Photo applications on ipad

Hi all does anyone know if you can download something like photoshop elements to the ipad as i take a laptop with me now to download my photo's and work on them so i wondered if there is anything that i can use on the ipad
thanks in advance
eon

There's certainly no Photoshop for iPad available or announced, as far as I know. If you search the Photography category on the App Store or sites such as appshopper.com you'll find lots of apps. Depending on what you want to do AFTER editing, the iPad may or may not be a great platform - some things work today, such as emailing photos, but others such as printing or publishing web sites probably don't, at all or as well.

It depends upon the capabilities of your printer. If you have an HP printer with a photo tray then the Photo app will print to whatever size you load in to that tray.
    There's some more information here:
Using AirPrint to Print Various Photo Sizes
With other printers the user is given a choice from the printer's loaded paper sizes. You can see an example of that here:

  • Photo application won't open anymore on my ipad

I have about 8gb of pictures on my 64gb ipad and been syncing it on the iphoto on my mac. Ive been doing that for quite sometime and working perfectly but after i used faces on my mac and synced it again, Photo application on my ipad wont open anymore. I tried to reset it soft and hard but nothing happens. I tried to erase all the pics except for the saved photos but it still wont open. I know the pics are saved in my ipad cause i can view it via other applications like photo chest but i cant open it via Photo Application. I am in desperate need pls. Thanks.

It's been a while since your post, but if you haven't gotten the issue fixed, you could try a restore from within itunes on your computer. This will replace the OS on the ipad and since the photo app is included in that, it may fix your problem.

  • Bugs on iPad Photo application - Faces

I have discovered a bug on my iPad's Photo application of the Faces. For some faces, the preview has the zoomed-in face of the person, which is normal. However, for the new faces which I have added on my Mac, the preview of the face is the whole photo, which is not normal. Is there a fix for this?
    Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using the default keyboard? Or a third party keyboard? If the latter, go back to one of the built in keyboards.
Is the iPad plugged in when this is happening? If so, you may have a bad charger. It can make the screen do funny things.

  • Photos uploaded to iPad sync to PC .iThmb files...how change setting?

I'm surprised that I couldn't find a prior post about this. I bought the adapter that let's you upload photos directly to iPad (which I like a lot - can view/thin/email pics from the road). But when you sync to a PC laptop, it uploads them into my docs as iThmb files. Anyone know if there is either a settings solution to change import type...or software app that will convert a selection of ithmb files jpeg? I don't care about opening them in ithmb and don't want to convert file at a time. someone hipper than me must know how to do this

An .ithmb file is the format used to store pictures on an iPod. There are several applications that can open .ithmb files such as File Juicer and Keith's iPod Photo Reader

  • I lost my itunes media folder how can I export the photos from my ipad to another location

I lost my itunes media folder and also my iPhoto files. I have the majority of the photos from iPhoto library on my iPad. How can I get them from my iPad to another location. Like exporting them to a folder on an external drive. Is this possible. I know I can move photos I've taken with the ipad to a new iphoto, but how can a get the old iphoto photos from my ipad to a new location? I'm basically starting over. Don't ask what happened. It was horrible.

An external drive? Not sure that there is any way of doing that. There are a number of WiFi transfer apps that should let you transfer the photos back to the Mac itself. Look at some of these.

  • Why can't I open all my emails, open attachments or send photos on my ipad anymore

Why can't I open all my emails, open attachments or send photos on my ipad anymore. Sometimes it takes awhile for an email to open, other times they open without any incident. I can't seem to be able to email any photos anymore.

It sounds like you have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them.
Pages 5 can not open Pages '08 files at all. You will need to Export the Pages '08 files to Word .doc/x or use Pages '09 to open the Pages '08 files and resave them.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 older Pages files can not be opened in previous Pages.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Note: Apple has removed over 90 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

  • The new Photo application only goes to 50% after pushing the "Getting Started" button. Is there a work-a-round?

I've tried unsuccessfully to move over to the new Photos application.  Every time I press the get started button it does well until it reaches 50%.  There it hangs.  I do have a large number of raw & jpg images in my pictures directory, but iPhoto seemed ok with it previously.  I did leave it running over night and it was still at 50% the next morning.  I am running on a 2011 MBP 17" running OS X 10.10.3.  I have 400G of free space.  I'm ok to throw away my old iPhoto library.  I only used it for organizing.  I use Adobe PS & LR for editing. I want to be able to do a similar thing with the new Photo Application.  Timeline the photos, send them to iCloud and distribute them to my devices ... iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch

  • HT204053 how do I transfer photos from my ipad to my iMac ?

How do I transfer photos from my ipad 2 to my imac?

this should help, use photo stream to do this
After your devices are using the appropriate software and you have set up your iCloud account, it’s easy to turn on Shared Photo Streams on any of your devices:
iOS devices: Go to Settings > iCloud > Photo Stream, then turn on Shared Photo Streams.
Mac: Go to System Preferences > iCloud, then select the checkbox for Photo Stream. Click the Options button to verify that the Shared Photo Streams checkbox is selected. Open the application you want to use with Photo Stream (iPhoto or Aperture) and confirm that Shared Photo Streams is turned on in that application. You can also adjust your Photo Stream settings in iPhoto or Aperture Preferences.
PC: Open the iCloud Control Panel for Windows and select the checkbox for Photo Stream. You can click the Options button to verify that Shared Photo Streams is enabled and adjust the settings. Be sure to click Apply when done.

  • How can I copy about 2000 photos off the Ipad 4?

A friend has a 16gb Ipad 4 which now shows 800mb free space, due to the fact that it's filled with photos, sitting in Iphoto.  He cannot update anything now due to being out of space, so he has asked me to help him move the photos off to another machine and then delete them from the Ipad.  He apparently has no other copies of these shots.
After reading dozens of posts about this, it appears to me that there really isn't any coherent method of simply marking and copying photos once they're in Iphoto on the Ipad 4.  After connecting it to the Mac via the USB cable, there's not much that is revealed.  And viewed from Windows, the DCIM folder which is where we generally expect to find these things shows only 13 photos.  Where are the rest of them?
All I have found is that I'll have to use an "external application" to do this; however, installing several of these has led me to being able to only copy the "new pictures" that apparently are on his camera roll.  There are only about 13 of these.  Another app led me to being able to copy albums, but he only has about 177 of the photos identified as being in an album.
So that leaves the thousands of shots that sit in Iphoto, apparently marooned.  Is it really possible that the only way to get these photos is to go though some sort of sync process with itunes or icloud?
Seems fairly clunky to me.  I would expect to be able to simply mark a folder, and drag it "somewhere else" rather than going through all the hoops it appears to require to do this.
    Anyone?
    Bueller?
    Thanks,

How to Remove “Other” Data from iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch
    http://www.igeeksblog.com/how-to-remove-other-data-from-iphone/
With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6/7, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.

    Dear nice ppl in Apple,
I have my last copy of my valuable photo in my iPad since I lost my laptop earlier. However, I don't know how to dig it out to my PC again.
It is important to me, please heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp.

Connect your iPhone to your computer. Tp your pc should recognize your iPhone as a camera. Use what ever application you have on the pc to transfer files from a camera to your computer.

Did you connect your iPad to your computer then open the application on your computer that transfers photos from a camera? Your computer should recognize the iPad as a camera. All photos in the Camera Roll on the iPad should then be seen and you should be able to copy them to the computer using that application.
Photos that were synced to your iPad by connecting to your syncing computer cannot be copied back this way as the master file for those photos are on the syncing computer.

  • I have photos on my iPad that I can only see in slideshow. How can I get rid of them?

I can't update my iPad because these photos are taking up a lot of space. I think we're accidentally synced in through iTunes but I can't see them in my photos on the iPad or even when I look at my photos from my iPad on the computer. They can only be seen in slideshow

    Hello there, Caroline.Mitchell.
The following Knowledge Base article provides some great steps for removing photos from your device:
    iTunes: Syncing photos
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236
Depending where the photos in question are located, the following steps should prove valuable:
To delete synced photos and videos from your device
In iTunes, click the Device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper-right corner first.)
Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
Note: To delete all synced photos, deselect "Sync Photos from" and, when asked, click "Remove photos."
    Click Apply.
To delete Camera Roll photos and videos from your device
There are two methods to delete items from the Camera Roll:
Import the Camera Roll to your computer and choose to delete items after import.
Delete photos and videos from your device manually:
Open the Photos application and open the Camera Roll.
    Tap the Action button.
Tap each photo to select it.
    Tap the Delete button.
Note: For photos and videos you want to save, import them to your computer before deleting them from the Camera Roll.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.
