Photo-Book - what's now?
Hi everybody
I created a photobook with adobe photoshop 7.
It has 60 pages now and I would love to have it in a printed book as it is said on the page.
Obviously adobe offers it on adobe photoshop services, but I can't find none of it.
How can I get my book to be printed and produced for real?

While editing your PhotoBook, there should be an Order button on the little bar that you use to go from page to page.

i have a mac osX 10.5.8 and i could always make photo books with iphoto , now all of a sudden i cant because i have iphoto version 7.1.5 i have tried countless updates and nothing is working ? help ?
Books are no longer supported with iPhoto '08 (a roughly six yeal old product) - you can purchase an iLife '09 DVD from someplace like Amazon or eBay and install it - iPhoto '09 is still supported this year

What does photo book do? pictures?
What program are you talking about? I'm not familiar with photo book or what application it comes in. I would take a rough guess it is a photo program of some kind.

I am using PSE 8 Help video tutorials to assist in making a Photo Book but would appreciate extra assistance.
I have 2 x PSE 8 catalogs running on two seperate laptops and every photo is captioned. For the final photo book I would like:
My work area to be an external hard drive.
To create a single new catalog on the same external hard drive comprising copies of select albums from the existing two catalogs.
Carry forward each caption on every photo.
I am not technical and do not understand how PSE 8 manages captions. For example are they:
Written onto the image (photo) permanently? or
Held in a linked text file?
If it is 2 above and the external hard drive is to be stand alone do I need to have both image (photo) copies on the external drive ie the original plus original with caption?
Is what I have outlined above technically possible using PSE 8?
It is really a coffee table book that I would like to create and PSE 8's book making functionality appears to be limited, most obviously in book size. This being the case once I have created a draft of My Photo book what services does Adobe offer to take this to coffee table size presentation?

Can you please provide a step by step instruction on how to create on my
external hard drive a single catalog for common use on the network?
My starting point will be copying selected albums from each catalog on my
respective laptops and merging them into this new catalog (created above).
Because I am not technical can you also include in your instruction how I
map my external hard drive so that it (the catalog) is fully operational
from either laptop?

Custom Background in Photo Book
I want to use an image for my background when creating a photo book. How do I use my image? When I click on background, it only
shows the backgrounds that come with Photoshop Elements 8. I want to use my own image.

Operating System: Windows XPI can share one trick which I have never tried .....
When you are actually placing files in Photo Book, add extra frame on each page and expand it untill frames go out of photo-book boundaries.
Now place photogrpahs in this extra frame and put other frames on top of it... Hope it will work... -
When making a photo book, my iPhoto freezes during uploading the book to the storey. I have attempted this 4 times now and I don't know what to do! I know the file size is massive due quantity of large image files, but I don't want to reduce the image file size and compromise quality in the book. How can I get past this?

Try to boot into Safe Mode and order this way, or sign into a different user account and try to order as a different user.

i finished a photo book and now since days I can't buy it because there seems to be connection problem with apple shop. What can I do??
In the iPhoto preferences verify that yo have the correct print products country selected.
Do you have any firewire software such as Little Snitch?
Is your internet connection working ok?

I accidentally updated iPhoto on my (now) external hard drive and now it won't let me access any of my photos. What can I do?
So, you have two versions of iphoto? One from the old machine and one from the new?
If so, forget about opening with the older version of iPhoto.
For the newer version:
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. -
I have just downloaded iPhoto from the app store. The photo library from my old laptop was backed up on an external hard drive and I retrieved the photos from there. Now when I open the photos on my new Mac Book Pro, they are small - am I missing something?

That means you imported one Library to another.
Never import one Library to another. Every version and thumbnail is imported like a distinct photo, you lose all your Albums, Keywords etc., the link between Original and Previews is destroyed, the non-destructive editing feature is ruined and so on. In summary: it's mess.
So the reason you're seeing small photos is because you're seeing the iPhoto thumbnails from the back up library.
So, what to do?
Do you still have the back up? If so, trash this bunged up library and restore from the back up again. HOw to restore will depend entirely on how you made the back up, but no version of restoring includes importing the library.

No matter what option I select- iPhoto either crashes or the beachball starts spinning. Either way, I can`t access the photo book anymore.
Is there anything I can do?
The selected theme is definitely still available in iPhoto, so this can`t be the real problem...
I have been sitting on the book work for days...

DennisMake a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
If that doesn't help launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If it does then a reinstall of iPhoto is warrented.
If the problem does not appear in the test library then your current library is damaged. In that case make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #1, followed by #3 and then #4.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I move folders from my internal hard drive twice to an external hard drive. Now I believe Lr does not know how to find my photos. What can I do to get this cleared up.
Jim has a very good suggestion. There are many factors at work here:
1) How are you connecting the external drive to the computer?
2) How big are files (329 x 1MB is not the same as 329 x 25MB)?
3) What is your computer specification?
4) Do you have any power saving settings on (in particular something that would send the computer/hard drives to sleep)? -

it has been a while since we have last spoke, I would like to let you know, I am still working on getting used to the switch from windows to a Mac/Apple system. I do have a new question for you, I did purchase In Design CS5.5 through journeyed.com through Cuyahoga Community College of which I attend as a student, is there a way to purchase an online book through iTunes to learn that as well? Also, you know me, the struggling student, I would also, when and if the book can be purchased through the iTunes, would need to know if you do know of a much easier book for struggling students like myself and at a reasonable price as well for the In Design CS5.5 program. Our campus bookstore had closed early, and, so did the colleges library and our local library here where I do live, so, I cannot go to either place to purchase a book or to take out a book, plus cash funds are low at this moment as well but, I do have money left on the iTunes account to use, if it can be used. So, can it be used, the iTunes money, towards finding a low priced online book? I am in great need of assistance as I have a project due for my one course for this Tuesday, September 4, 2012.

I had ordered a photo book print two years back. I want to reorder the same book again now. However, I have lost the album project/photos from iphoto.
Is there any way to see my print order history and reorder the same book for print ?No. Apple only keeps the pdf file for a book for 30 days. Without the library and book project you won't be able to reorder the same book.

I'm living in Portugal and I have created a photo book with iPhoto 11 with all the instructions in Portuguese. When I was about to order it, I couln't finish my order because there no photo service in Portugal. I'm very disappointed !! There is any possibility to order it from Spain? What do I have to do?

It may depend entirely on the internet provider's location that you are connected to, or it may depend on the iTunes Store settings or Mac App Store settings.
