Photo after syncing are mixed into album

I've more than 3000 photos on my PC (windows 7) organized in several folder, all at the same level.
After syncing these photos with iTunes (vers. 10.5.3.3) on iPAD (not jailbroken !)
i've found that in some albums photos are not the same in the corrisponding folder on PC.
Photos are mixed between album.
Do I expect a new version of the Apple app? or do I bought a 3rd parties app? do You know some one with better performance?
Why a bug so big in a product so good?
This is not the only a my problem, also a friend of mine with an iPAD 2 has the same problem.
Thansk for answer and/or suggestion.

Try deleting the photo cache from your computer and then re-try the photo sync and see if they then copy over into the correct albums - the location of the cache, and how to delete it, is on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314

OK, here are a set of screenshots with my step by step - maybe you will be able to spot where I've gone awry:
I find a photo in the Library that I will delete from an album:
I go down to my Albums and find the picture in one of them:
I hover over the pic so the little down arrow appears in the bottom right-hand corner. I click on it, then click on the Trash Can in the window that drops down:
    Gone from the Album:
    Gone from the Library:
    In the Trash:
    Whaddup with that?

What is the procedure for verifying that my photos, after syncing up my iPad and my iMac, actually are in iTunes?

iTunes manages your photos between the iPad and iPhoto on the iMac. If you have things set up correctly, then the photos will go to iPhoto for safe keeping and later use.

after sorting my pictures into albums, I deleted them from the camera roll, includings the ones filed in the albums. Would it e possible to get them back ?

A photo in the Camera Roll cannot be in an album unless the photo remains in the Camera Roll. Photos in an album or not duplicated. A photo in an album includes a pointer to the original photo stored in the Camera Roll. The Camera Roll is for temporary storage. Photos/videos can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera.
The Camera Roll is included with your iPhone's backup. If your iPhone's backup has been updated to include all photos that were in the Camera Roll and has not been updated since the photos were deleted, you can try restoring your iPhone from your iPhone's backup. Do not update your iPhone's backup before doing so and decline the prompt to update your iPhone's backup as the first step after selecting Restore.

  • Organization: Figuring out what photos are organized into albums

I can't seem to work out a straightforward way of organizing photos once I import them into Aperture 1.5. I shot 2Gb of shots today and imported them. As I start to create Albums within my Project, I drag them to their appropriate places. But sometimes I'll miss one or get interrupted by a phone call, etc.
Or I'll start out with five albums of different categories, say Front Façade, Interior Lobby, etc. (architectural shots). Then I realize that I've got so many Stair shots that I want another album just to keep those organized. But then some shots are stairs in the lobby and I can't figure out if I've put them in one of the albums or neither. I have to scroll through tons of shots to figure it out. It's always confusing.
Has anyone figured out a good workflow for bringing photos in and ensuring that each actually winds up in an album?
    PowerBook G4 17   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

I've finally figured out the solution to tracking which images have been 'assigned'...it's through the use of keywords and smart albums, not regular albums. It also lets you know whether you've missed assigning any images:
Create a Smart Album called "No Keywords". In the Search HUD that comes up when you do this, click on the "+" drop-down menu and select "IPTC". Click the checkbox next to the new IPTC line that's added to your search criteria, and select "Keywords" and "is empty" from the two drop-down menus. By using this or the "is not empty" or the other criteria in different/multiple combinations (you can add the IPTC line more than once), you can sort for anything.
Once you've set this up, start applying keywords to images. They will 'disappear' from this Smart Album. When the Smart Album is empty, you've assigned a keyword to everything. Keep this Smart Album in case you import other images or to check periodically to see if any images have been 'orphaned'.
Then use your keywords list to create Smart Albums that have keywords singly or in combination. I do this now and don't create regular albums at all.
One great piece of advice I've come across and will repeat here is that it's REALLY best to create ALL your keywords BEFORE you start applying them. In my first couple of projects I created them on the fly and realized that they were not perfect, started modifying, realized that some images needed more specificity, etc. Simply put, I made a mess. Now as I scan through an imported shoot I create the keywords first. Then I apply all the keywords I've made before creating any new ones or renaming ones I created in the first round.
Only then, once all the above-mentioned Smart Albums are created, might I add or adjust keywords. At this point it won't throw a wrench into the works and make me lose my bearings.
I'll continue to improve my workflow, but this finally works well for me, and it's pretty time-efficient.
Anyone have any gems to add to this thread before I mark it answered?

  • Loosing Photos after syncing from iPhoto...........

I synced a couple of albums from iPhoto onto my iPod. Went back and wanted to get a couple more. Synced those and lost the others. I did a search, and was unable to get a concrete answer. Please answer this. I have a large family gathering coming up later this afternoon and want to show the pix.
    Thanks for the response.

No, the old albums weren't on the new sync,
but........I read a little and tried rebuilding the
iPhoto library. Then I went back to iTunes and did
another sync. This time I included the albums that I
was missing plus the NEW ones I wanted. This time it
worked. All the albums were uploaded to the iPod.
Only this time, I noticed that it didn't take as long
to upload the old ones to the iPod. I don't know why,
but, after this rebuilding of the library, everything
stayed on the iPod. If anyone has an explanation, I'd
like to hear why this happens.
    Thanks:
    Lyle
if you're asking why it deletes the old ones if you don't select to update them when you put new ones on it, that's just the way itunes is set up. they try to make it so you only put the photos on there that you want, in case you don't want the old photos anymore.

  • Iphone4 delete photos after syncing to itunes

I have an iphone 4 w/out ios update. I have synced photos to itunes. itunes shows the amount of photos but I do not know how to access them. Also, all the photos I have synced are still on phone & I cannot delete from phone. It doesn't give me option to delete album or individual photo. Help!

You cannot sync photos TO iTunes. iTunes photo sync is used to transfer photos from a computer to the phone. It does not transfer photos the other direction.
Following are instructions on how to transfer photos taken on the phone to a computer: iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
Regarding deleting photos that were synced to the phone, the following quote is from iTunes: Syncing photos
To delete synced photos and videos from your device
In iTunes, click the Device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper-right corner first.)
Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
Note: To delete all synced photos, deselect "Sync Photos from" and, when asked, click "Remove photos."
    Click Apply.

  • Birthdays in Adressbook after sync are all 1 day off

    hi,
I am using the latest Mac OSX 10.6.6. After sync with Blackberry (using Blackberry Desktop Manager ver. 2.0) suddenly all my birthday entries in Addressbook have been deducted by one day. Ical (birthday subscription) changed accordingly.
Contact details in Blackberry remained unchanged. Outlook 2011 (sync services active) is still showing the right birthdays' dates. Therefore I assume the problem is located in Addressbook.
I have also unpaired BB device from Desktop Manager (way to reset sync history) then changed manually entries in Addressbook, plugged device and synced.
It helped only ones. After second sync, birthdays have been deducted again.
Has anyone any idea how to cope with the problem?
    Thanks for reply.

    I have the same problem!
This is really strange, can somebody shed some light on this?
    Thanks!!!

  • How do you stop your phone from creating two albums with the same photos after syncing?

When I first bought my phone I was able to sync my photos by checking the folder I wanted synced under iTunes. This put all those photos on photo library on my phone. I recently added more photos to that folder and tried to sync them it now put them in the photo library album and also created another album with my folder name. So I have two albums with the same photos. I tried in checking that folder in iTunes and of course they're not in my photo library. Please help. I don't want two albums with the same pics

This is how Apple has always handled photos.  nothing has changed at all.
Just as your music is in your library and you can access those exact same songs from a playlist, all of your synced pics are in the Photo Library and those exact same photos (NOT duplicates) can be accessed from the album name that you chose to sync.

  • I backed up my iPad to the cloud and then had to wipe and restore it. Most of the tings are there but can't find all my photos that I had put into albums. Can anyone help. Only a few of my pics came back on my photo stream.

Can any one help me find my photos and albums???

Photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days, even though your last 1000 photos will remain on your device until you delete them.  When you reconnect to photo stream you only get back photos from the last 30 days.  Only camera roll photos are included in the backup.  To save your photo stream photos be sure to save them to your camera roll so they are backed up.
Photo albums will only be restored if they contain photos from the camera roll.  If they were folders synced to your device from your computer that will not be restored, but will be recreated when you sync with iTunes.  If they were albums that only contained photo stream photos they would also not be restored.

  • I missing photos after syncing with the new iTunes, are they in the cloud and can I get them back?

When I synced My Iphone4 with the new Itunes it erased all my photos.  Are they in the cloud and if so, how do I recovery them?

  • Error Message (Arrow and Exclaimation Mark in Yellow Triangle) Showing on Bottom Right of Some Photos after Merging iPhoto Library into Aperture

The strange thing is that some of these said photos with an error message have a normal thumbnail and can be opened fine, but the others (most of them) just have an empty space in the thumbnail as if the image can't be found.
I tried to Locate Referenced Files as Leonie suggested in https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3686982?tstart=0 but got this message 'The Selection Doesn't Have Any Referenced Files', so i presume that's not the issue.
In the thread mentioned above, Leonie mentioned something about not emptying trash. I did empty my trash recently, and started to think these images may have been poor quality ones i previously deleted in the iPhoto library … but that still doesn't explain why the error currently appears on some images which seem to work fine (these images are ok quality ones and there is no way i would have deleted them in the past).
Also - the 'Processing' message at the bottom of the browser seems to be spinning endlessly. I just left it for over 10 hours overnight and it's still going. Could this be linked to these error images which it's having a hard time finding/loading?
Quite baffled at the moment, and would really appreciate any feedback. TIA.
    EDIT:
I just looked more closely. It appears that most of my folders have duplicates of the same image with exactly the same file name. And all the images with the error message have them on both duplicates (i.e. one on an image that has an empty thumbnail, and one on an image that's fine).
When i initially tried to import the library, it proceeded half way then failed. After opening the iPhoto library in Aperture first, and then doing the import again, everything worked fine. So, i'm wondering if the images with errors that are empty/blank may be the result of the failed 1st import.
What's puzzling is why they weren't overwritten (especially since all the file names are exactly the same). When importing the library, i chose 'merge' instead of 'add' when prompted, thinking that would solve it. Obviously not.
    EDIT 2:
After reflecting on this, i thought one solution may be to:
    a) Find all the error'd images that are empty/blank and delete them, and then
    b) Find and remove all duplicates
So i followed Leonie's suggestion to create a Smart Album and use the 'File Status is Missing' rule.
But now, i see that there are images that i imported into Aperture months ago that have the same problem. And the new thing is that there are duplicates with errors where *both* images are visible (whereas for the iPhoto library i just imported, there were dupes where one version was blank and the other was visible and seemingly ok).
I'm really hoping there is a simple solution to this, and am awaiting some feedback before i try anything else.
NB. This is a super large (over 100GB) Aperture library that i am trying to consolidate everything into. It is Work In Progress and i was only going to back it up once the import of various iPhoto libraries was done. However, I'm wondering if it's better to just back up first - but if i do it now, the backup will include all these errors and duplicates. What would you guys do?

    UPDATE 2:
The users in these 2 threads seem to have a similar File Status Not Found issue:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4086569?tstart=0
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/17757686#17757686
Followed Leonie's advice to look for the (missing) masters inside the Masters folder, and indeed, they were missing. So, that confirms the reason for the error message.
If this does not work, because you have managed originals, inside the Aperture Library, look for your originals in the Aperture Library Package. Select the Library in the Finder and ctrl-click, then select "Show Package Contents" from the pop-up. In the Finder window that opens, navigate to the folder "Masters". Your missing images should be inside; the folder is structured by date of import.
Of course, the question is - why the masters for these few images are missing, when the other images in the same project that were imported/merged at the same time are fine.
Trying to do the library import/merge from iPhoto into Aperture again. Fingers crossed. Will report back on the result.

    Karen,
The Other section on your iPod consists of such things as your iPod's software, album artwork, and somtimes corrupt files that are no longer recognizable by your iPod. The only way to clear up some of this excessive other space is to restore your iPod in iTunes.
