Photo Book: Alert Symbol/Deleting Blank Pages?

Greetings,
Two questions:
(I'm assembling a photo book for the first time...)
1. What does it mean when there's a small yellow alert symbol (a yellow triangle) in the upper right corner of my image?
2. How do I delete blank pages from the end of my photo book? I've created too many...
Thanks!
-Mark

It means your photo is below 180 dpi
LN
PS you may find a couple of things useful
1 - iPhoto have a neat system called HELP - click on the HELP menu and ask your question
The reaults for "Yellow Triangle" includes the following
If you see a low-resolution alert
A digital photo is made up of millions of individual dots of color, called “pixels.” A photo’s “resolution” is the number of dots per inch (dpi) that it contains. The higher the resolution, the more dots per inch. Some photos look jagged or blurry when printed if their resolution is too low.
When you include low-resolution photos in a book, calendar, card, or print order, an alert symbol marks those photos.
To improve a photo’s print quality:
Choose a smaller print size. In a book or calendar layout, you can do this by increasing the number of photos per page.
If you previously cropped the photo, revert to its original version, and then crop off a smaller portion, or leave it uncropped.
If you positioned a photo within its frame by zooming in on it, zoom out of the photo.
If you continue to see a low-resolution alert after trying these methods, you can still order prints of the image or include it in your book, calendar, or card, but it may not print as clearly as your other photos.

ipad does not seem to be charging.  Has been plugged in for about 5 hours and low battery icon remains same...alternates with apple symbol or blank page.  cannot turn ipad on or off

The iPod Touch kept trying to reboot yesterday but would only show the Apple logo screen then shut off - it finally drained the battery overnight I am guessing. Connected to USB the battery charging icon flashes.
Took it back to Best Buy, but they wouldn't touch it or replace it since it's under warranty.
To any potential buyers - beware. My best advice is to look somewhere besides Apple. Every Mac user I know has had to return a Mac, laptop, etc. Really poor quality control, and the retailers agree (Geek Squad told me they have had the same experience with Apple products).

  • Iphoto book - problem with deleting extra pages

I am finishing up a book with iphoto of 85 pages of photos.  I want to delete 6 empty pages, but when I go to All Pages View, hold control key and click, the only option is to add pages.  I don't want to purchase book and assume apple won't charge/print the blank pages.  Any suggestions?  and I'm on a deadline so don't want to go to the store....

Try going to the page view and Control (right) - clicking on the page you want to delete:

  • Deleting blank pages

Just spent an hour+ on the phone with a product specialist regarding this problem. Never, ever should something so simple be so difficult...
This is what worked for me, and should for you, too. It is basically a blow-by-blow of what Peggy attempts to describe in her post--which in theory is separating an entire Pages document into individual "pages".
    1. For ease of viewing, reduce view to 25-50%.
    2. Go to View>Show Layout.
    3. Go to View>Show Page Thumbnails.
    4. Go to the blank page that you want to delete in the regular view screen. (For sake of my example, it is page 3 of a 5-page Pages doc.)
    5. Start at bottom R of blank page and mouse-click-drag toward L top of page. This should highlight a blue bar along the top margin or a series of paragraph place holders.
    6. Delete (and don't worry that all your text has separated from the layout of the rest of the doc or pulled up, the next step should remedy that.)
    7. Go to Insert>Section Break. (Yes, it will add in the deleted page again.)
    8. Next, go to page 2 (page preceding the page you want to delete, repeat highlighting click as per step 1.)
    9. DO NOT press DELETE this time, but go directly to Insert>Section Break.
    10. Now, click on your thumbnails view. Your page three should now stand alone in its own yellow box, meaning it is its own section.
    11. With that blank page highlighted yellow, you can either delete or go to EDIT>Delete Pages. This should get rid of the blasted blank page.
    12. Check the remainder of your doc to be sure no other pics or text have "disappeared". I've seen such postings, and it happened to me on the first pass.
CAVEAT! Check the remainder of your doc to make sure photos and text are still present WITH EACH STEP. In the first trial run of this fix-it, random pics toward the end of my doc were gone. Thankfully, I hadn't saved, so I quit out without saving, thus recovering what appeared to be lost.
Finally, it seems the default on this program should be that each individual page stands on its own. This same issue of lumping all the pages in one Pages doc. becomes more of a problem when you want to shuffle or work on layout, swapping out spreads, etc.

Can you describe a bit more - remember we know nothing except what you tell us
To see exactly what will be printed preview via this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference
a book must be 20 pages (10 sheets of paper) - you can not delete pages below that limit
to delete a page select it and use the delete page command
To add a photo or text to a page select the page and change the layout for that page (in the tool bar below the book)
Do these shots in the dark help?

  • Delete Blank Page in Form Created in Designer ES 8.2

A fairly simple, straight-forward 3-page form was created in LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2.  At the end of the form (when saved and opened as a dynamic PDF) there is a rogue page at the end.  I cannot figure out how to delete the blank page.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks MUCH!!!!  You have helped tremendously!!!  :-)

  • Deleting blank pages in PDFs automatically

Greetings. We have a Ricoh Multipurpose scanner that scans documents to a network folder as a PDF. Because there
are a mix of Duplex and single page original documents, blank pages are created in some of the PDFs. Our staff has been
manually deleting them using Acrobat Pro. We would like to use a product that can automatically scan the network
folder and take the blank pages out. Does Adobe have such a product? If not can someone recommend a 3rd party product that
    they have used.
Thanks so much for your help. DonaldF129

Thanks for your note. I'm unfamiliar with the Preflight tool - where would I get this. Is the "Batch Sequence" entered
    into the Preflight tool?

  • Can't delete blank page in combined files PDF

I combined a number of files to create a new PDF binder in Acrobat X, then added a blank page in the middle using Tools > More Insert Options > Insert blank page. I later decided I didn't need the blank page and tried to delete it but received this error message:
One or more pages are in use and could not be deleted.
I gave up, trashed the PDF, and started all over again. But the new binder included the blank page in the same spot, and it won't let me delete it! I tried creating the PDF using my old Acrobat Pro 8. It created the file correctly, but when I closed the file and reopened it, it opened in Acrobat X - with the blank page again! How do I get rid of the blank page?

Open the file in Acrobat, delete the blankpage, and save the file.

  • Pages '08 creating unwanted sections, cannot delete blank pages

I'm in a bind - and in a rush - and Pages is misbehaving. I've been duplicating pages in the thumbnail viewer to maintain formatting, and then replacing text in text boxes. Suddenly, when I go to duplicate a page, Pages creates a section with a blank page attached and I cannot get rid of the blank page. When I try to delete the blank page, it also deletes a page of content.
This is frustrating, and I really need to get this project to the printer tomorrow.
    Thoughts?

You'll save you a lot of time fighting against these invisible functions.

  • Delete blank pages

I have imported a 100+page Pages document into iBook Author and there are some blank pages that have appeared as I have reorganised some of the text and graphics. Is it possible to delete just the blank pages because when I try to do so, the program warns that I will delete all the pages.
    Thanks
    roscoeoz

    View>Show Page Thumbnails
    1. Find offending blank page from left side bar, right click it and choose delete.
    or
    2. Go to offending page...make sure you are on that page...choose Edit>Delete
Sounds like you had sectioned off these blank pages while in iWork Pages? Be careful and insure your pagination still is correct after doing the above. Perhaps you need to dig deeper and look at the page before and after the blank to decide.
