so you can access it on your computer later for it's original file name/URL.
    2. you can go to google image search and drag this image into the search bar on a computer and it will find it for you, if you need the original url.
    3. you can add a number to the photo using photo editing apps on your phone so you can reference them in an email such as - see photo 1. Theres lots of apps like Over and ImageEditor.
This is more time consuming as many other issues I have with the things that Apple does with their phone. I seem to waste a lot of time going around issues they should have fixed a long time ago.
