Photo book - who can print my book in australia?

I have created a storybook from my photos in Photoshop elements and want to get it professionally printed as a book.  Places like snapfish can do it but they require you to use their software.  Does anyone know someone who will print it from a pdf or a *.pse file that I can create?  Or is there another format in elements I could use?  Ideally they would be in Australia but perhaps even overseas
Thanks
Mamma Mia

If there is a company out there that does this in Australia, they have a web site.  And, that web site is indexed by Google.  So go to Google and type in some key words that would be on the web site of a company that prints books for individuals.  Key words like "book," "print," "Australia," and "thermonuclear fusion" come to mind.
I've been a professional writer for 28 years, and I've heard about this sort of thing.  It's called "vanity press".  Basically, these companies will print whatever you want, and print as many copies as you want.
You may be limiting yourself too much by requiring the company to be in Australia.  Basically, why do you care where they are located?  You are going to send them one or more high-quality pdfs by e-mail.  On their web site, you are going to type in your name, address, and credit card information.  Then they will ship you as many copies of the resulting hardbound books as you have ordered.  They could be in the U.S., Canada, or Serbo-Croatia for all you care.  The shipping charge may be more, but you will have a much wider selection of venders.
The reason why I wrote "one or more high-quality pdfs" is because you probably will have a lot of pictures in your book.  It's easy to compress a large document with many pictures into a 15 megabyte file - the largest size that you can e-mail.  But you should consider whether the pictures in that compressed document are still of sufficient quality for your needs.  So open the final compressed pdf and print several of the pictures on your own printer.  Are you satisfied with the quality of these pictures?  If you aren't, then export your original document into two (or three or four) higher-quality pdfs, and send them in multiple e-mails.
You are limited to about 15 megabytes on each e-mail.  That may sound like a lot, but it disappears quickly when you deal with high-quality pictures.
As I said, I'm a professional writer.  For years, my nephew has been bugging me to tell him what I did in Vietnam.  I was an Infantry pointman in Vietnam.  I was the first one to walk down the jungle path.  I was wounded seven times.  Because of public hostility towards Vietnam veterans, I hid what I did.  So after I retired, I thought I'd just write up what I did for my nephew.  How long could it take - five or ten pages?  The problem with being a professional writer - is that you write.  The final document in InDesign was 200 pages long, and had 100 pictures.  The final document also was 57 megabytes in size.
In InDesign, you can choose how compressed a pdf of the final document will be.  You can choose a little compression, which would result in a large pdf, or a lot of compression, and a small pdf.  Since I had no intention of ever printing the document, I choose the maximum compression for the pdf.  The document size went from 57 megabytes to a pdf of 11 megabytes.  That was perfect for e-mailing to my nephew - but clearly some of the picture quality had been sacrificed.  My nephew didn't care, but the picture quality probably would have been noticeable if it had been printed into a "real book".

Here are 3 options for future reference:
    1. With the setup you've described, apply a Match Move behavior to  the text and make the rectangle the source. Change the Transform parameter to Mimic source.  This way you can still adjust the text postion as needed, but the rectangle will drive the animation.
    2. Use a group to do the animation.  Put both your rectangle and text in the same group and animate the group's postion.
    3. Use the Link behavior.
Each of these has it's advantages depending on what you need.

  • Ordering Photo Books in Australia with iPhoto 5

We've just spend ages building a photo book using iPhoto 5.0.4 in Australia. We couldn't actually place the order though. After a call to Apple support in Australia, we have discovered that you can only order a photo book from iPhoto in Australia using iPhoto 6 & upwards...

The Apple Australia web site says you can:
    http://www.apple.com/au/ilife/iphoto/print-products.html
I'd suggest you ask for further assistance in the iPhoto forum. This forum is for old, pre-G3 Apple hardware and hence not the place where you'll be most likely to get useful advice.

  • How do I control who can print over my wireless Officejet Pro 8000 A809n?

    Hi all,
Looking for some help as to how I can control who can/cannot print over my Officejet Pro 8000 A809n (CB047A) printer.
We have multiple users in the house, but I only want to allow certain people to print wirelessly, is there some way I can set this up?
Any help would be much appreciated!

Sorry, you cannot control this other than to remove the printer from the network, turn it off or otherwise disable it.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Is there a way to restrict who can connect/find a HP MFP attached to a router.

We have  a HP MFP connected to a local network router.  I'd like to restrict access to who can print to it.  The printer is connected via ethernet.  Anyone who has access to our network (wired or wirless) can find/connect to the printer.  We only want certain people to have access to it.  Is there a way to set up the printer to do this?

    Hi rross3,
Depending on which printer you have, this may be possible through the printer's EWS (embedded web server). To access the EWS, open a browser on your computer and type the IP address of the printer into the address field. If you can access the EWS, then check for Settings tab>Firewall Rules. If this exists, you can create a new rule to allow only certain IP's the ability to print to the printer. It would probably be best to assign static IPs to the computers you want to be able to print.
Alternately, if you have access to the network's router, it may have a similar function. You would also want to assign a static IP to the printer (as well as the computers), then allow access to only the computers you want to be able to print (following the same instructions above).

  • How can i print just one page of photo book without printing the entire book

how can i print just one page of photo book without printing the entire book

    Jim,
    Take heart.  We can help.
First turn on page view so you can see how the content of your sheet fits on the page(s).  A Numbers document contains sheets (listed on the left) which in turn contain tables, charts, text, and graphics.  Select the sheet you want to print on the left, then enable page view by selecting the menu item:
    "View > Show Print View":
Now you should see your content and how it fits on one, or more, pages.  If thie content is too big for one page use the controls and the bottom left of the window to expose the sheet controls:
Here a table is too big to fit on one page:
slide the "Content Scale" slider so the content fits:

  • How can I print a photo book in Mandarin

I have just returned from Taiwan and would like to send a photo book to an amazing gentleman I met who only speaks Mandarin. I have access to a first rate translator, but couldn't find information pertaining to printing in this language. Thank you.

If the Mac supports Mandarin (I looked in the languages section of the System preferences and saw several asian languages but couldn't tell which, if any, were Mandarin) you might be able to use Language Switcher with iPhoto to create the book in Mandarin, preview it according to this Apple Document,http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 , and then order it.

  • Can a photo book created in i photo be saved in pdf format or shared online with a customer before printing?

Can a photo book created in i photo be saved as a pdf or shared online in any way with a customer before printing?

Sure - once you make a PDF you can e-mail or share it as you want - although they can be large so you need a share capability for large file

  • Trouble with viewing font on spine of Photo book.  I can't find a way to view and edit the text which appears on the spine of the dustcover or the book itself when printed.

I can't find a way to view and edit the text which appears on the spine of the dustcover or the photo book itself.  When I preview the book it appears on the dustcover and the book, but not when I'm back in the creation or editing windows.  I've printed 4 books in a series and two spines are one font size, and two others are a different font size.  One of the books has a shortened title on the book spine.

The text on the spine will be the same text that is in the Title text box on the title page.  You can change the font and style of that text just like you change any text in Aperture. Aperture will size and center the spine text for you
If you want the content or the font and style  of the text to be different from your Title box text then you have to trick the program a bit.  Put the text that you want in the spine into the Title text box and then move that box to a place on the page where it will not be visible when printed ( Y coordinate -1.0 inches for example).  Don't move it too far away or it will be hard to get back to in order to make an edit.    Then make a new text box on the title page and put the text you want on the cover in that.  (Or make a book without text on the cover , but with text on the spine).
You are 100% correct in that you can not preview this unless you preview the printed book

Anyhow, try a different browser. What were you using?
Firefox is known to work well with the download manager when other browers fail.

How can I fix the text in my photo book that reads"your default text had not been edited. Printed books will not include this text?"

You will get this warning, if your book includes textboxes that still include the default text, like "Insert Title". You need to find these boxes and add your own text.  Look for boxes like this:
Make a PDF-preview of your book and look, where the preview differs from what you are seeing in iPhoto.

  • Can I print the photo book with any fonts?

I would like to print a photo book using iphoto. Is it possible to print this by using any fonts?

Don't get up your hopes, Old Toad . I never tried to buy a photo book from the iPad.
The documentation does not say much:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5037
It only mentions, that you can change the font size:
    Edit text on a page
Tap Projects, and tap the photo book to open it.
Double-tap the page containing the text you want to work with.
    Do the following:
Align the text: Tap the text box, and choose an alignment style from the menu that appears directly above the text box.
Choose the font size: Tap the text box, and tap the font size you want.
Make changes to the text: Double-tap the text box, and type.
No mention of the supported font. Probably the fonts will depend on the country of the Print Products Store you are using:
To change countries, tap at the top-left corner of the screen, and select another country from the list.

  • Can I order photo books or prints for shipping to Canada?

Will the iPhoto photo book and prints deliver to Canada?  Is there an extra cost for shipping?

I think Skizcanada is asking if you can order the new iPhoto books from iPhoto for iOS. This new feature only became available yesterday. The Canadian iTunes (web) store indicates that the book feature is available. (Not sure if this link is going to stick.)

  • Can a completed Aperture photo book be placed on a website for viewing by friends?  I already had several copies successfully printed by Apple.

Can a completed Aperture photo book be placed on a website for viewing by friends?  I already have several copies successsfully printed by Apple?  Thanks. Buzz22

There is no direct web publishing of a book, sorry. But as a work-around: You can print your book to pdf - select it in the book in the Inspecktor panel and use "Print book".  Then select the "PDF" buttun in the print panel and save a pdf file. Upload the pdf to a server for sharing (ftp, Drop box) and send your friends a link or place a link to the file on a webpage.
