Photo albums to computer/laptop

Hi everyone!  As I was going on holidays recently I bought an iPad as I thought it was the lightest and easiest way to keep my photos organised (and use the internet etc).  Therefore, each night I would upload my photos from my camera to my iPad, crop/edit the images and then I created albums and saved my photos in these albums, thinking that when I got home I could just transfer the albums from the iPad to my laptop.  But, alas, it appears that I can only transfer the images themselves and not the albums, which means a whole lot of work to do again, especially as I have over 2000 photos.  Is this correct?

Faced the same problem having just got back from holidays. I have found a solution that allows you to import your albums, but you need to purchase the iPhoto app for your ipad if you haven't yet.
In iPhoto on iPad, open the album you want to save to your computer, click on the share icon. Select iTunes. After it has done it's thing, plug your ipad in to your computer via the USB cable. Open iTunes, click on the ipad in the left column, then the Apps tab. At the bottom of the page you'll see a list of apps that allows for file transfer to/from iPad/computer. Select iPhoto, click on the album(s) you want to save to your computer then click save as. You'll need to save them to a location on your computer before dragging and dropping into iPhoto. It doesn't seem like you can save directly to iPhoto.
A few steps involved, but far less work than importing all photos and sorting them into albums again.

  • Can't get rid of photo album from computer

My phone has a photo stream album from computer that I cannot get rid of.  I have removed the folder containing the photos from my computer.  Removed all backups in itunes.  The box in the itunes sync for photos has never been checked.  I have syncd several times and cannot get rid of the album from the iphone.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Create and sync an empty folder to your phone as I expained in your other post hereI have an album on my iPhone 4 called "Photo Stream, From My Computer." And i have no way of deleting any picture in that album or deleting the album. I have searched around forever and found nothing that worked. Please help! (I run iOS 7) .  That will remove any orphaned albums previously synced to your phone.

how to download photo albums to computer

fb or icloud download images click on the shared section in the sidebar. choose facebook or icloud flickr etc whichever you need.
Then forget selecting all images and looking for an import method, because even if you click on the adjustments tab of the sidebar, it will only import one of the images selected (!!!! yep, stupid).
So, you can now celebrate the fact that you will have to go round and round importing each of your thousands of FB photos individually. Happy importing hope you dont grow to be 79 years old before you finish.
Inc ase someone blames it on FB admin permissions, it isn't, because its the same problem with icloud shared streams.

  • I am planning a long vacation and taking my laptop but it is my home computer that my new ipad and ipod touch are synced too. I know i can backup to the cloud over wifi but how can i do things like delete photo albums

I am planning a long vacation and taking my laptop but it is my home computer that my new ipad and ipod touch are synced too. I know i can backup to the cloud over wifi but how can i do things like delete photo albums instead of having to manually delete pictures one by one on the Ipad. Is there any way also to add my pictures to the ipad other than through email. i am assuming that i can't just install itunes on the laptop and sync to that. I have been told that i always have to sync to my original synced home computer for that.

The links below have instructions for deleting photos.

  • How do I delete a photo album off of my iPhone 5 when the photo album is from another computer. I can't delete it btw!

I've synced an photo album from my old Toshiba laptop to my iPhone 5 last year, the laptop doesn't work anymore, but now i have a MacBook pro and i can't delete it off of my phone or iTunes! please help! My storage is almost full and i want to delete it!

If you select a single photo on your Mac to be transferred to your iPhone, all photos on your iPhone that were transferred from your previous computer should be erased first.

1, you can't at the moment, though with iOS 5 in the Autumn, from http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/features.html#photos :
Even organize your photos in albums — right on your device
2, by removing it from you synced from and re-syncing. Only photos taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad (either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view)
3, the location of the photos that you synced to the iPad should be listed on the iPad's Photos tab when connected to your computer's iTunes.
4, you can copy the photos from your iPad to your computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 . You should also be able to delete them from the iPad as part of the transfer process to your computer, and it's then your choice whether to add them to your sync photo list so as to copy them back to the iPad. Copying them to your computer would allow you to organise them into folders and therefore be able to sync them back into separate albums.
5, I don't use Dropbox either. There are some third-party browser apps in the iTunes App Store that allow you to download pages so that you can view them when offline e.g. Atomic Web (the whole page is saved within Atomic Web, it doesn't place a photo into the Photos app)
6, deleting content should help. If you remove an app from your iPad then you also remove the content that it's got on the iPad - so if you then decide to reinstall it back onto the iPad then you will need to manually add back any content that you want in it. None of the Apple built-in apps (including Photos) can be removed from the iPad

  • How to transfer one photo album from my computer to my ipad

A while ago, I tried to sync my computer and iPad, and all the 1200 photos on my computer got synced over to my iPad as teeny weeny photos with blurred images, and the photos on my computer which were fine before, also changed to teeny weeny images.  I was not happy.  After weeks of recreating the photos on my computer, I decided to try again, and the same thing happened, but this time I stopped the sync before it could change too many photos on my computer.  So how can I move photos one album at a time, and how do I stop this process changing all the photos to being unviewable?  Thanks

No, Target Mode will not work for you. At least, it will not work well.
I had misunderstood your problem. You had your laptop on vacation and you used it to temporarily store your vacation pictures as you were taking them. Correct?
Since everything is all in one album, the solution is actually quite simple. From inside iPhoto, open the album on the laptop and do a CMD-A to "Select All." Drag them to your Sandisk.
Go to the desktop computer and do a "File > Import to Library" to import the photos into the library. They'll all be in "Last Roll." Manually create the album and drag them all into the library.
WARNING - If you've modified the photos on the laptop, you might wish to "Revert to Original" before you do all of the above. Otherwise, the modified versions will be considered as "originals" on the desktop computer.

  • How do I delete downloaded photo albums from my iPhone 4 if I don't have the original computer?

My old computer crashed causing me to lose everything. I have a photo album on my iPhone that I would like to get rid of but i can't seem to figure out how to on my new computer. Is it possible to get rid of that album without factory resetting my phone and losing everything?

Try this (not 100% sure it will work, though.)
Transfer all your photos from the device to your computer:
Then, do an iCloud or iTunes backup.
    Erase all content & settings.
    Restore from the backup.

  • On Facebook, how can I share another person's photo album to my iPad? It shows up on my Android phone and on my computer, but not on my iPad.

My son posted an album on Facebook; he took the pictures with a regular camera. I shared the album and it immediately showed up on my All-in-One computer and on my Droid phone on my Facebook timeline. It has never appeared on the iPad, so all my friends with iPads are not seeing this photo album. Do yoiu have any idea why?
    Thanks, Naomi

I have discovered the same problem.  The timeline or group that the album is loaded directly to one can see the album and photos. However my habit has been to us my group as archive and then share the album with other groups saving me uploading several times.  If I look at on my desktop I and others like you see the shared album and friends with droid FB apo also see but ones with iOS FB app do not see the shared album be it on a friend/family member timeline another group.  I do not think this used to be, if almost seems that recent updates of the applicaion for iOS led to this problem but I am not certain. This is a big issue as I do not have time to upload and describe the same photos on the two to three other groups I share with.  I share your frustration, and there seem to be other things I do not see maybe it is all the shared photos/albums vs ones put on a timeline or group.  Not acceptable...

  • How can i delete a photo album that has been synced from another computer

I am trying to delete a photo album that I do not need anymore from an iPad 4. But the album has been synced from a computer that I don't have access to anymore. Is there anyway around this ?

Photos that were synced from a computer can only be deleted by connecting to a computer's iTunes and changing the sync selection on the device's Photos tab.
Is that the only album that was synced from that computer (and you now sync the iPad to a different computer ?), or do you have other albums from it that you want to keep on the iPad ? If you want to keep one or more albums on it then they will need to be on the computer that you sync to so that they can be selected on the Photos tab and re-copied to the iPad from that computer. If you want to remove all synced photos then try selecting and syncing just an empty folder

  • HT4236 How can you create a photo Album on your iPhone and import that Album onto your computer (in my case a PC)?  It appears you can only sync from the computer to the iPhone, which is the opposite direction of what's desired in this case.

It appears that sync'ingis pretty much one way, from the desktop to the device. If you create a folder on the desktop that is synced through iTunes with the iPhone, that folder appears as an Album in Pictures on the device.  But on the device you cannot add photos to that synced Album, so there is no way to use the desktop-based Album as an evolving target for new pictures on the phone, unless you do all the additions on the desktop software.
    This really isn't "syncing".
Further, if you create a new Album on the iPhone, it doesn't appear in the sync'ed folders on the desktop.
The configuration for this discussion is iTunes 11 on Windows PC, iPhone 4S, and Windows Photo Gallery for picture editing on the PC.
I'd like to have Albums and PC-based Picture Folders truly sync'ed.  Am I missing something or is this truly an iTunes Photo Sync'ing deficiency?

The camera roll is not part of the sync process at all.
You should be importing these photos to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera.  Youc an organize them on your computer and sync the to the iphone if you wish.
The photos sync from the computer to the iphone is one way.
The iphone mirrors the selected content of the computer to which it is synced.

  • How do I delete photos and photo albums from my iPhone? The instructions given do not work. No "delete" symbol appears next to the album name, and no trash can icon appears below most of the pictures the computer just put on my new iPhone 4.

How do I delete photos and photo albums from my iPhone 4? The instructions given do not work. No "delete" symbol appears next to the album name when I press "Edit," and no trash can icon for me to click appears below most of the individual photos in the albums the computer just loaded on my new iPhone 4. When I synced the new phone the computer added these photo albums without permission from me. They are now taking up about 3 GB of memory on my phone. I would like very much to get rid of these photos from the phone. How do I do this?

To delete photos from your device
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
    Click Apply.
