Photo album pictures and zooming

When photos in an album are viewed, they are initially displayed in a "cropped" format that must be zoomed to see the entire image. Seems to me that the initial display should ensure that the entire picture is displayed and, if you want, can be subsequently zoomed.
Is there any way to ensure that the initial image display is fully displayed??

The images are from my camera. All images are presented to iTunes in at least 1600 pixels on the max dimension. If the picture is an "odd crop" (not in the proportion of the screen - usually "taller" or "thinner") the display crops the images somewhat on initial display - for example, will display the central 80% of the image and to see the full images I have to squeeze it down to see the parts that are cropped on initial display.

I had a problem a couple of months ago when iPhotos suddenly rearranged the order of my Events (Why won't iPhoto let me arrange my photos?) . I was told "Use albums not events - events are not a good way to organize - albums and folder are designed for organisation and are very flexible".
Haha! I should have paid attention and read between the lines! My iPhotos were highly organised groupings - not according to date but the way I wanted them - and it was so easy to do! I see now that if I had them all in albums, as per the Apple Apologist suggestion, I wouldn't have this unholy mess I have been left with just to make iPhone & iCloud users happy. I am now going through Photos and making Albums (of what used to be in my Events) ... maybe I'll get this finished before they do another non user friendly update!

Photo Album app and Video viewing crashes the whole phone

Not sure whether there is already another forum for this?
I am running android 4.3.
I have found that when I go into my photo album and scroll right the way down to the bottom of the page, the pictures stop showing a thumbnail and instead all I am shown are blacked out squares. When I then scroll to the top of the page the thumbnails that were previously there then turn black too. This then has the effect of crashing the whole phone. What I mean by this is that it becomes unresponsive, the back and home buttons do not work and I am then shown a barrage of "Album is not working" or "Google+ is not working" or "system is not working" messages..
This is also the case when I am attempting to view videos. The phone will play some videos but then all of a sudden it will begin to become unresponsive in the same way as I have mentioned before.
When the phone has become unresponsive, the screen times out and I am unable to access my phone again for a good few minutes. When I can eventually access the phone, I have found the same sort of messages and unresponsiveness will occur again when I enter these apps or try to view videos through the movies app or another video viewing app and I am forced to restart the phone.
The issue with album app occurs every time I try to access the photos at the very bottom of the page. The issue with the videos appears to be more temperamental and will occur every so often and through either the movies app or when viewing videos through alternate sources such as facebook.
I have only recently bought the Z1 and I have to say I am incredibly disappointed by the device so far!
Can anyone offer any sort of guidance or tips on what I should do?

Sounds like there could be a problem with the indexation of your media files. So I suggest that you try to clear data for the media storage application.
Settings > App's > All > Media storage > Clear data.

Powerpoint on Mac - Photo Album feature and file compression

I am running Powerpoint 2008 for Mac, version 12.2.7, on my MacBook Pro. The MacBook Pro is a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, running Mac OSX 10.5.8.
I have had an issue for several years with Powerpoint on the Mac. Other folks in my company - all on PCs - are able to do two things in PPT that I cannot. One is to dump a bunch of photographs into a PPT presentation automatically - one image per slide - using the Photo Album feature. I cannot find this or a similar feature on my PPT for Mac. Does this exist?
Also, my PPTs are loaded with photos, and the finished PPT files get really large. The folks with PCs are able to select a single JPG on a slide, go to Format Picture > Compress, and select "apply to all images in this presentation". Then compress the photos to either 96dpi, 150dpi or 200dpi (I think those are the choices) with one push of the button. I also cannot find this or a similar function on my PPT for Mac.
I could really use both of these features. Does anyone know if they exist, and where I can find them in PPT for Mac?

When making a slideshow, can you focus on a part of a picture and zoom out?

I'm trying to make a slideshow through Keynote for a friend's dad's memorial and we have these big group high school pictures that would be fun to have it zoomed in on their dad and then zoom out to display the whole picture before it moves on to the next slide. Is there any way that this can happen in keynote?? Or even vice versa? Have it zoom into the dad? I looked in the side panel that has the transition options and such but couldn't find anything that might focus on a point and zoom out? Thank you for your help!

Easiest way is to use a Magic Move.
on slide 1 place the full image on the slide
click on the slide in the Navigator panel and duplicate the slide, (command D)
with slide 1 selected, set this slide as a magic mov; Inspector > Transitions > Magic Move.
On slide 2, resize and reposition the photo at a larger size.

If you want to manage all photos with iPhoto, you can import all photos to iPhoto.
If your photos in "Pictures", "Documents", etc. have been placed there by applications, you have to check the documentation of the application, if the photos need to be in these places. Do you remember, which applications stored the photos in those folders?

Yes, shared photo sharing takes up storage on your device. It's a bit less than if the photos/videos were taken on your device as shared albums are "device optimized" and are typically lower resolution than the originals in the camera roll.

Can anyone tell me how I can take photos from Pictures and move them into iPhotos so that I can share them on photo stream to my Apple TV?

I have tried all morning to get my picture files to move into iPhotos. I want to push them using photo stream to my Apple TV. My picture files were originally from a Windows programme, I have too many photos to loose or just lay unviewed on my Mac!

iTunes isn't an editor. You need an app that's intended for editing audio files, like Adobe Audition (http://www.adobe.com/products/audition.html) or Audacity (free in the App Store).

Movies on photo album page not working correctly

I have movies on some photo album pages, and only since updating to Snow Leopard, when I click on a movie, the sound begins to play, but the picture sticks on the poster frame. If I go "back to album" and click the movie again, it will usually play normally. What gives? Anyone else have this happening?

I have a similar problem with movies. Put a movie made on the iphone into a space holder place on a Blog page. Got the green plus sign and it played on the page.
After publishing I see the first frame on the main blog page, but when I click read more to see the movie and whole blog entry I get a faded quicktime symbol with a question mark symbol in the middle.

ITunes shows no photos in iPad and iPhone

I got 13000 photos in iphoto they dont show in ipad and iphone. 10.9 on mac, 7.0.3 (11B511) on iphone, 5.1.1 on ipad (it is an old one).

!- On the mac I have in iPhoto about 13000 pictures with album, maps, faces, etc. It work very well.
2- I go to itunes, swtch to iphone, Go to photos and verify that I have checked "All photos, Albums, Event and Faces". I press sync.
3- After it is finished I go on my iPhone in Photos. It says: "No Photos or Videos" and few sentences describing how to get photos. For my case it means to sync using itunes.
I have looked on the iphone during the whole process, as far as I can aproximately see during step 4 of 6 it creates an empty space for each Album, Face, etc. During step 5 it fill those spaces with the photos. During step 6, whem it say finishing sync everithing disapper and you get "No Photos or Videos".
As a matter of curiosity, one time I had a power failure at the beginning of step 6. After I had some of my photos normally in iphone but when it re-sync I was back to "No Photos or Videos"..
It is exactly the same on the ipadbut but the wording of the message is different having the same sense.
Note that before Maverick, on Mountain Lion, it worked quite normally.

Can not delete "documents" folder in iphone photo album

I don't know how it happened but I opened my photo album recently and noticed that there is a roll in there called "Documents". When I open it there are several photos, one of which is a document on how to use windows fax and scan, a few others are generic windows desktop photos and a few others are from a website I designed a long time ago. My suspicion is that it's from the airsharing app i used to have.
I am not able to delete these documents. Anyone have any idea how to get rid of them? Hopefully without a reset of my phone.

Did you try to copy the folder to another place and delete it afterwards in the photo album on your pc and apply a sync?

Problem with Creating Web Photo Album

I have Dreamweaver CS 4 and I tried to make a web photo album using a trial version of Fireworks CS4. Once Fireworks starts I get an error message saying there is a problem with Fireworks and it shuts down. The photo album folders and html pages are created, but the pictures aren't there. I've done on another computer and it works great. Could there be a problem with the trial version of Fireworks? I can open Fireworks on its own and works fine.

How are you uploading your site to the server? Are you using iWeb's ftp capability? For some unknown reason it can fail at uploading changes to the site and leave vital pages out causing problems like you're experiencing. Have you tried using the File ➙ Publish Entire Site menu option to get all of the new files uploaded?
If this continuse you might have to use a 3rd party FTP client like Cyberduck, YummyFTP or Transmit to upload the new files manually. All of those apps provide a Finder like window of your server so you can easily drag and drop the required files onto the server.
To determine exactly what files are missing and where they go bring up the Activity window (Command+Option+A) for the page in Safari. It will list all of the files it expects to find and indicate those which are missing.
If a file is missing a Not Found will be listed at the right.
Note: The bottom of your Contact page runs off the content portion of the page and can't be seen. Either lengthen the length of the page with the Inspector/Page/Layout pane or add an empty text box and drag it downward pushing the footer area below the last of the content.

I have a new iPhone, same phone (4s) & I'm trying to transfer everything using iCloud, but some of my pictures are in my photo album & some ate in my photo stream. Only the photo stream photos are transferring to the new device. How do I move my photo album pictures into my photo stream so I can transfer them to my new phone? Thank you.

If your pictures in your camera roll, you need to restore your phone from back up of the old phone. If your pictures in the albums that were transferred from computer, you need to get a hold on that computer and transfer again. Instructions on how to create back up and restore from that back up found here.
