Cannot share photos as email attachment. My OS is Windows 8.1 Email editor is Windows Live Mail. Tried switching editor to Adobe. Never recieved verification code.

Resizing a photo for email attachment

Hi
Need some help as according to the help section on my Passport, I can reduce the size of the message by reducing the size of pitcure attachments by "on the image size screen, tap a size". When adding some photos as attachments, im not presented with any options for reducing the image sizes as in previous versions and therefore may be forced to send 3 images at a time which would be very basic. Have i inadvertently switched this function off somewhere and if so how do i address this issue.

Cant share by email attachment

When I try to share a photo by email attachment, action stalls and will not complete.
Any ideas will be appreciated.

I’ve found it usually works best with web mail via Adobe after obtaining verification. I know some email services block bulk email completely and I’ve only tested it with Gmail on PSE11 which works fine. Before you start it will help to check your internet security settings. If they are set to High, reduce the settings to Medium temporarily. Then follow these instructions.
1. Log in to your mail provider on the web and add the following email to your address/contacts book.

2. Open Organizer and on the menu click:
Edit >> Preferences >> Sharing
3. Choose Adobe Email Service from the client dropdown menu.
4. Add your name and email address to the fields provided and click OK
5. Test the system (first use only) by selecting a photo in organizer and choosing Share >> Photo Mail then click Next (Mac users should use attachments)
6. Choose a contact then click Next
7. Click Next Step, then click Next - the sender verification dialog will open.
8. Check you have spelt your email address correctly and hit the Resend E-Mail button.
9. Go to your inbox (also check spam) and when the Adobe mailer message is received copy (Ctrl+C) the long verification code.
10. Return to the verification dialog and paste it (Ctrl+V) into the Sender verification field and click OK. Wait for validation confirmation then click OK to continue

So recently Apple updated (hijacked) my iPhoto app on my computer with their "new and improved" Photos software. While is good to have some long needed features like a useful file system, I seem to have lost some core functionality. I use Outlook as part of Office for Mac and can no long attach photos to emails. Yes, I know Apple and Microsoft hate each other and neglect if not sabatoge each other's stuff, but attaching a photo/image to Outlook email seems to be basic functionality Apple left out.
PLease discuss this and let me know if I'm missing something simple or how I might be able to fix this major problem. Otherwise how do I downgrade my software to the last iPhoto version so I can once again send an image over email.
i Realize that Apple may not have done this intentionally, but I never volunteered to be a beta tester for their new software. Apple is niave if they think people don't use MS Office on Macs. BTW, I have 3ipads, 3 macs, 2iphones and just purchased 4 watches...I hope there is an easy fix for this.

Nothing was hijacked. iPhoto is still on your Mac in the Applications folder. It was just replaced in the Dock with Photos during the 10.10.3 installation. If you were running iPhoto 9.6.1 you can still use it with your iPhoto Library.
It's MS's responsibility to update Outlook so it can work with Yosemite and Photos, not Apple's The same goes for all of the may other applications. It's the developers of those apps that must do the job. So don't blame Apple for their dropping the ball.
And remember upgrading to Yosemite was entirely voluntary on your part.
If you don't have iPhoto 9.6.1 then you can get it by following Terence Devlin's method in this post:

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

Email attachments (photos)

I'm vacationing in Costa Rica and Windows email outgoing messages are blocked so I must go to this Verizon server to send emails. I'm not able to attach single photos. Everything seems fine..the arrow just spins for about two minutes and then I get the following message: " Please check your network settings and try again". Photo does not attach.
What can I do to fix this?
Also any suggestions on how to use Window's email to send?

Sorry to hear about the problems you are having with email attachment. If you are not on a Verizon connection, you can not use outlook with the standard POP settings. You must use the webmail. I have sent you a private message

Just drop it into the message. It goes as an attachment. Or select the image, CTRL- or RIGHT-click and select Compress .... from the context menu. Then attach the archive.

Email attachment photos not appearing as thumbnails

When I receive a Yahoo email using Safari, the email attachment preview photos appear as a grey box with an inner blue box with a question mark in the middle. When I checked my Yahoo email using Firefox, the email attachment preview photos also do not appear. They show up as a gray box with a broken image icon in the upper left corner. The difference between the two is that in Safari, I am unable to download the pictures and view them at all. Get a securedownload thing. In Firefox, I am able to download the pics successfully. The preview photos (thumbnails) used to appear at the bottom of my email messages and I was able to click on them and download. My question is: How do I fix this problem of not being able to view the attachment photo previews (ya know the ones beside the words "Scan and save this photo to your computer"?

Strange this would occur on both browsers. This may be another Yahoo problem. Last night, images did not appear in my Yahoo Mail. This morning they are back. Do you still see the problem? If you do...
Are you seeing the image problem on other web site pages, or is this specific to Yahoo? If occurring on various web sites in Safari usually indicates the "display images when page opens" box is not checked in the Safari Preferences>Appearance panel. The counterpart setting in Firefox would be Content>Load Images Automatically.
If not, are you using any 3rd party Internet blocking software?

How do you add photos as an attached file, not where the photo shows up INSIDE the email? Purpose so receiver can print the photos that were sent by email.

Send Plain text emails - and that's a setting on your email client.

Is there a limit to the number of photos you can attach to an email? I've found when I try to send more than 5, my Iphone wont let me select any ... but accept if I keep it to five. This is for IPhone 6.

That's up to your email provider, and the limit is the total size of the email. Usually it must be under 10 MB, which is about 5 photos.

If on a mac, I'd be running a disk utility or looking to overwrite an app, or re-install the system.
Although over 25 years on Macs, this is my first iPhone... and I'm missing a few (probably) subtle things to do to resurrect this function.

If you are having issues with being unable to attach a photo from Mail on your iPhone, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPhone -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
