Photo app (Mac) doesn't sync with iCloud

Hi All,
I have taken couple of pictures at home with my iphone which are in my iphone photo library and have by now also made it to the iCloud online.
However, when I start the photo app on my Mac (OS Yosemite) these photos are still not there. While I expect that they should be there instantly, they have had now couple of hours (within a wifi network) to be synced.
(Having a flawless synchronisation between apple devices was one of my key factors why I have bought an app. However, this hardly every works.)
Does anyone know how I can force the photo app only my Mac to refresh and thus get the latest pictures from iCloud?
I would much appreciate any help!
Many thanks
Alpha

Make sure you have ticked Numbers in System Preferences > iCloud.
You may need to sign out of iCloud and then back in again to "jumpstart " the syncing.

  • I have set up all my mac devices to sync with iCloud and all work except for email. When I delete on one device, the delete doesn't occur on the other devices.

I have set up all my mac devices to sync with iCloud and all applications work except for email. Incoming messages appear on all devices but when I delete on one device, the delete doesn't occur on the other devices.

Thank you for your interest. I use apple mail to access my two accounts -I guess they are 3rd party accounts. One is a gmail acount and the other is a bigpond account. I admit to a lack of a high level of literacy when it comes to the language around all of this. For example, I am aware that I have an iCloud email account as I managed to set it up, but don't really understand the purpose of it as the last thing I need is yet another email account to oversee.

  • ICal calendars on my Mac don't sync with iCloud

Am I missing something? When I configured iCloud, I noticed that I suddenly had duplicates of my Address Book and Calenders. My Mac can sync with my phone, my phone can sync with iCloud, but I can't sync my Mac with iCloud.
Maybe I'm too lazy and haven't read enough about it, but it seems like a total cluster.
So now, when I want to update my calendar on my Mac, I have to go to iCloud instead of using iCal.
Anyway, if I'm missing something... feel free to point it out. No offense taken

I have something similar and i will try to explain with my rusty english.
I have an ID on iCloud but i can't sync the iCal events.
On my mac there is everythign (appointment, notes birthdays and so on). On my iCloud there is nothing.
I suppose was something related with the old ID  (one just for ichat, not one of the ID that you pay to receive extra services or a @me.com account).
Now, as soon as the icloud features was installed on my Macbook Air I signed a new ID and initially everything worked fine. Emails on Mail and  contacts were syncronized properly but with the new ID. i did not check iCal account.
So i tried also with the old one (the ichat ID) and all was sync. So i realized that maybe Apple recognized same account or name and merge all the ID in just one.
    I was wrong.
The 2 ID's are not linked.
further checks add also this new weird stuff. in any case i cant sync ical accounts. i tried to switch from one to another ID. no way. i checked preferences in iCal on the mac. everything is fine. no way.
    do uu have any idea?

  • How do I set up a calendar on my iphone that doesn't sync with iCloud?

I have an iPhone, iPad , iMac and Mac mini all connected to iCloud for syncing of iCal, Mail, Address Book etc.
I want to set up a calendar on my iPhone that doesn't sync to my other devices, so that I can set reminders that will only pop up on the iPhone.
Can anyone help with advice? Does iCal/iCloud handle this?

Have read the printer manual, it will contain instructions for connecting it to a network, and then to your Mac. You don't identify this printer so it's difficult to be more specific.
You can also go to the printer manufacturers website and seek assistance there.

  • Photos for Mac won't communicate with iCloud

I seem to have all my pictures from both iCloud and iPhoto in Photos for Mac, but my iPhoto library won’t upload into iCloud and any pictures I delete from Photos for Mac don’t get deleted from iCloud. There is no communication between the two whatsoever. I tried turning iCloud off and on and I got this message:
“8 referenced files in your library will not upload to iCloud Photo Library. Select referenced files in your library and choose “Consolidate” from the File menu to copy the original files into the library.”
I have no idea what that means there is no file called “referenced files” any where in or around my iPhoto library. Photos is really good at making my Mac Book over heat though.

  • Address book on MacPro doesn't sync with iCloud

I have put contacts in my address book and it's not being sync to my other devices or the iCloud.
I tried to uncheck the addressbook in icould on my mac and then rebooted and checked it again. Still won't sync.

First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.

  • Address book empty on mac, won't sync with iCloud

    Hi everyone,
I've got a Macbook running Lion and an iPhone running iOS5, I'm using iCloud to sync.  I discovered today that my Address book on my macbook is empty.  On my iPhone, I have all of the sync services turned on in iCloud.  I also have iCloud set up on the macbook, but the contacts box is unchecked.  If I check the box in iCloud preferences, it won't stay that way.  Once I close the preferences pane and reopen it, the checkbox is empty again.
I'm not sure if this is a related issue, but this is also driving me nuts.  I have an exchange account that I no longer use that will not go away no matter how many times I delete it.  I can delete it from "mail, contacts & calendars" and in my address book, but it comes back every time.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you!!

Ok, I fixed it.  I had to dump the entire ~Library/Application Support/AddressBook folder.  Once I did it solved both of the issues I was having.  Hooray!

  • Why after IOS6 Ipad calendar not syncing with Icloud?

After I upgrade Iphone and Ipad to IOS6, my Ipad calendar doesn't sync with ICloud using exactly same Apple ID. Any sugestions?

    1. Fire up your Mac and connect the iPad.
    2. Open iTunes and confirm that you are NOT syncing via the cable. Change settings as appropriate. When finished, disconnect the iPad and power it down.
    3. Open iCal on the Mac and confirm that the events are correct. Add/delete events as appropriate. Quit from iCal.
    4. Open System Preferences > MobileMe > Sync
    5. Click on "Advanced" and then click on your Mac when it shows up.
    6. Click on "Reset Sync Data"
    7. At the top, Replace: Calendars
    8. Click the right-pointing arrow so that the complete text states: "Replace Calendars on MobileMe with sync info from this computer."
    9. Click "Replace"
    10. You've confirmed that your Mac and MobileMe are set up properly. Now the iPad. Fire up the iPad and go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    11. REMOVE Calendar syncing from the account that's identified by your email address.
    12. Follow the instructions below.

  • My wife and I both have the new iPhones.  Is there a way to set up two separate iCloud accounts but have photo stream from both phones sync with one family mac?  So we don't want to share contacts or anything else, just photos... Thanks in advance

My wife and I both have the new iPhones.  Is there a way to set up two separate iCloud accounts but have photo stream from both phones sync with one family mac?  So, we don't want to share contacts or anything else, just photos... Thanks in advance

If you turned off Contacts wouldnt that mean that the Contacts would no longer be backed up to iCloud as well? That would make it a pain when upgrading a phone to not easily pull contacts back down.

  • Since syncing with iCloud all my photos in my photo app are much lower resolution than they were before. Can anyone explain what happened an how I might get back my high resolution photos?

Since syncing with iCloud all my photos in my photo app are much lower resolution than they were before. Can anyone explain what happened an how I might get back my high resolution photos?

    Thanks again.
Unfortunately I don't have iPhoto (running Windows).
    I did, however, figure out a work-around.
I created an empty directory on my computer, and told iTunes to "Sync Photos from..." that empty directory. This deleted all the photos from the iPod (go figure).
I then set the "Sync Photos from..." dropdown back to directory that actually contained all my photos, and sync'd again.
And, yes, they all loaded onto the iPod at their better, higher resolution.
Thanks for all your help. Photos (and wallpaper) are perfect, again

  • Photos are being added to my iPad, without choosing any events in iPhoto or having them sync with iCloud

Photos are being added to my iPad, without choosing any events in iPhoto or having them sync with iCloud
I just upgraded to IOS6, and now my ipad is full of pictures I did not choose to sync.
I cannot delete them without deleting them from all sources.
Actually, the message is when I go to hit EDIT, select a picture, and then choose DELETE: "This photo is used in an album. Do you want to delete it everywhere? Delete Everywhere"
Does that mean "Everywhere" on my iPad, or everywhere including whatever place on my computer it found the photos to begin with?
    PLEASE HELP
    Ps:
    I've already done this:
To delete photos from your device
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
    Click Apply.

You can still sync the photos and keep the photos that are already on the device. You have to include all of the albums or events in the pictures folder that you sync from. If you are using iPhoto, select that in the Sync Photos from drop down menu and then select all of the albums or events that you want to sync. Make sure to check Selected Albums, events, faces and automatically include (no events). Using that option will allow you to choose exactly which albums and events to sync.
You have to remember that all photos must be included in every sync so you cannot sync photos from iPhoto today and then try to sync photos from another folder tomorrow, or you will erase all of the photos that were synced from iPhoto. You need to maintain one main Photos syncing folder for the photos that you want to transfer to the iPad. You can have subfolders within that one main folder and you can selectively sync those subfolders. You just have to place all of the photos that you want to sync into one main iPad syncing photos folder.
There are WiFi transfer apps that allow you to transfer photos to the iPad without having to sync with iTunes. I use this one. This app (and others like it) will allow you to use multiple computers to transfer photos.

  • Does Podcasts App sync with iCloud

The updated Podcasts App on my is much improved on my 4S and my first gen iPad.
No syncing issues... Now quickly and seemlessly syncs between the two even though iPad does not have iOS 6
My question is this ... Is my 2nd gen Apple TV podcasts app sync with iCloud?
    Thanks in advance
    N

Apparently it did sync only part for me although I have lost some entries within my lists within reminders when attempting to sync my mac and iPhone to iCloud simultaneously, no thanks to apple care.
Apple care set up my iCloud account over the phone and attempted to sync incorrectly resulting in this problem of mine. Since then Apple care have attempted to solve the problem but are not skilled enough to recover my lost entries from out there somewhere so i suggest you back up before syncing just in case you loose data also.
I suggest initially syncing only one device at a time to iCloud and to make sure you merge reminders when prompted.
    Hope this helps.

  • TS3988 Trouble with Syncing with iCloud and my Mac (and iPhone)

I have moved my @me.com account to iCloud. Now it doesn't sync with any my devices. I can access iCloud itself and have full view of calendars, etc. They are incorrect as they are not synced with my Mac and doesn't update my iPhone.  I have tried to check my account subscription but cannot find it on iCloud.
    Can anyone help?
    Warm regards
    Jeff

    Welcome to the Apple community.
First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.
