Photo Album Placement on Home Page

Dreamweaver MX 2004, Fireworks MX 2004
I have created a photo album and it works just fine in the
separate document created by DW. I cannot, however, place the photo
album on my home page, where I want it to reside. I've tried
inserting the photo album file as a Fireworks HTML Image Object
thru the "Inser" command, and get an error message that tells me
the file is not a Fireworks HTML file. I've tried to copy and paste
the code into my home page, and none of the links were working. I
changed the links and the thumbnail files now work, but when I try
to open a larger version of the thumbnail, the file is not found.
I've worked on this until I'm numb (or dumb!). Is there a simpler
way to import the photo album file into the home page document and
have the photo album work properly?

I'm not familiar with that method of generating a photo
album, but you do have to make sure that all of the directories
that contain the thumbnails and full-size photos are located
somewhere under your main project directory, and that all are
uploaded to your server. If you just paste code on your home page,
but the links are pointing somewhere else on your hard drive, it's
not going to work when uploaded.

Photos in your camera roll can be deleted on your device: Select the photo>Tap the trash can, lower right.
Photos synced to your phone must be removed the same way they got there, through the iTunes sync process. You remove the checks next to the albums/folders, under the Photos tab, then hit Apply/Sync.

  • On iPad with iOS 8.0.2 I am experiencing photos are missing on Home page of some Facebook posts when connecting to Facebook via Safari

I have noted that I am not able to view some photos of some Facebook posts on my Home page when I try to view on my iPad (iOS 8.0.2) via Safari. On some occasions I can refresh the page and some of the photos become visible, others remain the large white box with the tiny blue question mark in the center of the box. Anyone else out there with this problem? Thanx.

Your iPhone's iOS must be same or newer than the one in backups. In your case it is older so you need to update your iPhone and then recover it with backup.

  • IPhoto '11 Photo Album with Full-bleed Pages?

    H o w d y  ~
When creating an 8.5"x11" album in iPhoto '11, is it possible to remove the one-quarter inch white border that appears along the top, right, and left sides?  When viewed in iPhoto, my album has no white borders [the pages are full-bleed], but the proof .pdf has these borders [though not along the bottom, oddly enough].  This is especially problematic as these borders cut into the photos.  Attachments are screenshots of an album page viewed in iPhoto [no borders] and that same page viewed in the .pdf [borders have automagically appeared].  … Enlightenment appreciated! . . . .

==>  [Please disregard the above.  Turns out the white borders were an artifact of the method I used to produce the .pdf (command-P; Save PDF).  When using option-Buy Book, the actual version sans print borders was created.  Mea culpa!] . . . .

  • Wanted to Edit "Create Web Photo Album" template

    I'm using MX2004.
I've recently done a major, major overhaul on a website I
manage. We use the "Create Web Photo Album" (not an extension - the
one that came with DW) extensively, but with the new design, the
basic photo album template isn't going to cut it. I could probably
sit with it myself and drop created photo albums into a template
page and make it work, but I'm not the only one doing photo albums
and some of the other people aren't the most... technically
    competent.
What I'd like to do is somehow edit the template that
Dreamweaver uses to create the photo album so that it looks like
how we're wanting without any post-album-created-action.
Is this possible? Is there an extension that'll work for this
as well? (Looks like the Exchange is currently down, so that isn't
    helping me in my search.)

Get the free extension "Create Web Photo Album 2" from Adobe.
    It has many
pre made templates plus instructions on how to create your
    own.

  • Text below photo album too far down when viewing individual photos

In iweb, I've made pages of photos. I have text below the photo album. On this page: http://axleart.com/index/Thelma_Mathias.html#1 the text pops up right below the photo when I shift from thumbnail to individual photos. I like this. On other pages, such as: http://axleart.com/index/Matthew_Chase-Daniel.html the text remains way down at the bottom of a long blank page. I want to make it pop up like on the other. How to do this? I notice that on the good page, the text box is below a little line at the bottom of the album (so would be the "made on a mac" button. On the bad page, the text box is above this line. I suspect this might be the key, but I can't get it below. Any ideas?

"To purchase, click here" text box of the problem page is in the page body_layer, you need to move it into footer_layer below the little line at the bottom of the album.
to do that select the text box, drag it down while hold down *command key* ; footer_layer will lite up when the text box is inside footer_layer .

  • Photo Album Orientation

Is it possible to change the orientation of your photo albums (on the web page) from horizontal to vertical? Thanks!

The battery pull is a great recommendation Grimmr74. Additionally, please verify that your software is up to date. If the device will still not respond, we recommend a hard reset.  http://bit.ly/ocEV4x, http://bit.ly/vq7ouj.

  • Photo Album on N8 ??

    Hi,
At last I upgraded from N97 to N8.
First impressions of N8 on me not too much after N97.
    My question is ;
I created photo albums on N8.
And I wanted to upload my-N97 photos on my laptop to photo-albums on N8.
After I connected N8 to laptop, I saw everything, but I could not see photo albums of N8 on may laptop.
    What could be the reason....?
    Thanks in advance....

There's a couple of apps on the App Store that do a great job at this.
Photo Shack Pro - let's you create libraries and albums for your photos, select what photos you want in each, and in what order, let's you view them in a lightbox or full-screen, zoom in to full resolution, even look at the embedded photo data.  You can also map and slideshow your photos.
iAlbum Pro - is a beautiful and intuitive "virtual" photo album that looks, feels, and works just like a "real" photo album, complete with cover, pages, photo corners, the works...  Plenty of options for different covers, pages, corners, even photo borders to build dozens of unique albums to save your favorite photos in.
Both work entirely on the iPad.  No need to connect to a computer or the Internet.

  • How make a slideshow that mimics a photo album (book)

For the past year I've been using FCE to make simple slideshows and I want to attempt something a bit more difficult now (but not too hard <grin>).
I want to create a slideshow that mimics looking through a photo album. On each page of the "book" you would see some number of photos, then the page would turn. Does this seem like a good learning project?
I can visualize what I want, but there are some things I can't figure out how to accomplish.
    1. How can I create a "book cover" and have it open. Book covers open stiffly, so a page peel effect isn't quite the right thing.
    2. For the "pages", I want photos on a background that looks like paper. Then the background needs to turn - not just the individual photos. How could I make a background? Oh, and some of those "photos" will be video clips. Does that make any difference?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Pointers to applicable tutorials are especially welcome.
    thanks in advance,
    -Mike

    Hi(Bonjour)!
    Try this workflow:
In Photoshop, create a template document with a scanned paper texture on background. Start with a mid size document like 1066 X 800 (it fits 4:3 aspect ratio) pixels frame size. Add scaled down photos on layers to compose the presentation on the page itself. You can event add some black paper corners on each photo. Flatten the PSD document and save it as PICT or PNG. Repeat this process for each desired page of your slide show and create a cover for the album.
Import all these documents in FCE and edit your stills in timeline with correct duration. Add a simple page peel transition(with small curl value) or a horizontal barn door transition at each edit, and voilà.

  • HT4236 Syncing a photo album on iPad

  • Problem with Creating Web Photo Album

I have Dreamweaver CS 4 and I tried to make a web photo album using a trial version of Fireworks CS4.   Once Fireworks starts I get an error message saying there is a problem with Fireworks and it shuts down.   The photo album folders and html pages are created, but the pictures aren't there.  I've done on another computer and it works great.  Could there be a problem with the trial version of Fireworks?  I can open Fireworks on its own and works fine.
    Thanks for any help

How are you uploading your site to the server?  Are you using iWeb's ftp capability?  For some unknown reason it can fail at uploading changes to the site and leave vital pages out causing problems like you're experiencing. Have you tried using the File ➙ Publish Entire Site menu option to get all of the new files uploaded?
If this continuse you might have to use a 3rd party FTP client like  Cyberduck, YummyFTP or Transmit to upload the new files manually.  All of those apps provide a Finder like window of your server so you can easily drag and drop the required files onto the server.
To determine exactly what files are missing and where they go bring up the Activity window (Command+Option+A) for the page in Safari.  It will list all of the files it expects to find and indicate those which are missing.
If a file is missing a Not Found will be listed at the right.
Note:  The bottom of your Contact page runs off the content portion of the page and can't be seen. Either lengthen the length of the page with the Inspector/Page/Layout pane or add an empty text box and drag it downward pushing the footer area below the last of the content.

  • Home page background photo not displaying after changing out the image

I decided to edit the photo that was my background image for my desktop home page. Now it doesn't load when I access the site from my mobile or iPad even though it is there and displays fine from my desktop.
I have a mobile version of my site with a link to the desktop version included in my navigation menu. I don't have a tablet version of my site.
Any ideas what might be causing this? I'm stumped.

Hey, Thanks Brad. It doesn't seem to be timing out (i.e there is no "processing" indicator in the browser the way it looks if something is trying to load). It gets all settled in and just never brings up the photo. It's a little reluctant to do so on the desktop, but after a half a second it goes ahead and puts it on there.
Additionally, not sure if this is related,... but the text I have on the home page jumps about and is not a mirror image of what I see on the Muse design side. I had to put the text boxes on top of each other to get them to into place when I publish to desktop. They kept trying to go on top of the plane for some reason even though I had them placed just so on the design side. But this started happening before I replaced the image so maybe it's unrelated. Idk
One thing, I wonder: I thought Muse did it automatically, but do I maybe need to optimize the photo for web? Outside of that, the only other thing I can think of to do is to delete the current home page and start fresh. But I'm afraid to do that. I don't know how to do that.
Thanks so much for your help. I will PM a link fyi.

  • Movies on photo album page not working correctly

I have movies on some photo album pages, and only since updating to Snow Leopard, when I click on a movie, the sound begins to play, but the picture sticks on the poster frame. If I go "back to album" and click the movie again, it will usually play normally. What gives? Anyone else have this happening?

I have a similar problem with movies. Put a movie made on the iphone into a space holder place on a Blog page. Got the green plus sign and it played on the page.
After publishing I see the first frame on the main blog page, but when I click read more to see the movie and whole blog entry I get a faded quicktime symbol with a question mark symbol in the middle.

  • Setting up Photo album on a pre-buildt page?

I built a photo album using the DW Command> create photo album and now I have my folder with pages, thumbnails and images. I have a pictures page built for my site already and have read a dozen tutorials but can't figure out how to import my album folder info into my picture page. Is this possible? How do I make my photo album look like the rest of the pages in my site?
    Thanks

Not to put too fine a point on it, the Dreamweaver Create Photo Album command is a pile of garbage. And no, I'm not likely to offend Adobe engineers by saying so. They agree that the code it creates is completely out of date and has no place in Dreamweaver. It was created in the days when websites and web design were much less sophisticated than today. It's not used by professionals, who are the main target market for Dreamweaver, so it was never improved. A much better solution is in the Adobe Output Module in Bridge CS4, which is installed by default with the latest version of Dreamweaver.
Unfortunately, if you want to use the Create Photo Album command in Dreamweaver, you're entirely on your own. It cannot be used to integrate with an existing site. You need to generate the photo album, and then style each page individually to fit in with the rest of the site. Decide to add a few new pictures, and you have to start all over again. Sorry, but that's the way it is.
